Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Today I am with you and bless you all with my motherly blessing of peace, and I urge you to live your life of faith even more, because you are still weak and are not humble. I urge you, little children, to speak less and to work more on your personal conversion so that your witness may be fruitful. And may your life be unceasing prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call."

(September 25, 2010)

"
Work more on your personal conversion so that your witness may be fruitful."  We don't always associate our witness with our personal conversion.  Our witness seems public, but our conversion seems more private, between me and God.  And yet our witness will bear good fruit only if our conversion is real.  So they are tied together.

One such conversion that is bearing incredible fruit is Craig Lodge in Scotland.  The MacFarlane-Barrow family went to Medjugorje in the early 80's and their whole life changed. They began a house of prayer on their property, and soon hundreds of people were coming to Craig Lodge to pray and find the peace they lacked.  Out of this prayer and peace came an initiative called "Mary's Meals".  Today through SIR (Scotland International Relief) over ½ million starving children all over the world are fed at school every day.  Talk about fruit.

You can read about this remarkable family at www.marysmeals.org!  Also, I want to include a news flash they just sent out in which you can help.

Mary's Meals Extra

Welcome to the Autumn Issue of Mary's Meals Extra, our quarterly e-bulletin for supporters, keeping you up to date with the latest Mary's Meals events and activities.

We want to start by sharing some news that we have only just heard. Magnus, our founder, has been named one of the Top Ten Heroes of 2010 by the TV station CNN.

This international recognition of our work is an honour, and presents a wonderful opportunity to tell more people around the world about the importance of a meal a day, in school, for a hungry child.

We hope that you will help us by sharing the link to the film about Magnus at www.cnn.com/heroes and casting your vote for the Hero of the Year.

The CNN Heroes programme aims to promote "everyday people who are doing extraordinary things". Magnus' initial nomination in the summer had a big impact on Mary's Meals which you can read more about that in this issue of Mary's Meals Extra. http://www.marysmeals.org/PDF/Marys-Meals-EXTRA-Issue7.pdf

Please vote for Magnus, because if he wins, Mary's Meals will receive a big donation!  I see in Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow a good example of a personal conversion that is bearing fruit in his witness.  You can read about Magnus and his family on their website also.

God bless you all and please say a quick prayer for me, I have a bad cold!!

In Jesus and Mary!
