SCRIPTURE COMMENTARY #39

And behold there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon: and this man was just and devout . . . And she was a widow until fourscore and four years: who departed not from the temple, by fastings and prayers serving night and day.
(Luke 2:25; 37)

GOOD WORKS: Simeon and Anna obtained the great grace of faith in our Lord's Divinity by a faithful observance of the law, by fasting and prayer, and a great inward desire for His coming.
