Novena to begin May 14 in Anchorage
All are welcome to the annual Santa Cruzan festival that takes place in Anchorage on Sunday, June 4.
The colorful religious procession commemorates the finding of the true Cross of Christ in Jerusalem around 312 A.D. by Queen Helena, the mother of Constantine the Great – the first Christian emperor of Rome.
Taking part in the pageant are a number of young Filipino women dressed to symbolize the theological virtues, Biblical women, the Blessed Mother under her various titles and Queen Helena. This year, a number of youth from the Archdiocese of Cotabato,Philippines will participate.
