Virgin of Los Remedios, Mexico

Commemorated on September 1.

The Virgin of Los Remedios (Spanish: La Virgen de los Remedios) or Our Lady of Los Remedios (Spanish: Nuestra Señora de los Remedios) is a small statue of the Virgin Mary, believed to have been brought to Mexico by the conquistadores.

The Virgin of Los Remedios was named the patron of Mexico City in 1574.

Dedicated to the Virgin of los Remedios is also the patron saint of the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Spain) and his diocese.

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
