Catholic Word President's Statement on the Pope's Creation of New Pontifical Council

NECEDAH, Wis., Oct. 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- In response to the release of His Holiness Benedict XVI's latest motu proprio titled Ubicumque et Semper, which establishes the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, Catholic Word President Carolyn Klika issued the following statement:

"This is great news and yet more proof that the Church is eminently blessed to have this Pope at this time.

"For over a decade, the core mission of Catholic Word has been to reevangelize places 'that were, for centuries, impregnated with the gospel.' Ubicumque et Semper commits the institutional Church to a renewed effort at evangelizing our secular world, and that is very heartening for organizations such as ours. We are deeply grateful.

"I invite all Catholics to join us in our wholly committed support for the new Pontifical Council."

Catholic Word is a publisher group of 21 Catholic publishers and music producers with leading Catholic Bible studies and other faith formation materials.
