Quote:
"A most important means of acquiring interior mildness is to accustom ourselves to perform all our actions and to speak all our words, whether important or not, quietly and gently. Multiply these acts as much as you can in the time of tranquility, and so you will accustom your heart to gentleness."
St. Francis de Sales, A Year with the Saints, (Tan Books)170.

Meditation:
Saint Louis de Montfort acclaims St. Francis de Sales as one of the greatest Marian saints. The above quote gives evidence to St. Francis de Sales' diligent study and imitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He has come to know the meekness of the Blessed Virgin who "from day to day appeared more beautiful especially in her sweetness."(Glories of Mary)

Resolution:
St. Francis doesn't ask me to be mild immediately. He says to practice meekness when it is easy so that it becomes a habit, a virtue. Today, I will practice speaking mildly when it is easy, so that I may develop the habit of meekness in imitation of Our Lady, even when it is difficult.

Marian Vow:
St. Francis de Sales has wise words for one consecrated to the  Blessed Virgin Mary: "So we must not only use gentle words towards our neighbors but must be filled with gentleness, that is, our very inmost soul."
St. Francis de Sales, Introduction to the Devout Life, (Tan Books),142.

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.
