The Divine Antidote: The Flame of Love Grace, the Triumph of Mary and the New Pentecost

For today’s Gem, I am asking you to go towww.divineantidote.wordpress.com to sign up to read a new blog we are doing to help all Catholics (and Christians of good will) to understand and implement God’s Plan for His Mother and her Immaculate Heart, especially the Flame of Love Grace, fully approved by our Church, which God so wishes to pour out on you!  The first blog post is long…quite the opposite of what we do here!!  However, it may be one of the most important insights you will ever receive from God.  We will post each week on the Flame of Love Grace,  imitating Christ by imitating His Mother and the Triumph of Mary and the New Pentecost.  Yes, there are incredible sufferings coming to draw all closer to God, but the coming era of peace will be an extraordinary time.  St. John Paul II has called it a time of the “New and Divine Holiness” where “Christ will be the heart of the world”, because where sin abounds; Grace abounds even more!

Mercy, the same one that the Virgin Mary celebrated in the Magnificat

Mercy, the same one that the Virgin Mary celebrated in the Magnificat

Saint John Paul II said that ''Lebanon is more than a country -- it is a message.'' What message was he talking about? For me, first of all, it is a message of mercy, the same mercy that the Virgin Mary sings about in the Magnificat. This message is needed more than ever, as the situation of our Muslim and Christian brethren has deteriorated in many places.

It is vital that at your school, dear brothers and sisters, dear Lebanese friends, we reclaim this term of "mercy," whose roots are as deep as those of the cedar, in order to spread out our branches harmoniously towards each other! Thus, nourished and strengthened by the sap of mercy, we will grow to heaven!

I like to point out that two of Jesus’ teachings in the Gospels can be put side by side. On the one side Jesus said: "Be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Mt 5:48), and in Luke: "Be merciful as your Father is merciful" (Luke 6:36). We can probably assume that it is mercy that bears the seal of spiritual perfection.

“The Explanation of the Co-redemptrix”

In her April 29, 1951 message, the Lady of All Nations reveals, “the new dogma shall be the dogma of the Co-redemptrix.” She goes on to say that in spite of great controversy, “the Church, Rome, will carry through with it and fight for it. The Church, Rome, will incur opposition and stand firm. The Church, Rome, will grow stronger and more powerful insofar as she stands firm in the fight.” Our Lady then urges theologians “onward to this fight.” After explaining the theology of her role as Co-redemptrix she says of this upcoming dogma, “I know, the struggle will be hard and bitter… but the outcome is already assured.” – Ed.

I see a bright light; the Lady slowly comes forth from it. Now I see her standing before me clearly, and she says,

I am standing here as the Lady of All Nations, and I come right…

“The Proclamation of the Co-redemptrix”

In this May 31, 1954 message from the Lady of All Nations (ecclesiastical approval, May 31, 2002, see “Church Approves Apparitions of the Lady of All Nations” article), Our Lady calls both theologians, bishops and the faithful to “work and ask for this dogma. You should petition the Holy Father for this dogma.” She also explains that the titles Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate are “three concepts in one,” that is three aspects of her one role as spiritual Mother of all humanity. Our Lady then gives the seer a vision of the proclamation of the dogma by the Holy Father in St. Peter’s Basilica and states “my prophecy that ‘all generations will call me blessed’ will be fulfilled more than ever once the Dogma has been proclaimed.” – Ed.

“Here I am again. The Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate is now standing before you. I have chosen this day—on this day…

Are You Afraid of Mary “Co-redemptrix”?

What is your first response when you hear someone refer to the mother of Jesus Christ as the “Co-redemptrix”?

Extreme? Excessive pietism, even if well-intended? Heresy? Only Jesus is the Redeemer. If not directly heresy, then extremely dangerous? At least anti-ecumenical?

Now let’s look at some people who have in fact called the Virgin Mary the Co-redemptrix: John Paul II (on six different occasions); Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta; St. Padre Pio, stigmatic wonder worker of the 20th century; Sr. Lucia, the Fatima visionary; St. Francis Cabrini, the first American citizen to be canonized; St. Jose Maria Escriva, founder of the Opus Dei; St. Edith Stein, co-patroness of Europe; papal theologians Cardinals Ciappi and Cottier; contemporary Church leaders such as Cardinal Schönborn, General Secretary of the Catechism of the Catholic Church; Mother Angelica, foundress of worldwide Catholic television and radio network EWTN; and a host of other saints, popes, mystics, prelates,…

Mary Co-redemptrix: A Response to 7 Common Objections

On December 23, 2000, The New York Times ran a cover story in its “Arts and Ideas” section on the Vox Populi Mariae Mediatrici movement, which seeks the papal definition of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix of all graces and Advocate. This article was in turn reprinted in a great number of U.S. major newspapers, thereby sparking renewed and high-spirited debate internationally over the concept of Our Lady as “Co-redemptrix,” both inside and outside Catholic circles of thought.

Although diverse in their formulation, most objections to Our Lady’s title of Co-redemptrix and her subsequent role in Coredemption fall into the same foundational categories (many of which were debated in recent publications in response to The New York Times piece). There is a critical need to articulate to the general public (let alone to the growing genus of uncatechized Catholic faithful), the basic doctrinal truths contained in the…

Mary Co-redemptrix: The What and the Why

In simple, yet poetic and profound language the third chapter of the Book of Genesis narrates the story of the fall of man. Three creatures play the major roles in this momentous drama: the serpent, the woman and the man. The serpent beguiles. The woman who was given to the man as his helpmate lets herself be beguiled and the man follows suit. The story seems deceptively simple, but it has monumental implications. The man, Adam, is the progenitor and head of the human family. The woman, Eve, is his companion. As partners they are equal, but they have different roles. He is the head of his wife and the head of the human family. “The whole human race is in Adam ‘as one body of one man.’ By this ‘unity of the human race’ all men are implicated in Adam’s sin” (1).
At the same time it…

Mary Co-redemptrix: Aid to Ecumenism

Telesphore P. Cardinal Toppo, former president of India’s National Conference of Catholic Bishops, granted the following interview with Zenit News Service concerning the drive for the new solemn definition of a fifth Marian dogma that would define Mary’s spiritual maternity under its three essential aspects—Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix of all graces, and Advocate. Contrary to the opinions of some who believe that such a solemn definition would adversely affect ecumenical relations, Cardinal Toppo believes that such a definition would enhance the ecumenical mission of the Church. “I have no doubt that non-Catholic Christians participating in ecumenical dialogue, either will find this position acceptable or at least will have no valid or convincing argument against it.”
—Asst. Ed.

RANCHI, India, MAY 5, 2008 – Proclaiming Mary as the Spiritual Mother of All Humanity would benefit ecumenical and interreligious dialogue because it would help non-Catholics to understand many things about the Mother of God, says…

Mary Co-redemptrix and the New Evangelization

In May 2001 Pope John Paul II called to Rome the cardinals of the world in a special consistory seeking to implement the pastoral directives for the new millennium as contained in his papal document Novo Millennio Ineunte (At the Beginning of the Third Millennium).

On the first day of the consistory, as the third official presenter to the College of Cardinals and in the presence of Pope John Paul II, His Eminence, Luis Cardinal Aponte Martínez, Archbishop of Puerto Rico, offered to the consistory the following presentation concerning the decisive role of the Mother of All Peoples in the imperative of the New Evangelization for the third millennium.

Your Holiness and my dear Brother Cardinals,
As we contemplate the imperative for the New Evangelization in light of Novo Millennio Ineunte, the question must be posed: who was the first to “hear the word of God…

Mother Teresa’s Letter of Support for Mary Co-redemptrix

Mary is our Coredemptrix with Jesus. She gave Jesus his body and suffered with him at the foot of the cross.
Mary is the Mediatrix of all grace. She gave Jesus to us, and as our Mother she obtains for us all his graces.
Mary is our Advocate who prays to Jesus for us. It is only through the Heart of Mary that we come to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus.
The papal definition of Mary as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate will bring great graces to the Church.
All for Jesus through Mary.
God Bless you,
Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Stabat Mater

At the Cross her station keeping,
Stood the mournful Mother weeping,
Close to Jesus to the last.
Through her Heart, His sorrow sharing,
All His bitter anguish bearing,
Now at length the sword has passed.
O how sad and sore distressed
Was that Mother highly blessed
Of the sole-begotten One!

Syrian Catholic Bishop: the declaration of the USA on the "genocide of Christians" is "an instrumental geopolitics operation"

ASIA/SYRIA - Syrian Catholic Bishop: the declaration of the USA on the "genocide of Christians" is "an instrumental geopolitics operation"

Hassaké (Agenzia Fides) - The path that led the US administration to recognizing the violence perpetrated by the Islamic State on Christians as "genocide", is "a geopolitical operation" that "exploits the category of genocide for their own interests". This is how Syrian Archbishop Jacques Behnan Hindo, at the head of the Syriac Catholic archieparchy in Hassaké-Nisibis, comments to Agenzia Fides the statements made yesterday by US Secretary of State John Kerry in response to the mobilization of groups and acronyms that have long urged US policy leadership to apply the definition of "genocide" to the various forms of brutality and oppression consumed by militants of the Islamic Caliphate on Christians and other minority groups.
"In my judgment", Kerry said yesterday, supporting the demands posed by a wide network of organizations and groups, "Daesh is responsible for genocide against groups in areas under its control, including Yezidis, Christians, and Shia Muslims. Daesh is genocidal by self-proclamation, by ideology, and by actions – in what it says, what it believes, and what it does".
According to Archbishop Hindo, who carries out his pastoral work in the most troubled areas of north-eastern Syria, "the proclamation of genocide is accomplished by pointing the spotlight on Daesh and censoring all the complicity and historical and political processes that led to the creation of the jihadist monster, since the war waged in Afghanistan against the Soviets by supporting armed Islamist groups. One wants to erase all the strange factors that led to the sudden and abnormal emergence of Daesh. While only until recently, there was even Turkish and Saudi pressure - US allied Countries - so that jihadists of al-Nusra Front would take their distance from al Qaida network, in order to be classified and maybe even helped by the West as 'moderate rebels ...' "
According to the Syrian Catholic Archbishop of Hassaké-Nisibis, the "genocide declaration against Christians" by the US Administration is also an attempt to recover, before the increased Russian prestige among the peoples of the Middle East: "the Russian intervention in Syria", said the Archbishop "has increased the authority of Moscow in a large sector of the Middle Eastern peoples, not only among Christians. Powerful circles in the US fear that, so now they play the card of protecting Christians. It seems we have gone back to the nineteenth century when the protection of the Christians in the Middle East was also an instrument of geopolitical operations to increase the influence in the region".
According to the Archbishop, interviewed by Agenzia Fides, it is also misleading to present Christians as exclusive or priority victims of the violence of Daesh: "Those fools" noted Mgr. Hindo "kill Shiites, Alawites and also all the Sunnis who do not submit to them. Christians represent a a minimum portion of the deaths of 200 thousand in the Syrian conflict. And I repeat, in some cases Christians are allowed to flee or to pay the fee of submission, while for non-Christians there is only death". (GV) (Agenzia Fides 18/03/2016).

“It's all in here! Everything is in here!”

Une Minute avec Marie

March 17 – Virgin of the French (Nagasaki, Japan) – Our Lady of Blaj (Romania)

“It's all in here! Everything is in here!”

Around 1930, Dr. Takashi Nagai, an atheist at the time (and future survivor of the atomic bomb in Nagasaki in 1945), visited a Polish Franciscan priest recently arrived in Japan—the future Saint Maximilian Kolbe. He tells this story:

"When he shook my hand, I realized he had a fever. I asked him: ‘Don’t you feel sick?’ – ‘Examine me!’ he replied with a bright smile. I examined him and exclaimed: ‘Father, this is serious! Both of your lungs have tuberculosis!’ Undaunted, he continued to smile and said: ‘Thank you, Doctor, you're a good doctor. Both in Rome and in Poland excellent doctors have told me the same thing for the past ten years.’ My reaction was to exclaim: ‘What? For ten years!?’

And this Knight of the Immaculate had been traveling the world for several years in this physical condition! As a physician, I was confronted with an incredible case, a challenge to science. And he continued to be active and cheerful although he only had the use of 1/5 of his lungs and a continual fever. Then, Father Kolbe gave me a Rosary, saying with a smile: ‘It's all in here! Everything is in here!’"

In 1934, Takashi Nagai asked to be baptized.

March 16 – Our Lady of the Fountain (Constantinople, 460)

“The flames caused no damage to the house”

The violent forest fires that ravaged the Turkish coast south of Ephesus in 2006 stopped suddenly, as if "by divine intervention," just 5 meters from the house of the Mother of God known as Meryemana, according to the Turkish newspaper Milliyet.

Tradition believes that it was in this house, located southeast of Ephesus on Mount Bulbul, that the Dormition of the Mother of God took place. "On our return to the House of Mary, we found a divine miracle: the flames that burned everything all around caused no damage to the house," said Sister Antonia Velasco.

Meryemana is one of the few Christian sites in Turkey that has not been left in disrepair by the Turkish authorities. A magnificent statue of the crowned Virgin has even been brought to the site and left undisturbed on the road leading to Mary’s House, kept, appropriately, by the Franciscan Custody. Salve Regina!
