Our Lady prays for Holiness in Families and for Youth

August 30, 2013 A.D.
As summer begins to yield to fall, tonight the air was chilly yet refreshing at the Blue Cross on Apparition Mountain where Our Lady appeared to Ivan just before 10:00 p.m. By 7:00 p.m., many pilgrims had already staked out the spots that would be closest to the Blue Cross where Our Lady would appear, and a few thousand pilgrims began to sprinkle in to the area surround the Blue Cross over the next 3 hours. Ivan’s prayer group led the crowd in a rosary in preparation for the apparition. The apparition began with silence but was quickly interrupted by the screaming of a demonic, which however lasted for only a minute. The apparition lasted approximately 9 minutes. After the apparition to Ivan on August 30, 2013 on Apparition Mountain, which took place just before 10:00 p.m., Ivan said:
“I would like to especially set out what is the most important from tonight’s meeting together with Our Lady. Also tonight Our Lady came to us joyful and happy and at the beginning, She greeted all of us with Her Motherly greeting, ‘Praised be Jesus, my dear children.’ Then She extended Her hands over all of us and for a longer time prayed over all of us here. She especially prayed over you sick present here and over the priests.

“Then Our Lady blessed all of us with Her Motherly blessing, and She also blessed everything you brought to be blessed. After that, Our Lady for a longer time especially prayed for holiness in families and for the youth.
“I then recommended all of you, all your needs, your intentions, your families and in a special way, all of the sick present. After that, Our Lady continued to especially pray for the families and then left in an illuminated Sign of the Cross with a greeting, ‘Go in peace my dear children.’

Ivan prayer group August 30, 2013 in MedjugorjeA young woman, tucked away from the crowds who gathered for tonight’s apparition at the Blue Cross, reads and prays by the light of a lantern as she prepares for Our Lady. These moments of prayer are critical for every single person as it is in our prayer that we plant the seeds of Our Lady’s words into each of our hearts. If we stood in a large dark room, the darkness could be penetrated by a single lighted candle. Our Lady has come to bring light into our darkness, or as Ivan recently said, to wake us up from our spiritual comas:
“In these years, Our Lady is waking us up from spiritual coma that this world is in. And She would like to strengthen us in our faith and in our prayer. I pray that each one of us will answer Our Lady’s invitation, that we will accept Her messages, and that all together we will become co-creators of a better and more beautiful world, a world that is worthy of the children of God. These days when you are here I pray that you will plant a good seed and I hope that that seed will fall to the fertile soil and it will bear a good fruit, a beautiful flower. The time we live in is the time of responsibility. We need to be responsible. Our Lady is inviting us to responsibility, that we may accept the word of Christ in a responsible way, that we may accept Her message, the Good News, and to carry that Good News into the world so that we will actively participate in prayer, in the evangelization of this world, in families. Let us decide for peace. Let us decide for God. Only in God do we have our true and genuine peace. Dear friends, may it be so.”

Sunset at Ivan's Prayer Group, August 30, 2013Tonight’s sunset casted brilliant shades of color over Medjugorje to warm the soul, but gradually those colors faded, as the light faded, into darkness and into night. God speaks to us through His creation, with every sunrise and sunset. Our Lady said:
September 25, 1998

"… Little children, you seek signs and messages and do not see that, with every morning sunrise, God calls you to convert and to return to the way of truth and salvation…”

A Friend of Medjugorje wrote recently the following:
“Our Lady said on June 25, 1993
“…these times are particular…”
Our Lady’s phase for us in this particular time is bringing us out of the gray zone, with a call to all children of the world, a clear illumination of how to imitate Her Son. Our Lady wants us to see, again, that where black and white meet, there is a distinct line, not moveable. No more of living the light and dark together. Purify ourselves from all darkness. When you are asleep or half awake you cannot identify the darkness in you, that even as a Christian, you have aspects of unbelief. As we fast, pray, do penance and live peace, we can see that grayness is no longer acceptable and rapidly—very rapidly, is disappearing. People must decide for a future with the light or without the light.”

Child at Ivan's Prayer Group, August 30, 2013
It’s a fast day, even for little children, in Medjugorje. A little boy holds a chunk of bread while playing with a flashlight, oblivious to the purpose of why he has been brought to the Blue Cross on Apparition Mountain tonight. It may be years before he understands how blessed he was to be in Our Lady’s presence on August 30, 2013, at tonight’s apparition in Medjugorje. Yet, even though he lacks understanding, his parents are raising him in living Our Lady’s messages—which includes building in him the love of bread on Wednesdays and Fridays. In the Caritas Community, it is by the witness of the adults that the children also participate on fast days. If a child sees that fasting is a positive experience for the adults around him, he will naturally go towards wanting to be a part of that experience. On the other hand, if fasting is done with complaining and negative feelings, a child will learn not to want to fast. All of our children regularly see bread being made in their own kitchens, love smelling it while its baking, and with hands outstretched are ready to receive a warm chunk of bread as readily as if it were a piece of candy. Fasting for our children has always been “a way of life”—built into the fabric of their lives from the very beginning. How much easier it will be for them to embrace fasting when they become adults, then for us who had to “discipline” ourselves, after our conversion, to build fasting into our lives.

P.S. There is still time to call in to Caritas to sign up for the 9-day bread and water fast beginning on September 26. You can call Caritas in the US at 205-672-2000. More information about the 9-day bread and water fast with the fasting prayers can be found by visiting here...
