Dear Family of Mary!

Ever since Easter Vigil Mass, I have had something reverberating in my mind. It is a simply these words: "Forever and ever, forever and ever, forever and ever and ever and ever...." Yes, these are words from the Halleluiah Chorus by Handel who is quoting the book of Revelations: "Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever." (Rev. 11:15)

But I have begun hearing these words in a new way. They are actually being sung into my consciousness. They are taking on a reality within me that I had not had before. I think it is the Holy Spirit trying to accustom me to the idea of eternity. "Forever and ever, forever and ever, Halleluiah, Halleluiah..."

Our Lady has given messages about eternity. Here is one that stands out:

"My children; Again, in a motherly way, I implore you to stop for a moment and to reflect on yourselves and on the transience of this your earthly life. Then reflect on eternity and the eternal beatitude. What do you want? Which way do you want to set out on? The Father`s love sends me to be a Mediatrix for you, to show you with motherly love the way which leads to the purity of soul; a soul unburdened by sin; a soul that will come to know eternity. I am praying that the light of the love of my Son may illuminate you, so that you may triumph over weaknesses and come out of misery. You are my children and I desire for all of you to be on the way of salvation. Therefore, my children, gather around me that I may have you come to know the love of my Son and thus open the door of eternal beatitude. Pray as I do for your shepherds. Again I caution you: do not judge them, because my Son chose them. Thank you." July 02, 2012

To open the door of eternal beatitude....this is what seems to be happening to me this Easter. I feel the call to embrace eternity as my reality, as my true destiny. I have not been able to do that up till now. Eternity has been a frightening thought for me because of my fear that I may end up on the wrong side of the fence for ever. I have had a fear of damnation. Will God have mercy on me, sinful as I am?

Well, I think He is trying to tell me that He does have mercy great enough even for me. This song of eternity that is going through my brain is not frightening, it is comforting. It is life-giving, and hopeful. I think it is a grace of Divine Mercy that I have received because of this novena and the great graces of Easter and Divine Mercy!

Anita heard me talking about "forever" and sent me this passage from St. Faustina's diary that really helps:

"Once, when I was deeply moved by the thought of eternity and its mysteries, my soul became fearful; and when I pondered about these a little longer, I started to be troubled by various doubts. Then Jesus said to me:   'My child, do not be afraid of the house of your Father.'" (St. Faustina Kowalska, Diary 290)

My Father's house...this is eternity. This is forever and ever and ever...my Father's house. This is where every child wants to be. This is home. Eternity will be home to me, to us. And so Our Lady says to us, "Therefore, my children, gather around me that I may have you come to know the love of my Son and thus open the door of eternal beatitude." Our Mother is with us to help us set our sites on our true home. She is with us to accustom us to the love of Jesus and to eternity, where we will be in our Father's house.

This is a grace of Divine Mercy!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
