Dear Family of Mary!

John3

"Dear children!

God the Father is sending me to show you the way of salvation, because He, my children, desires to save you and not to condemn you. That is why I, as a mother, am gathering you around me, because with my motherly love I desire to help you to be free of the dirtiness of the past and to begin to live anew and differently. I am calling you to resurrect in my Son. Along with confession of sins renounce everything that has distanced you from my Son and that has made your life empty and unsuccessful. Say 'yes' to the Father with the heart and set out on the way of salvation to which He is calling you through the Holy Spirit. Thank you. I am especially praying for the shepherds, for God to help them to be alongside you with a fullness of heart." (May 2, 2011)

At Mass yesterday, the priest started his homily in the same way that Our Lady began this message.  He said, "God does not want to condemn us.  He wants to save us!  People often think that God is just waiting to catch us doing something wrong so He can punish us.  But this is not true.  God wants to save us!"  As proof he cited the famous Gospel passage he had just read, John 3:16-17:  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him."

It seems pretty clear!  The Father wants us all to live with Him for eternity.  He wants His children saved.

Jesus told St. Faustina the same thing in her Diary:

"My Heart overflows with great mercy for souls, and especially for poor sinners.  If only they could understand that I am the best of Fathers to them and that it is for them that the Blood and Water flowed from My Heart as from a fount overflowing with mercy.  For them I dwell in the tabernacle as King of Mercy.  I desire to bestow My graces upon souls but they do not want to accept them.  You, at least, come to Me as often as possible and take these graces they do not want to accept.  In this way you will console My Heart.  Oh, how indifferent are the souls to so much goodness, to so many proofs of love!  My Heart drinks only of the ingratitude and forgetfulness of souls living in the world.  They have time for everything, but they have not time to come to Me for graces."

Jesus longs to save souls.  He waits to pour out His love upon them.  But the hitch is that most souls don't know it, don't know they need it, don't really care about it.  Why?  They have never experienced the love of God.  They have no idea what they are missing.  Maybe they think, as the priest at Mass said, that God wants to condemn them and so they avoid God at all costs!  Maybe they are afraid to even open themselves to God, knowing how much they have offended Him. And so they distract themselves with worldly pursuits and get really busy so they won't have to think about God.  At any rate, many people are living without God's love in their life, without His salvation.  They are living "unsuccessful" lives because they are not drawing from the well of salvation, the Heart of Jesus, all that they need.

God wants to save us.  He loves us so much that He gives us His Son, every day in the Eucharist. He loves us.  By our lives, may we help others to experience the love of God in us, and begin to desire it themselves.  Such love is contagious!

In Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and Blessed John Paul II!
