The Online Catholic Network:

Press Release

Thursday, 10 March 2011 13:24 Last Updated on Thursday, 10 March 2011 13:53 Written by Jerry Simpson

The Online Catholic Network is a new type of social network, built for Catholics, by Catholics.  This growing site was built following a call from the Holy Father for Catholics to grow and share in their Faith by using the power of Social Networking.

A growing number of Catholics are building fellowships and sharing in their faith on the Online Catholic Network daily. Many people are calling the Online Catholic Network the most inspiring and informative site of it's kind.

The Online Catholic Network is a feature rich Facebook style website allowing users to share their faith by creating groups, blogging, sharing stories, discussing the Faith in forums, sharing in online study groups, chatting and much more with new features being added all the time.  The website also features a growing list of featured clergy and laity bloggers to share the faith with users including Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, Sr. Mary Fidelis, Doug Barry and the Cardinal Newman Society.

The Online Catholic Network is not attempting to replace Facebook in any way.  The mission of the site is to augment people’s Faith sharing experience online by providing a Catholic environment to interact with other like-minded Christians.  Facebook is a very secular site, whereas when you visit the Online Catholic Network you enter a new type of social networking environment where users can share in the Faith and arm themselves for the challenges of evangelizing the secular world they encounter both online and in their daily lives.

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
