Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! This is a time of grace for the family and, therefore, I call you to renew prayer.

May Jesus be in the heart of your family. In prayer, learn to love everything that is holy.  Imitate the lives of saints so that they may be an incentive and teachers on the way of holiness. May every family become a witness of love in this world without prayer and peace. Thank you for having responded to my call." (October 25, 2004)

As Denis and I were praying the "Healing of the Family Tree" prayer last Saturday, I felt the Lord telling me to ask St. Joseph for help in that prayer.  It became clear to me that St. Joseph has a special anointing to help free families from evil and bondage, and that His intercession would be very helpful. I mentioned this "feeling" at the end of our internet rosary.  As a confirmation, I received this wonderful email from our friend, Marie!  She shares how St. Joseph has helped her family:

Dear Cathy,

Thank you for Mary TV and for the grace of praying the rosary with you, thank you to Our Lady of Medjugorje for her care for me and my family.

I just wanted to share about Saint Joseph as you talked about him on the Saturday rosary.

My husband and I had difficulties to find time to pray together and one day, on Saint Francois de Sales feast day I think, I found his prayer to Saint Joseph.  It was a time when my husband was changing work and had difficulties, and I prayed in my heart that St Joseph would put work in my life and my husband's life at the right place. I printed out the prayer and I had some courage to ask my husband if he wouldn't mind if we prayed this prayer at dinner time. My husband was ok and we started to pray each day before dinner the prayer to Saint Joseph.

It's been some ten months now I think that we have prayed this prayer, my husband, Pauline and I, at table, before dinner. Sometimes it's Pauline who prays it, sometimes my husband, sometimes it's me. After that, we pray a little prayer of thanksgiving with the words of our hearts for the days: "thank you for...., sorry for... and offer our difficulties. It doesn't last very long, but I can see now the grace it is. St Joseph found the way for us to have a time of prayer together.

I give thanks to Jesus and Mother Mary and St Joseph, because they take us as we are, and with each family, each person, they lead us with prayer as we are. Oh yes I give thanks for the gift of prayer, and for the perseverance of Mother Mary in our family.

This is the prayer:

Prayer of St Francis de Sales to St. Joseph
"Glorious St Joseph, spouse of Mary, grant us thy paternal protection, we beseech thee by the heart of Jesus Christ. O thou, whose power extends to all our necessities and can render possible for us the most impossible things, open thy fatherly eyes to the needs of thy children.

"In the trouble and distress which afflicts us, we confidently have recourse to thee. Deign to take under your charitable charge this important and difficult matter, cause of our worries. Make its happy outcome be for God's glory and for the good of His devoted servants.  Amen."

I have great affection to St Joseph, because He puts things at the right place especially in a family. Oh, I love him very much! In my personal life he helps me to understand my husband, and in my work and my thoughts, to have all in his heart...

Have a very blessed Sunday!

Marie

Isn't this beautiful!  Through a simple prayer to St. Joseph, Marie and her family were given the gift of family prayer!  As Our Lady tells us, "This is a time of grace for the family and, therefore, I call you to renew prayer." In this case, St. Joseph helped Marie's family to respond to this time of grace!  I believe St. Joseph can help us, even in difficulties and stress, to find the way to renewal of prayer and peace in our families.  We have only to ask!

In Jesus and Mary!
