St. Sixtus II and St. Cajetan

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Today I call you to the 'good'. Be carriers of peace and goodness in this world. Pray that God may give you the strength so that hope and pride may always reign in your heart and life because you are God's children and carriers of His hope to this world that is without joy in the heart, and is without a future, because it does not have its heart open to God who is your salvation. Thank you for having responded to my call." (July 25, 2012)

"Pray that God may give you the strength so that hope and pride may always reign in your heart and life because you are God's children and carriers of His hope to this world..."

I am still learning from this message of July 25. Our Lady really wants our hearts to be changed, to be filled with hope and with the peaceful "pride" of being children of God. This is a radical change for many of us. We are used to being ashamed of our faith, of our religiosity, of our adherence to the Word of God. We have lived in such a secular, godless society for so long, that we don't know who we really are, our true identity in Christ.

I received a lovely example of this change from Kathryn, who experienced the good fruit of living in the joy of children of God:

Hi Cathy! Have loved the discussions about this message.  Thank you so much, once again, for your ministry with Our Lady's messages.  The recent comments here reminded me of a personal story regarding "pride".

I was working long hours in a difficult situation for many, many weeks after the company I worked for took over management of a failing hotel.  I felt weak and fatigued and especially vulnerable because the woman who I reported to had singled me out to get rid of in retaliation for being demoted during the transition when we took over (she worked for the former company).  She was very intimidating and I felt unable to stand up to her even though I knew I needed to make some important changes in my department.  By the grace of God, I found a friend who listened to my ideas and confirmed my belief in my plan.  That was enough for me to get a good night's sleep, get a haircut and a new outfit - always good for a girl's ego.  I remembered who I was in a sense and took "pride" in that, which in turn gave me confidence, reducing my feelings of being overwhelmed.  Even though I was the underdog so to speak, I was emboldened to talk to the management staff about the changes I needed even though they were a bit radical.

The point is that the feeling of "pride" gave me self-confidence to proceed against some heavy odds. I knew what I was suggesting for my department was the correct thing and I had a history of making similar "right choices".

We are in a political and social climate similar to what I was in at work.  Things sometimes seem stacked against us and it may make a person feel overwhelmed.  Pride in our Faith, in our Church, in our priests, should give us confidence and fortitude to stand up and proceed.  We have a long history of success and the promises of Jesus and of Our Lady that we will not fail.  I can see how important this message is.  Our Lady is so wise.  We are united in our pride if it is placed in the fact that we are children of God.

Kathryn shared later that her ideas were accepted and the hotel went from being the worst to being the best in a very short time because of her suggestions. It was a learning experience for her. Truth is truth, and we should never be ashamed of it! And the truth is that God loves us, and we are His little children. We should have only joy in our hearts!

I hope you can watch Fruit of Medjugorje, Episode 7! It is a beautiful sharing from one of the original prayer group members in Medjugorje!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
