SCRIPTURE COMMENTARY #97

And Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who had heard of John and followed him. He findeth first his brother Simon and saith to him: "We have found the Messias," which is, being interpreted, the Christ. And he brought him to Jesus. (John 1:40-42)

ZEAL FOR SOULS: Andrew and Philip were full of joy at having found the Messiah and became His disciples. They showed their thankfulness for the great grace they had received, by their endeavors to impart it to their friends and relatives. All who love Jesus have a zealous desire to make their friends love Him also.
