Spiritual Gems -The Role of God's Mother: the Flame of Love- August 31, 2013

An Extraordinary Grace for our Times
The Role of God's Mother: the Flame of Love

Our Blessed Mother:

"The Flame of Love full of blessings springing from My Immaculate Heart...must go from heart to heart.  It will be the Great Miracle of light blinding Satan.  It is the fire of love and peace among men; and we will suppress fire with fire: the fire of heat with the fire of Love, so that many souls can be saved from eternal damnation.  I am asserting that there has never been before such a similar outpouring.  It is the greatest miracle I am doing.  I obtained this grace on your behalf from the Eternal Father by virtue of the five Blessed wounds of my Divine Son."

Our Lord:

"I could compare this torrential flood of Grace to the first Pentecost.  It will submerge the earth by the power of the Holy Spirit.   All mankind will take heed at the time of this great miracle.  The torrential flow of the Flame of Love of My Most Holy Mother is coming.  The world which is darkened already by a lack of Faith will undergo formidable tremors and then people will believe!...This renewing of the earth tested by suffering will take place through the power and imploring force of the Blessed Virgin!

Our Lady prays for Holiness in Families and for Youth

August 30, 2013 A.D.
As summer begins to yield to fall, tonight the air was chilly yet refreshing at the Blue Cross on Apparition Mountain where Our Lady appeared to Ivan just before 10:00 p.m. By 7:00 p.m., many pilgrims had already staked out the spots that would be closest to the Blue Cross where Our Lady would appear, and a few thousand pilgrims began to sprinkle in to the area surround the Blue Cross over the next 3 hours. Ivan’s prayer group led the crowd in a rosary in preparation for the apparition. The apparition began with silence but was quickly interrupted by the screaming of a demonic, which however lasted for only a minute. The apparition lasted approximately 9 minutes. After the apparition to Ivan on August 30, 2013 on Apparition Mountain, which took place just before 10:00 p.m., Ivan said:
“I would like to especially set out what is the most important from tonight’s meeting together with Our Lady. Also tonight Our Lady came to us joyful and happy and at the beginning, She greeted all of us with Her Motherly greeting, ‘Praised be Jesus, my dear children.’ Then She extended Her hands over all of us and for a longer time prayed over all of us here. She especially prayed over you sick present here and over the priests.

“Then Our Lady blessed all of us with Her Motherly blessing, and She also blessed everything you brought to be blessed. After that, Our Lady for a longer time especially prayed for holiness in families and for the youth.
“I then recommended all of you, all your needs, your intentions, your families and in a special way, all of the sick present. After that, Our Lady continued to especially pray for the families and then left in an illuminated Sign of the Cross with a greeting, ‘Go in peace my dear children.’

Ivan prayer group August 30, 2013 in MedjugorjeA young woman, tucked away from the crowds who gathered for tonight’s apparition at the Blue Cross, reads and prays by the light of a lantern as she prepares for Our Lady. These moments of prayer are critical for every single person as it is in our prayer that we plant the seeds of Our Lady’s words into each of our hearts. If we stood in a large dark room, the darkness could be penetrated by a single lighted candle. Our Lady has come to bring light into our darkness, or as Ivan recently said, to wake us up from our spiritual comas:
“In these years, Our Lady is waking us up from spiritual coma that this world is in. And She would like to strengthen us in our faith and in our prayer. I pray that each one of us will answer Our Lady’s invitation, that we will accept Her messages, and that all together we will become co-creators of a better and more beautiful world, a world that is worthy of the children of God. These days when you are here I pray that you will plant a good seed and I hope that that seed will fall to the fertile soil and it will bear a good fruit, a beautiful flower. The time we live in is the time of responsibility. We need to be responsible. Our Lady is inviting us to responsibility, that we may accept the word of Christ in a responsible way, that we may accept Her message, the Good News, and to carry that Good News into the world so that we will actively participate in prayer, in the evangelization of this world, in families. Let us decide for peace. Let us decide for God. Only in God do we have our true and genuine peace. Dear friends, may it be so.”
Medjugorje visionary Ivan to pilgrims on June 6, 2013 in Medjugorje

Sunset at Ivan's Prayer Group, August 30, 2013Tonight’s sunset casted brilliant shades of color over Medjugorje to warm the soul, but gradually those colors faded, as the light faded, into darkness and into night. God speaks to us through His creation, with every sunrise and sunset. Our Lady said:
September 25, 1998

"… Little children, you seek signs and messages and do not see that, with every morning sunrise, God calls you to convert and to return to the way of truth and salvation…”

A Friend of Medjugorje wrote recently the following:
“Our Lady said on June 25, 1993
“…these times are particular…”
Our Lady’s phase for us in this particular time is bringing us out of the gray zone, with a call to all children of the world, a clear illumination of how to imitate Her Son. Our Lady wants us to see, again, that where black and white meet, there is a distinct line, not moveable. No more of living the light and dark together. Purify ourselves from all darkness. When you are asleep or half awake you cannot identify the darkness in you, that even as a Christian, you have aspects of unbelief. As we fast, pray, do penance and live peace, we can see that grayness is no longer acceptable and rapidly—very rapidly, is disappearing. People must decide for a future with the light or without the light.”
A Friend of Medjugorje from his writing: “ What Colors Mixed Make Gray?”

Child at Ivan's Prayer Group, August 30, 2013
It’s a fast day, even for little children, in Medjugorje. A little boy holds a chunk of bread while playing with a flashlight, oblivious to the purpose of why he has been brought to the Blue Cross on Apparition Mountain tonight. It may be years before he understands how blessed he was to be in Our Lady’s presence on August 30, 2013, at tonight’s apparition in Medjugorje. Yet, even though he lacks understanding, his parents are raising him in living Our Lady’s messages—which includes building in him the love of bread on Wednesdays and Fridays. In the Caritas Community, it is by the witness of the adults that the children also participate on fast days. If a child sees that fasting is a positive experience for the adults around him, he will naturally go towards wanting to be a part of that experience. On the other hand, if fasting is done with complaining and negative feelings, a child will learn not to want to fast. All of our children regularly see bread being made in their own kitchens, love smelling it while its baking, and with hands outstretched are ready to receive a warm chunk of bread as readily as if it were a piece of candy. Fasting for our children has always been “a way of life”—built into the fabric of their lives from the very beginning. How much easier it will be for them to embrace fasting when they become adults, then for us who had to “discipline” ourselves, after our conversion, to build fasting into our lives.

P.S. There is still time to call in to Caritas to sign up for the 9-day bread and water fast beginning on September 26. You can call Caritas in the US at 205-672-2000. More information about the 9-day bread and water fast with the fasting prayers can be found by visiting here...

August 30, 2013

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Also today, the Most High is giving me the grace to be with you and to lead you towards conversion. Every day I am sowing and am calling you to conversion, that you may be prayer, peace, love - the grain that by dying will give birth a hundredfold. I do not desire for you, dear children, to have to repent for everything that you could have done but did not want to. Therefore, little children, again, with enthusiasm say: 'I want to be a sign to others.' Thank you for having responded to my call." (August 25, 2013)

Today we arrive at the difficult sentence in Our Lady's message, the one everyone is discussing!

"I do not desire for you, dear children, to have to repent for everything that you could have done but did not want to."

It reminds me of a memorable moment in J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings", when Mr. Bilbo Baggins is giving a speech to most of his relatives and he says something rather puzzling:

"I shall not keep you long, he cried." Cheers from all the assembly. "I have called you all together for a Purpose." Something in the way that he said this made an impression. There was almost silence, and one or two of the Tooks pricked up their ears.

"Indeed, for Three Purposes! First of all, to tell you that I am immensely fond of you all, and that eleventy-one years is too short a time to live among such excellent and admirable hobbits." Tremendous outburst of approval.

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve." This was unexpected and rather difficult. There was some scattered clapping, but most of them were trying to work it out and see if it came to a compliment. (J.R.R. Tolkien. "The Fellowship of the Ring. Chapter 1, A Long Expected Party.)

I can't help but chuckle at this "difficult" sentence in Tolkien's great book. And actually it does work out to a compliment of sorts. But I feel like this sentence in Our Lady's message is similarly contorted and difficult.

For me it says that Our Lady does not want me to look back on my life and see that I had the possibility and ability to do many good things and I chose not to do them. She doesn't want me to look back and regret the sins of omissions I have made. When we face the Lord at the end of our lives, we will have to give an account of our choices. It is then that we will have the last chance to repent of our poor decisions. But it will be very late, and we will see all the good we could have done and rue it.

And for me, the key to understanding this sentence is in the very next sentence: "Therefore, little children, again, with enthusiasm say: 'I want to be a sign to others.'" Therefore...The antidote to regretting our past, repenting of our past, being sorry for our past, is to choose with enthusiasm to be a sign! To be one who lives Our Lady's messages, who chooses every day to fast, to pray, to read Scripture, to attend Holy Mass, to love one's neighbor, to go to confession and to love God with one's whole heart, mind, soul and strength! This is how to live every moment to the utmost so that we will not regret anything. All will be well for us! And we will have the joy of having pointed the way to happiness and holiness to others as well.

Our Lady wants us to live life to the full. She wants us to love with all our hearts! To do this, we need to pray for her heart to be in us. With her heart, our desires will be her desires, and we will do all those things that we "could have done". Her heart will align us with the Gospel, with the life of self-sacrificing love, and we will end our lives very happy!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

The grain that dies...

The Passion of St. John the Baptist

Our Lady calls us to conversion, just as mothers call their children to convert, to convert from their childish ways and learn to be more responsible, more helpful, etc. I believe the seeds Our Lady sows every day are the seeds of conversion in us. She sows those seeds of faith that lead us towards God. She tirelessly introduces into our lives the things we need to hear, to experience, to investigate, so that we can learn about God and begin to desire Him alone. These seeds of conversion come to us from our Mother's heart, through the power of the Holy Spirit. They are her messages.

Our Lady tells us in this message that she wants us to BE prayer, peace, love... She wants us to become these things. How does this happen? By living her messages. Here are just three messages that she has given us, which help us to become prayer, peace and love:

Prayer: "Dear children! Today I call you to be strong and resolute in faith and prayer, until your prayers are so strong so as to open the Heart of my beloved Son Jesus. Pray little children, pray without ceasing until your heart opens to God's love. I am with you and I intercede for all of you and I pray for your conversion. Thank you for having responded to my call." (May 25, 2013)

Peace: "Dear children, As the Queen of Peace, I desire to give peace to you, my children, true peace which comes through the heart of my Divine Son. As a mother I pray that wisdom, humility and goodness may come to reign in your hearts; that peace may reign; that my Son may reign. When my Son will be the ruler in your hearts, you will be able to help others to come to know Him. When heavenly peace comes to rule over you, those who are seeking it in the wrong places, thus causing pain to my motherly heart, will recognize it. My children, great will be my joy when I see that you are accepting my words and that you desire to follow me. Do not be afraid, you are not alone. Give me your hands and I will lead you. Do not forget your shepherds. Pray that in their thoughts they may always be with my Son who called them to witness Him. Thank you." (April 2, 2012)

Love: "Dear children, I am continuously among you because, with my endless love, I desire to show you the door of Heaven. I desire to tell you how it is opened: through goodness, mercy, love and peace - through my Son. Therefore, my children, do not waste time on vanities. Only knowledge of the love of my Son can save you. Through that salvific love and the Holy Spirit He chose me and I, together with Him, am choosing you to be apostles of His love and will. My children, great is the responsibility upon you. I desire that by your example you help sinners regain their sight, enrich their poor souls and bring them back into my embrace. Therefore, pray, pray, fast and confess regularly. If receiving my Son in the Eucharist is the center of your life then do not be afraid, you can do everything. I am with you. Every day I pray for the shepherds and I expect the same of you. Because, my children, without their guidance and strengthening through their blessing, you cannot do it. Thank you." (June 02, 2012)

These are but three examples of the messages that Our Lady has given us as seeds to be sown in our hearts. These seeds will help us to actually die to ourselves, so that the life of Christ will begin to reign in us. As we listen to Our Lady's words, we will let go of our own desires, our own expectations about life, and slowly and carefully begin to live for Jesus and for His kingdom. The tireless work of our Mother will help us to "die" to self, and "live" for God alone. This selfless living will bring heaven to earth, and many hearts will be softened and changed by our gift of self for their sakes.

We want to be the dying seeds that once sown give life to others. Mother Mary is here to help us. As a tireless mother, she will succeed.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

"Every day I am sowing and am calling you to conversion, that you may be prayer, peace, love - the grain that by dying will give birth a hundredfold."

Mothers are particularly good at persisting in a task and doing it every day. I relearned that truth yesterday, when I was given the awesome opportunity to care for three of my granddaughters for the afternoon: Licy who is 9, Ana who is 4 and ShoSho who is almost 2. Grandmothers can forget how many little tasks appear in the simple living of life with little ones. ShoSho needed a sippy cup with "melonade" in it. Ana needed milk, then water, then "melonade", then chocolate milk. There were diapers to change, and emergency trips to the bathroom. There was drama! There were lunches and snacks and questions to be answered, and shoes to be found. There were pictures to draw, and words to help write, and lots of hugging to do! Well, after a few hours, I was done for! And this was only a sampling of what their mother does on a daily basis.

I realized that all these "jobs" done for the children are opportunities to sow something in their lives. By patience, kindness, attention to detail, careful listening, I could show them my love and God's love for them, and help them to grow in wisdom and love for themselves and others. This daily workout is like sowing the seeds of love, peace and prayer in their lives. Well worth the effort!!

When Our Lady says that she is doing something every day, we know that she means what she says. She is that good Mother who attends to our needs, nonstop, because she knows we need to be raised up, fed, listened too, served and taught. She takes every opportunity in the day to show us her love, God's love, and to help us grow in wisdom and love for ourselves and others. If we turn to her, she is there to mother us into holiness at each turn.

Our task is to recognize that Mother Mary is with us to mother us, and to let her do it. Through prayer we can stay present to her, and experience her motherly ministrations. She is not far from us, only a "Hail Mary" away. And I know better now how quickly she answers my call. My granddaughters commanded my attention all afternoon, and I willingly obeyed. Our Lady is a much more attentive mother than I ever will be!! Aren't we the most blessed of children!

The grace of conversion in Medjugorje
(c)Mary TV 2013

J.M.J.

St. Monica

This message is dense with meaning. It is complicated, and rich. And it is very timely. Our Lady first reminds us once again that she is with us only because the Most High has given her the grace to come to us. This time when she is appearing to the visionaries of Medjugorje is a special time of grace, a time set aside by God to be a blessing to the people of the earth.

It is a very unusual, very remarkable time. Someone from heaven has been given the "all clear" to descend to earth and to make her presence known to us through chosen visionaries. That someone, that heavenly person who enjoys eternal bliss with God, is the Blessed Virgin Mary. She is a real, historic figure. Yet she lives. And she comes to us now to tell us God exists, there is eternal life, and that God is calling us. She has been chosen by the Father to come and to stir up the faith of the today's blind and suffering humanity. This is indeed a very special time of grace.

I don't think we have yet understood the enormity of this reality. Always before Our Lady would be allowed to appear for short amounts of time, in a very limited way. Think of Fatima (6 months with one apparition each month in 1917) or Lourdes (18 apparitions in the spring and summer of 1858) or Guadalupe (5 apparitions from December 9 to 12 in 1531). These three apparitions have had a huge effect in the world. But Our Lady is with us now in Medjugorje as never before. She has appeared to the visionaries every day for over 32 years! This is beyond all expectation. And even more wonderful, her presence is felt by the pilgrims in Medjugorje in a special way as well. And still beyond that, she is communicating her presence to all who seek her, through her messages, even if they cannot go to Medjugorje. She is here with us to help us find faith and grow in love with God. She is with us to deliver us from the darkness of our age. She is with us to bring us, through conversion, into the arms of our Savior.

It seems that with this message, there is a grace being given to us. It is the grace to understand the enormity of God's plan through Mary in Medjugorje. There is a grace to grasp with our whole hearts the power and promise of this moment we are living in. Our Lady is with us. "Also today, the Most High is giving me the grace to be with you and to lead you towards conversion." Also today! After 32 years, also today Mary is with us in Medjugorje. This gift of God is not to be overlooked, yawned at, disregarded. When God gives such a gift, we must accept it and treasure it. This gift is important, maybe even apocalyptic.

May we ponder this gift, meditate upon it, and respond to it with open hearts. God is doing something great in our time. Let us be glad and rejoice!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

CMMB: Your Weekly Reflection in Prayer 8/25/2013

Weekly prayer reflection for Summer

“People will come from the east and the west and from the north and the south and will recline at a table in the Kingdom of God. For behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”

Luke 13:29-30  August 25, 2013
21st Sunday in Ordinary Time
Dear Friends,
A few weeks ago, Pope Francis shocked many by saying that even atheists are redeemed by the Blood of Christ! “We are created children in the likeness of God and the Blood of Christ has redeemed us all.” The Holy Father did not say that everyone, including the atheist WILL be saved, but he simply repeated the teaching of the Second Vatican Council that atheists can get to heaven. Here is what is read in Vatican II’s Dogmatic Constitution on the Church (#16): “Nor shall divine providence deny the assistance necessary for salvation to those, who, without any fault of theirs, have not arrived at an explicit knowledge of God and who, not without grace, strive to lead a good life.” Is not this what Jesus is saying in the gospel, that many will come from east and west and take their place at table in the Kingdom? God’s love reaches out to all, as this prayer reminds us. And then we in turn show that love to others, as we “strive to lead a good life.”
Eternal God, we live among peoples whose ways are different from ours, whose faiths are foreign to us, whose tongues are unintelligible to us. Help us to remember that You love all people with Your great love, that all religion is an attempt to respond to You, that the yearnings of other hearts are much like our own. Help us to recognize You in the words of truth, the things of beauty, the actions of love about us.
Amen

Spiritual Gems -What is the Sacrifice that Pleases God Most?- August 24, 2013

What is the Sacrifice that Pleases God Most?

Try and avoid the little faults.  Ask Me to help you see them more clearly.  You will not dare to repeat them; you will be on the watch not to hurt Me.  And when you notice you have done wrong, you will ask Me to forgive you.  My Heart has seen everything and is ready to forget, because it listens to your words of distress and humility.  Oh the power of repentance!  The sacrifice that pleases me is a contrite heart.  So be My very little one.

From Mark Mallett: Fresh Breeze

Mark

Fresh Breeze

THERE is a new breeze blowing through my soul. In the darkest of nights these past several months, it has been barely a whisper. But now it is beginning to sail through my soul, lifting my heart toward Heaven in a new way. I sense the love of Jesus for this little flock gathered here daily for Spiritual Food. It is a love that conquers. A love that has overcome the world. A love that will overcome all that is coming against us in the times ahead. You who are coming here, be of courage! Jesus is going to feed and strengthen us! He is going to equip us for the Great Trials that now loom over the world like a woman about to enter hard labour.
I have not stopped watching in these summer months. But like Mary, I have only been able to “ponder these things” in my heart without the grace to write much. But now the wind is filling my sails again, and I am eager to return to both the pen and the camera as the Lord guides me.
What can I say to you—so many of you who have written with words of encouragement, wisdom, and solace? I read every letter sent to me (even though it is has been impossible to reply to every one), and they have all fed my soul, given me strength to continue, and a renewed sense of purpose. So thank you… thank you for your filial love and prayers, not only for me, but for my wife and children as well.

ON THE BRINK
As I have been writing and warning here for several years now, we are nearing major events in the world that will ultimately purify both it and the Church. From the economy, to Fukishima, to major shifts in climate, to social unrest, to Revolution, there is a perfect storm brewing. Yes, this too I hear in the breeze that, although gentle and warm right now, carries within it the tempest of justice. Over and over again it is clear to me that what the world faces is not the wrath of God, but the reaping of man’s choices, the harvest of nearly a hundred years of rebellion and corruption. How many times has God called us back to himself through His Mother! How many gifts have we been sent through the likes of St. Faustina, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and courageous pontiffs who have directed the Barque of Peter through the most tumultuous of times? Mercy never runs out. But time does. And time is nearly gone for this generation.

THIS FALL
So this September, I will begin to resume putting forward what the Holy Spirit has been seeding in my heart these past months. And yes, this is more possible now because of your financial support. We have a goal to have 1000 readers donate $10 monthly to this ministry to meet all our office, staff, technological etc. needs. We are now 53 percent of the way there. The good news is that we are moving toward our goal. The bad news is that we are still running a deficit until we reach at least 75-80%. We need just under another 500 people to commit to only $10 a month, or 100 people to commit $50 a month, etc. etc. Please pray about helping me reach others through this ministry that has been a “lifeline” for so many, according to the letters we receive. Just click the donate button below.
Last of all, to all the priests who read this blog, know that I carry you especially in my heart. You are God’s chosen sons to bring Jesus and His mercy to us. Through your “yes”, your fiat, the world is being sustained in ways that we can barely understand. The Mass is the most powerful prayer on earth, for it is Jesus Himself through you that atonement is made for the world over and over again through the single act of Calvary. Would you, my dear brothers and fathers in Christ, consider saying one Mass for the re-launch of this ministry this September? Know that I keep you in my daily prayers.
And to all my other readers, both religious and lay, please raise a prayer to Heaven that through my webcasts and blogs to come, that the power of Satan will be broken in many lives, and that Jesus will begin to reign again where there was once darkness.
To Christ Jesus be the victory, now and forever!

We continue to climb toward the goal of 1000 people donating $10/month and are just over half way there.
Thanks for your support for this full time ministry.

August 23, 2013 Message through Ivan on Apparition Hill

J.M.J.
August 23, 2013
Dear Family of Mary!

This night, on Apparition Hill, Ivan's prayer group met, and Our Lady appeared to Ivan. Here is Ivan's account of his encounter with Our Lady (translation by Nancy Latta on the hill):

Ivan said: What I would like to do is describe what is most important from tonight's meeting with Our Lady. At the beginning I would like to say that the meeting with Our Lady is truly difficult to describe in words, it is difficult to find the right words that I might be able to say everything. That is why I use the words that I have, and I have decided to share with you what is most important.

Also today, Our Lady came to us very joyful and happy. At the beginning she greeted all of us with her usual motherly greeting: "Praised be Jesus, my dear children." Then Our Lady extended her arms over all of us present here and for a longer time prayed over all of us in her Aramaic Language. Then Our Lady especially prayed over all of you present who are sick here.

Then Our Lady said, "Dear children, also today I call you, open your hearts to peace. Dear children, pray. Pray to the King of Peace that He may grant you peace. Open yourselves to Him. He is your King. Dear children, in a special way during this time pray for peace in the world, pray for my plans that I desire to realize, plans of peace. Pray dear children, pray that peace may reign in the world. Thank you also today for having said "yes" to my call."

After that Our Lady blessed all of us with her motherly blessing. Also she blessed all that you have brought to be blessed. As always, also tonight, I recommended all of you, all of your needs, your intentions, your families, and in a special way all of the present who are sick here and those who have in a special way recommended themselves to our prayers.

After that Our Lady continued with her arms extended to pray over all of us and after the prayer she left in an illuminated sign of the Cross with the greeting, "Go in peace, my dear children."

This would be the most important from tonight's meeting. I would like to repeat that in two days we are expecting a message that will be directed to the whole world and we will see what Our Lady desires and asks of us. Thank you.

Thank you to our Mary TV team for recording this translation! Let's try to respond to Our Lady's call for prayer for peace. Remember that first we need peace in our own hearts!! Pray, pray, pray!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
