OUR LADY AT PRAYER

2. What She Prays for.
Later on Jesus would teach us that we must ask for the Kingdom of God and its justice and this is exactly what Mary is asking for: that the Savior come, that God send the Messias, that the Lord hasten the hour of Redemption. And She asks it with such fervor that God does not know how to refuse. Mary's prayer anticipates the happy hour. Remember the wedding feast at Cana: Christ said there that His hour had not yet arrived. But through the intercession of Mary He anticipates it and works the miracle. Think of God advancing the hour when He will send His Son on to earth. In the same way as He advances the hour of the first miracle, He anticipates the hour of Redemption on the Cross, the hour of His Resurrection, all in response to Mary's request.
