[MaryVitamin] trusting

Mary Vitamin for June 4th

Topic: Trusting the Immaculate

Quote:
St. Maximilian Kolbe
Since we belong entirely to the Immaculate, let us do all within our power to convert and sanctify souls. It is the Immaculate herself who works through our mediation.
The Kolbe Reader (Marytown Press), 92.

Meditation:
St. Edith Stein recounts the way in which St. Teresa of Avila allowed the Immaculate to work through her. WhenSt. Teresa returned as prioress to the convent of the Incarnacion, she won over the hearts of the nuns and lead them to embrace the Carmelite reform through the intercession of the Mother of God.

The storm broke as the provincial led [Teresa] into the house. The provincial, Fr. Angelo de Slazar, could not make himself heard in the noisy gathering. The Te Deum that he intoned was drowned out by the sounds of indignation. Teresa's goodness and humility finally brought about enough quiet for the sisters to go to their cells and to tolerate her presence in the house.

They were saving the decisive declarations for the first chapter meeting. But how amazed they were when they entered the chapter room at the sound of the bell to see in the prioress seat the statue of our dear Lady, the Queen of Carmel, with the keys to the monastery in her hands and the new prioress at her feet. Their hearts were conquered even before Teresa began to speak and in her indisputably loving manner presented to them how she conceived and intended to conduct her office.
Volume IV of the Complete Works of Edith Stein

Resoution:
Today, in imitation of the Marian manner of St. Teresa of Avila, and in great expectation that the hearts of my household can be won over by dedicating my family, my office, my duties, and my day to Our Lady, I will bring all my burdens to Our Lady and entrust them into her wise and capable hands.

Marian Vow:
St. Maximilian Kolbe instructs us on the meaning of the Marian vow:
To tell the truth, in the act of consecration to the Immaculate we repeat that she may do with us "whatever she pleases." This does not mean, of course, that we should not be concerned, but that we must trust her entirely and must ask her in prayer for the strength we need.
The Kolbe Reader, (Marytown Press), 187.

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.
