LOUISVILLE, Dec. 8, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- "The Power of the Rosary" is the theme for the next Goodness Reigns International Film Contest sponsored by Our Lady's Rosary Makers. The top prize is $1,000.

People of all ages, Catholics and non-Catholics alike, are invited to investigate and then craft a short film on the Rosary, a powerful tool for praying the Gospel story.

How has the Rosary aided you or someone you know, brought strength to a cause, shaped a saint or contributed to history and society? Show us through documentaries, testimonials, dramas or interviews. If you've never made a short film or if you wish to improve your filmmaking abilities, access our online film school at www.GoodnessReigns.com to view short how-to videos on filmmaking.

Submissions will be judged for their creative approach to the subject and appeal to young people and a secular audience. The public will be invited to vote for their favorite films during the People's Choice Voting Period in May 2015.

All films must be five minutes or less in length and may be in languages other than English, but participants must provide English subtitles or a translated script.

Final deadline for all films is April 1, 2015.

About Our Lady's Rosary Makers
Our Lady's Rosary Makers was founded in 1949 by Xaverian Brother Sylvan Mattingly, C.F.X. on the premise that he would teach people to make Rosaries and distribute them freely to missionaries. OLRM provides support, resources, and materials in the spirit of Br. Sylvan's mission and vision. We are a member-driven, non-profit, Catholic lay apostolate within the Archdiocese of Louisville. Our diverse and active members spread devotion through the Immaculate Heart of Mary by making and sharing the Rosary with the world's spiritually needy.
