SCRIPTURE COMMENTARY #16

And Mary rising up in those days, went into the hill country with haste into a city of Juda.
(Luke 1:39)

PROMPT SERVICE: Mary went to Elizabeth in haste, because her loving sympathy and desire to be of assistance impelled her to go to her cousin with as little delay as possible. Her example teaches us that we should never be dilatory in the performance of any good work. Let us never put off till tomorrow what we can do today.

[From 'A Practical Commentary on Holy Scripture' by Bishop Knecht, D.D.]
(1899 Douay-Rheims Bible)

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
