[MaryVitamin] Fourth Glorious Mystery

Mary Vitamin for April 15th
Topic: The Fourth Glorious Mystery, The Assumption

Quote:
"Why speak of death? Let us rather say that Divine love came, and cut the thread of that noble life."
St. Alphonsus di Liguori, The Glories of Mary, (Tan Books), 384.

Meditation:
"The prophet Elias was carried to heaven in a fiery chariot, which, according to interpreters, was no other than a group of angels who bore him off from the earth. 'But to conduct thee to heaven, O Mother of God,' says the Abbot Rupert, 'a fiery chariot was not enough; the whole court of heaven, headed by its King thy Son, went forth to meet and accompany thee.'"
St. Alphonsus di Liguori, The Glories of Mary, (Tan Books), 389.

Resolution:
Every small death to myself in this life, brings me closer to the Blessed Virgin and cuts the chains that tie me to this earth. (She was held by a thread.) I don't have to go looking for extra penances if I just accept the daily challenges. I will try to endure bravely and virtuously one event today and think of the detachment of the Blessed Virgin to the things of this life.

Marian vow:
The Marian vow, if lived to its fullest in transubstantiation into the Immaculate, can become the fiery chariot to speed Our Lady's children to heaven.

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Thanks be to God for graces received.
