Vatican City ( Fides Service) - Wednesday 7 April 1858, miracle of the candle: 17th apparition. “Our Lady called Bernadette in the evening of April 6. The news that Bernadette was going to the Grotto spread and about 1,200 people were waiting for her when she arrived a 6 in the morning. They see Bernadette in ecstasy for three quarters of an hour. That day, Dr Dozous witnessed the “miracle of the candle” for fifteen minutes. The flame of the candle did not burn the skin of Bernadette who participated so to say during the ecstasy with the impassability of her glorious body”. (J.M.)
