C.S. Lewis’s Screwtape Letters Triumphs on Broadway

September 9, 2010.

"Screwtape Letter," a classic by the famous Christian writer CS Lewis triumphs, is now not only a literary work but also a Broadway play.

Those who have seen it at the Westside Theatre in New York describe it as "exciting from beginning to end." And neither critics nor the public have  shunned this literary classice.

Through satire and irony, CS Lewis’s Screwtape Letters contain the voice of the devil who explains to his nephew, a fellow tempter, how to make humans believe that Christian values and virtues are imaginary and impossible to achieve. Or that to put off until tomorrow the good deeds you can do today is the easiest way to bring souls to hell.

It’s a work of literature and a Broadway show as deep as it is enjoyable. It gives an insight into the devil and his work - the way he gives advice not to be followed. A practical and exciting insight, typical of the theologian and writer, CS Lewis.
