Birth of Mary

Dear Family of Mary!

"Today I call you to let your life be connected with God the Creator, because only in this way will your life have meaning, and you will understand that God is love. - God gives himself to whoever seeks him." (April 25, 1997)

Today we celebrate the Birth of Mary, our Mother!  What joy!  No one on earth (except Jesus) has ever been more connected with God the Creator than Mary!  Conceived and born without original sin, Our Lady must have truly experienced the closeness of the Father.  Her prayer must have been an experience of Love!  The Persons of the Blessed Trinity were her constant companions.  And it was from this experience of God that her life derived its meaning.

You can hear the connection with God the Creator in Our Lady's words from Luke:

"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;

My spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:

The Almighty has done great things for me,

And holy is His Name."  (Lk 1:46-49)

Our Lady was totally aware of God the Creator, the one who had made her, given her life, given her natural gifts and through a special grace in advance, freed her from original sin and its consequences.  She was completely aware of God's love for her and she knew it was all gift.  Nothing about her was of her own doing.  She was graced to receive her life from God in purity and joy, because of Jesus.  Everything was gift!

She knew the favor of God, she knew that it was a mighty thing He had done for her, in giving her an Immaculate Heart and then giving her the Savior as her Son.   And she rejoiced in that knowledge.  She wasn't afraid.  She was receptive and excited!  This was the meaning of her life.  Jesus!

We can be like Mary.  She wants us to imitate her.  She once said, "I am your mother, and I wish that your hearts be like my heart...therefore, get closer, little children, to my Immaculate Heart and you will discover God."  (5-25-95)  If we get very close to our Mother's heart, she will make our hearts like hers and then we will be able to rejoice in God the Creator just like she does.  It is heaven.  Our lives will have infinite, incredible meaning, if we remain close to our Mother.

Happy Birthday, dearest Mother!
