Mary TV: August 31, 2017 Reflection - Do not forget Satan is strong...

 (c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017

"Dear children, put on the armor for battle
and with the Rosary in your hand defeat him!"

August 31, 2017
Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Today I am calling you to be people of prayer. Pray until prayer becomes a joy for you and a meeting with the Most High. He will transform your hearts and you will become people of love and peace. Do not forget, little children, that Satan is strong and wants to draw you away from prayer. You, do not forget that prayer is the secret key of meeting with God. That is why I am with you to lead you. Do not give up on prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call." (August 25, 2017)

"Do not forget, little children, that Satan is strong and wants to draw you away from prayer."

We know that we have an enemy. Satan desires to pull us away from God and to lead us into his eternal darkness. Of course what he offers us never looks dark or bad at first. But if what we are being tempted by draws us away from prayer and meeting with God, it probably is from our enemy.

Our Lady tells us "Do not forget..." because she knows how easy it is for us to forget!! We are so easily tricked. So easily side-tracked. She has warned us throughout her time in Medjugorje about Satan's plans to destroy us. She knows his tricks and wants to protect us from them:

January 24, 1985 "Dear children! These days you have experienced God's sweetness through the renewals which have been in this parish. Satan wants to work still more fiercely to take away your joy from each one of you. By prayer you can completely disarm him and ensure your happiness. Thank you for having responded to my call."

August 8, 1985 "Dear children! Today I call you especially now to advance against satan by means of prayer. Satan wants to work still more now that you know he is at work. Dear children, put on the armor for battle and with the Rosary in your hand defeat him! Thank you for having responded to my call."

October 16, 1986 "Dear children! Today again I want to show you how much I love you, but I am sorry that I am not able to help each one to understand my love. Therefore, dear children, I am calling you to prayer and complete surrender to God, because satan wants to sift you through everyday affairs and in your life he wants to snatch the first place. Therefore, dear children, pray without ceasing! Thank you for having responded to my call."

January 25, 1994 "Dear children! You are all my children. I love you. But, little children, you must not forget that without prayer you cannot be close to me. In these times satan wants to create disorder in your hearts and in your families. Little children, do not give in. You should not allow him to lead you and your life. I love you and intercede before God for you. Little children, pray. Thank you for having responded to my call."

January 25, 2015 "Dear children! Also today I call you: live your vocation in prayer. Now, as never before, Satan wants to suffocate man and his soul by his contagious wind of hatred and unrest. In many hearts there is no joy because there is no God or prayer. Hatred and war are growing from day to day. I am calling you, little children, begin anew, with enthusiasm, the walk of holiness and love; since I have come among you because of this. Together let us be love and forgiveness for all those who know and want to love only with a human love and not with that immeasurable love of God to which God calls you. Little children, may hope in a better tomorrow always be in your heart. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Though these warnings are strong, we know that Our Lady would only speak to us about the enemy to prepare us and protect us with the truth. And the antidote to all his lies and temptations is to pray. Pray without ceasing. Pray, pray, pray. This is the weapon. Especially the Rosary. As Our Lady said: "Dear children, put on the armor for battle and with the Rosary in your hand defeat him!"

Mary TV: August 30, 2017 Reflection - "You will become people of love and peace."

"He will transform your hearts and you will become people of love and peace."

Once we have meetings with God in prayer, Our Lady says something wonderful will happen. We will become people of love and peace! But for sure we will not become such people by our own power, or by the things we learn in prayer, or the ideas we discover in the encounter with God. No, not on our own power will we be changed. "He will transform your hearts..." We will be changed by God! He will transform us with His power, His creative love.

No matter how hard we try, we cannot transform ourselves. It is impossible. Our only hope is to surrender ourselves to God in prayer, in that prayer that becomes joy for us, and then open our hearts to Him and let Him change us.

Have you ever felt God changing you? Have you ever encountered the Lord in such a way that you allowed the Lord to be your Lord, to take over with His love and pour it into you like the sun pours its rays on the earth? This is when transformation occurs. It is in the trusting encounter of Creator and creature. This loving and trusting encounter is awesome! And Our Lady wants us to know that God is waiting for us, waiting to meet us and pour out His transforming love into our poor hearts so broken by sin and pain.

"He will transform your hearts..." He WILL do it. Our Lady doesn't say that He might do it, or probably He will do it. She says, "HE WILL TRANSFORM YOUR HEARTS..." All we have to do is pray "until..."

St. Faustina recounts a moment when she had a meeting with the Most High. She shares about this meeting as a transformation during a retreat:
I am coming out of this retreat thoroughly transformed by God's love. My soul is beginning a new life, earnestly and courageously; although outwardly my life will not change, and no one will notice it, nevertheless, pure love is [now] the guide of my life and, externally, it is mercy which is its fruit. I feel that I have been totally imbued with God and, with this God, I am going back to my everyday life, so drab, tiresome and wearying, trusting that he whom I feel in my heart will change this drabness into my personal sanctity.

In profound silence, close to Your merciful Heart, my soul is maturing during this retreat. In the clear rays of your love, my soul has lost its tartness and has become a sweet and ripe fruit.

Now I can be wholly useful to the Church by my personal sanctity, which throbs with life in the whole Church, for we all make up one organism in Jesus. That is why I endeavor to make the soil of my heart bear good fruit. Although the human eye may perhaps never see it, there will nevertheless come a day when it will become apparent that many souls have been fed and will continue to be fed with this fruit.

O Eternal Love, You who enkindle a new life within me, a life of love and of mercy. Support me with Your grace, so that I may worthily answer Your call, so that what You Yourself have intended to accomplish in souls through me, might indeed be accomplished. (Diary 1363-1365)

God's love transforms us. His love can heal our wounds, our broken hearts, our sorrows and disappointments, our discouragement and despondency. These are the things that block us, making us incapable of love. He can teach us to forgive, to ask forgiveness, to long for unity and blessing. He can transform our hearts into love! Then we can become love and peace for others, we can be useful for the Church, as St. Faustina said.

Our Mother is with us to help us encounter the Lord in prayer, and to enter into His transforming love. Thank you, Mother, for coming to us to do this. We would not even know how to begin without you.

Mary TV: August 29, 2017 Reflection - "Pray until..."

 (c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017

The Passion of St. John the Baptist

Dear Family of Mary!

August 25, 2017
"Dear children! Today I am calling you to be people of prayer. Pray until prayer becomes a joy for you and a meeting with the Most High. He will transform your hearts and you will become people of love and peace. Do not forget, little children, that Satan is strong and wants to draw you away from prayer. You, do not forget that prayer is the secret key of meeting with God. That is why I am with you to lead you. Do not give up on prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call."
"Pray until prayer becomes a joy for you and a meeting with the Most High."

It might be easy to pass over this sentence. But if we take a minute we can learn something here. Our Lady has always told us that we need to, "Pray until prayer becomes a joy for you." But do we really take her seriously?

The key of course is in the word "until". She doesn't say how long to pray. She doesn't give us lists of prayers to say. She merely says to "Pray until..." We should not stop praying "until" we actually have a meeting with the Most High. We need to pray "until" we are filled with joy. And we probably won't want to stop praying when the joy of the meeting with God happens! We will just continue!

Mike Nolan took a pilgrimage group to Medjugorje during the middle of August this year. He had a number of young people with him. He shared that Dominic, a college student, was asked what his favorite part of Medjugorje was.  He responded, "The Glorious Mysteries at the end of the evening program."  Dominic told Mike that after the first two Rosaries and Holy Mass, he could get deepest into prayer during the last Rosary. Mike added, "One night we didn't do the last Rosary but decided to go out to dinner right after Mass.  And Dominic and Austin (a fellow pilgrim) said, 'We will catch up with you after the last Rosary."  Clearly these young men had learned the "pray until" principle!!  They knew what it took to pray until prayer becomes a joy for you!

I also heard from Tracy Veno that she struggled with "praying until..." She wrote me about the August 25 message: "
I love this!!! One time I had to say 3 whole 15 decade rosaries before I could feel God's Joy and Love.... but it is true, it will happen :)"

Denis reminded me of some advice that Our Lady gave to Ivan Dragicevic: "If you want to pray better you have to pray more. To pray more is a personal decision. To pray better is a grace, a grace given to those who pray more!"

So you see, we just can't give up on prayer. (Our Lady said that, didn't she! "Do not give up on prayer.") The "pray until" principle tells us that we just have to give ourselves to prayer, to continue to pray, no matter what. I think it is actually an act of spiritual warfare when we don't stop praying. We actively turn away from distractions and the enemy's counterfeits, and we turn to God in prayer with conviction and strength. This will stop the enemy's attacks.

Denis also thinks that the "pray until" principle is really important. So important that Our Lady gave us the grace of having the wonderful new POV Camera at the Blue Cross (see the link at the top of our home page, www.marytv.tv  . It is at the Blue Cross that many people come to "pray until". We can now join them at that holy place.

So, let's take up the challenge! Let's pray until prayer becomes a joy for us, and we have a meeting with the Most High!!

Mary TV: August 28, 2017 Reflection - People of prayer!

 (c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017

August 28, 2017
St. Augustine

"Dear children! Today I am calling you to be people of prayer..."

Indeed, it seems that Our Lady has been working all these years to build us up into a people of prayer. She has spoken to us about prayer in almost every message. Here is a message in which she describes her hopes for us as people of prayer. She wants us to be those who are praying and sacrificing:
February 02, 2017 "Dear children, you who are striving to offer every day of your life to my Son, you who are trying to live with Him, you who are praying and sacrificing - you are hope in this peaceless world. You are rays of the light of my Son, a living gospel, and you are my beloved apostles of love. My Son is with you. He is with those who think of Him - those who pray. But in the same way, He is patiently waiting for those who do not know Him. Therefore, you, apostles of my love, pray with the heart and with your works show the love of my Son. This is the only hope for you, and this is also the only way to eternal life. I, as a mother, I am here with you. Your prayers directed to me are the most beautiful roses of love for me. I cannot but be where I sense the scent of roses. There is hope. Thank you."

Our Lady needs us to be hope for this world. As we offer every day of our lives to Jesus, living with Him, praying to Him, sacrificing with Him, we become hope for the world. Our prayers also are directed to Our Lady, and they become roses of love for her. She comes where there are roses! She tells us there is hope, because we are people who pray.

Also, Our Lady has called us to pray with others:
September 25, 2000 "Dear children! Today I call you to open yourselves to prayer. May prayer become joy for you. Renew prayer in your families and form prayer groups. In this way, you will experience joy in prayer and togetherness. All those who pray and are members of prayer groups are open to God's will in their hearts and joyfully witness God's love. I am with you, I carry all of you in my heart and I bless you with my motherly blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call."

When we open ourselves to prayer, we become people of prayer. Prayer becomes a joy for us. And we soon begin to pray with others, in prayer groups and in our families so that we will experience being part of the family of God. We become part of the great family of prayer. In this way, through our communal prayer, we begin to open to God's will. This is very important to Our Lady, because it is then that we become witnesses for those who do not yet know the love of Jesus.

So you can see that being people of prayer is very important. If we pray, pray, pray, we will become hope for this world, and witnesses of the love of God for those who do not know Him. Being people of prayer is a high calling, and one that we all can follow, no matter our state in life. May we all become people of prayer!

Dear Family of Mary TV,

INCREDIBLE NEWS! You can now pray at the Blue Cross in Medjugorje at any time of day or night, from any place in the world!

This link to the live camera shot, http://marytv.tv/?page_id=2363 , can be found at the very top of Mary TV's web page.

Your prayers and donations have made this special place of prayer in Medjugorje accessible to all of Our Lady's children - 24/7 - just when she's telling us: "Dear children! Today I am calling you to be people of prayer!"*

I'm told this feat is nothing short of a miracle. For example, there is no clear "line of sight" to our building. The signal has to travel 1.3 miles and make its way around buildings and trees. AND IT'S WORKING! We didn't really know what the camera would see. AND ITS PERFECT!

This must give Our Lady joy.... In the "Prayer to the Mother of Goodness, Love and Mercy", that she dictated to Jelena Vasilj on April 19, 1983, Our Lady included these words for us to pray to her: "Give us the grace to be merciful towards you!" Putting modern communications technologies at her disposal in Medjugorje so her children can stand by her side in prayer as she intercedes for the whole world is doing exactly that, being merciful to our Mother. "My Son promised me that evil will never win because you, the souls of the just, are here"

A big THANK YOU to all our donors. This is a labor of love from us all. Some unexpected larger donations came in just before the youth festival - when Our Lady had told us: "Be ready. This time is a turning point!" Without them we would not have been able to move forward as we have done.

Mary TV's team consists of volunteers, some of whom receive small stipends. No one gets a full salary....   And donations right now aren't really covering monthly expenses....but somehow Providence takes care. For example, Rosie hadn't told me that she was short 1,800 Euros to pay this year's rent for Mary TV's Tea House in Medjugorje. I just found out that on the day the rent was due (May 1st, the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker) someone walked into the Tea House, placed 1,800 Euros into Rosie's hand, turned around and walked out! (Thank you, who ever you are!!)**

Here is the link for how you can be part of this marvelous work for Our Lady:

Thank you and God bless you!

** I just can' keep from sharing one more little story: Franjo and Rosie will be traveling to the US soon to greet their first grandchild (Yes, Josip and Christina are about to have a baby)!   Franjo was late applying for a Visa....The family was a little nervous he might be cutting it too short. He was greeted last week when he walked into the US Embassy in Sarajevo, with: "Hi Franjo! How's Rosie?" He was greeted warmly and given "red carpet" treatment! People at the Embassy are familiar with Mary TV and watch it regularly!

August 24, 2017 Reflection -There is no duplicity in him...

 (c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
August 24, 2017
St. Bartholomew, Apostle

Dear Family of Mary!

Today we celebrate St. Bartholomew, also called Nathaniel. The Gospel tells us of Nathaniel's first meeting with Jesus. And Jesus gives Nathaniel a compliment:
Philip found Nathanael and told him,
"We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law,
and also the prophets, Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth."
But Nathanael said to him,
"Can anything good come from Nazareth?"
Philip said to him, "Come and see."
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him,
"Here is a true child of Israel.
There is no duplicity in him." (Jn 1:45-47)
Jesus perceived that Nathaniel was an honest man, one who always said what he meant and did not intend to manipulate or use anyone. Another word for duplicity is guile. The dictionary tells us this about duplicity:
Duplicity: deceitfulness; double-dealing.
synonyms: deceitfulness · deceit · deception · double-dealing · underhandedness · dishonesty · fraud · fraudulence · sharp practice · chicanery · trickery · subterfuge · skullduggery · treachery · crookedness · shadiness · dirty tricks · shenanigans · monkey business · perfidy
Clearly someone who is duplicitous is not to be trusted. They have no regard for the truth. They are willing to say whatever will serve their purposes, get them what they desire, and convince others to do as they wish.

Nathaniel was not one of those. We might think of some others in Scripture who were duplicitous. Judas comes to mind. He lived with Jesus and Nathaniel for many months, but he was able to kiss Jesus in greeting at the very same moment he was betraying Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.

Our Lady knew both of these men. She understood their hearts. Quietly she prayed for both of them, as she followed Jesus' public ministry. And so she tells us often to live in truth. Her last 25th message is about truth:

July 25, 2017
"Dear children! Be prayer and a reflection of God's love for all those who are far from God and God's commandments. Little children, be faithful and determined in conversion and work on yourselves so that, for you, holiness of life may be truth; and encourage each other in the good through prayer, so that your life on earth may be more pleasant. Thank you for having responded to my call."
Our holiness must not be for show. Our devotion cannot just be an outward display. That is duplicitous. Our way of life must be true, must come from our heart, and must be authentic. Nathaniel was authentic. We want to be authentic. It means that we live from the heart, and are deeply honest with ourselves, with God, and with one another.

To do this we must "be faithful and determined in conversion and work on [ourselves] so that, for [us], holiness of life may be truth." It takes prayer and work to remain honest and sincere, choosing the good and encouraging others in the good. But the fruit of such hard work is peace of heart, joy and love!
St. Bartholomew [Nathaniel], Pray for us!!

Mary TV: August 23, 2017 Reflection -With all the strength of my heart, I love you...

 (c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
August 23, 2017
St. Rose of Lima

Dear Family of Mary!

January 2, 2008 "Dear children! With all the strength of my heart, I love you and give myself to you. As a mother fights for her children, I pray and fight for you. I ask you not to be afraid to open yourselves, so as to be able to love with the heart and give yourselves to others. The more that you do this with the heart, the more you will receive and the better you will understand my Son and His gift to you. Through the love of my Son and me, may you all be recognized. Thank you."

"Dear children! With all the strength of my heart, I love you and give myself to you."

Can you imagine a heart stronger than Our Lady's heart? She said "yes" to the Father and accepted His Son in her womb, knowing she would be misunderstood by many. But her heart was strong. Mary ran to help Elizabeth without a thought to her own needs, because her heart was strong! When the only shelter available was a stable, she gave birth to Jesus there without complaint because her heart was strong. She received the prophecy of Simeon, that a sword would pierce her heart too, but she did not shrink back because her heart was strong. She fled with Joseph and little Jesus into Egypt because Herod wanted to kill her Child. But her heart was strong. When Jesus was misunderstood and opposed she stood beside Him. Her heart was strong. When Jesus was mocked, scourged, crowned with thorns, given His cross, and crucified upon it, she stood very near. She did not blink. Her heart was strong with love. And the Resurrection and Ascension only made her heart stronger still, until the Spirit came through her heart, as she interceded for the new Church at Pentecost. Her heart was so strong.

This is the heart with which Mary loves us today! This is the love she pours out upon us. Indeed, this is the heart that fights for us: "As a mother fights for her children, I pray and fight for you."

Our Lady fights for us. She never gives up. No matter how we fail, no matter how weak we are, she stands by our side to help us get up and try again. She intercedes for us to the Father and the Son, and she runs interference for us when our enemies attack. She is tireless on our behalf. We should be filled with confidence in her motherly protection.

"I ask you not to be afraid to open yourselves, so as to be able to love with the heart and give yourselves to others."

So what does she ask of us in return? She asks us not to be afraid, to open ourselves to the needs of others, to show them the love we have received from her. Pass it on! Give what we have been given. Be those who fight for others, who are tireless is loving those around us. Pay it forward!!

"The more that you do this with the heart, the more you will receive and the better you will understand my Son and His gift to you."

The more we love the more we will understand what Jesus has been doing for us all along. The more we will understand Our Lady. We will "get it". And together with Our Lady we will begin to spread that love everywhere.

"Through the love of my Son and me, may you all be recognized. Thank you."

Mary TV: August 22, 2017 Reflection - Hail, Holy Queen!!

The Queenship of Mary!

Dear Family of Mary!
April 2, 2012 "Dear children, As the Queen of Peace, I desire to give peace to you, my children, true peace which comes through the heart of my Divine Son. As a mother I pray that wisdom, humility and goodness may come to reign in your hearts; that peace may reign; that my Son may reign. When my Son will be the ruler in your hearts, you will be able to help others to come to know Him. When heavenly peace comes to rule over you, those who are seeking it in the wrong places, thus causing pain to my motherly heart, will recognize it. My children, great will be my joy when I see that you are accepting my words and that you desire to follow me. Do not be afraid, you are not alone. Give me your hands and I will lead you. Do not forget your shepherds. Pray that in their thoughts they may always be with my Son who called them to witness Him. Thank you."

With such a Queen, we are the happiest of subjects! She gives us her hands and leads us into the Kingdom of her Son, which is heaven!! Let's sing to her today!
Salve, Regina
Salve, Regina, mater misericordiae;
vita, dulcedo et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Hevae.
Ad te suspiramus gementes et flentes
in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia ergo, advocata nostra,
illos tuos misericordes oculos ad nos converte.
Et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.
O clemens, o pia, o dulcis Virgo Maria.
V. Ora pro nobis, sancta Dei Genitrix.
R. Ut digni efficamur promissionibus Christi.
Oremus. Amen.

Hail, holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee to we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray. Almighty and everlasting God, Who by the working of the Holy Spirit didst prepare both body and soul of the glorious Virgin Mother, Mary, that she might deserve to be made a worthy dwelling for Thy Son, grant that we who rejoice in her memory, may, by her loving intercession, be delivered from present evils and from lasting death, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: August 21, 2017 Reflection - A message through Ivan

St. Pius X

Dear Family of Mary!

Last Friday, Ivan and his prayer group met at the Blue Cross, and at 10:00 pm Our Lady appeared. I have the rough translation of Ivan's comments for you. I am always impressed that Our Lady comes with her Motherly Greeting, and gives her Motherly Blessing! Don't we need them both!

Ivan Dragicevic, Apparition at the Blue Cross - Friday, August 18, 2017
Tonight also I report to you what was most important from tonight's meeting with Our Lady.
Also tonight Our Lady came to us joyful, and happy and she greeted all of us with her Motherly greeting, "Praised be Jesus, my dear children." And then she stayed for a longer while, praying with extended arms, especially praying over all those present who are sick here.
Then Our Lady in a special way tonight prayed for peace. Peace in the world. And she said:
Dear children, as if today I desire to again call you to pray for peace. Peace in your hearts. Peace in your families. Know, dear children, that I pray for all of you. And I pray before my Son and intercede before my Son for all of you. Thank you, dear children, for your perseverance and thank you for also having responded to my call today."
After that Our Lady blessed us with her Motherly blessing. She blessed all that you brought to be blessed.
As always also tonight I recommended all of you, your needs and your intentions, your families. And then Our Lady continued for a while to pray over all of us, and in that prayer she left in an illuminated Sign of the Cross she left with the greeting, "Go in peace, my dear children."
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: August 18, 2017 Reflection - My children, I need you!

Dear Family of Mary!

Here is our homework for the weekend! I have gathered these messages in which Our Lady has told us that she needs us. I believe that she really does need us. As our world heats up with civil unrest and international discord, we are all feeling the urgency of Our Lady's call. She needs us now more than ever. She needs us to become carriers of her peace and love.

And so I offer these messages for our prayer this weekend. let's take our time, and read them carefully.  No hurry.  We want to respond to Our Lady's need! Let's allow her messages to help us to understand what it is she needs from us and how to respond to her call. Pray, pray, pray, little children!!

February 25, 1992 "Dear children! Today I invite you to draw still closer to God through prayer. Only that way will I be able to help you and to protect you from every attack of satan. I am with you and I intercede for you with God, that He protect you. But I need your prayers and your - "Yes." You get lost easily in material and human things, and forget that God is your greatest friend. Therefore, my dear little children, draw close to God so He may protect you and guard you from every evil. Thank you for having responded to my call!"
November 2, 2004 "Dear children, I need you. I call you and ask for your help. Make peace with yourselves, with God and with your neighbors. Then help me. Convert unbelievers. Wipe the tears from my face."
July 2, 2009 "Dear children! I am calling you because I need you. I need hearts ready for immeasurable love. Hearts that are not burdened by vanity. Hearts that are ready to love as my Son loved, that are ready to sacrifice themselves as my Son sacrificed Himself. I need you. In order to come with me, forgive yourselves, forgive others and adore my Son. Adore Him also for those who have not come to know Him, those who do not love Him. Therefore, I need you. Therefore, I call you. Thank you."
September 02, 2012 "Dear children, as my eyes are looking at you, my soul is seeking those souls with whom it desires to be one - the souls who have understood the importance of prayer for those of my children who have not come to know the love of the Heavenly Father. I am calling you because I need you. Accept the mission and do not be afraid, I will strengthen you. I will fill you with my graces. With my love I will protect you from the evil spirit. I will be with you. With my presence I will console you in difficult moments. Thank you for your open hearts. Pray for priests. Pray that the unity between my Son and them may be all the stronger, that they may be one. Thank you."

January 02, 2013 "Dear children, with much love and patience I strive to make your hearts like unto mine. I strive, by my example, to teach you humility, wisdom and love because I need you; I cannot do without you my children. According to God's will I am choosing you, by His strength I am strengthening you. Therefore, my children, do not be afraid to open your hearts to me. I will give them to my Son and in return, He will give you the gift of Divine peace. You will carry it to all those whom you meet, you will witness God's love with your life and you will give the gift of my Son through yourselves. Through reconciliation, fasting and prayer, I will lead you. Immeasurable is my love. Do not be afraid. My children, pray for the shepherds. May your lips be shut to every judgment, because do not forget that my Son has chosen them and only He has the right to judge. Thank you."

November 02, 2014 "Dear children, I am with you with the blessing of my Son, with you who love me and who strive to follow me. I also desire to be with you who do not accept me. To all of you I am opening my heart full of love and I am blessing you with my motherly hands. I am a mother who understands you. I lived your life and lived through your sufferings and joys. You who are living in pain understand my pain and suffering because of those of my children who do not permit the light of my Son to illuminate them; those of my children who are living in darkness. This is why I need you - you who have been illuminated by the light and have comprehended the truth. I am calling you to adore my Son so that your soul may grow and reach true spirituality. My apostles, it is then that you will be able to help me. To help me means to pray for those who have not come to know the love of my Son. In praying for them you are showing to my Son that you love Him and follow Him. My Son promised me that evil will never win, because you, the souls of the just, are here; you who strive to say your prayers with the heart; you who offer your pain and suffering to my Son; you who comprehend that life is only a blink; you who yearn for the Kingdom of Heaven. All of this makes you my apostles and leads you towards the victory of my heart. Therefore, my children, purify your hearts and adore my Son. Thank you."

May 02, 2015 "Dear children, open your hearts and try to feel how much I love you and how much I desire for you to love my Son. I desire for you to come to know Him all the better, because it is impossible to know Him and not to love Him - because He is love. I, my children, know you. I know your pain and suffering because I lived through them. I laugh with you in your joy and I cry with you in your pain. I will never leave you. I will always speak to you with motherly tenderness. And I, as a mother, need your open hearts to spread the love of my Son with wisdom and simplicity. I need you to be open and sensitive to the good and mercy. I need you to be united with my Son, because I desire for you to be happy and to help me to bring happiness to all of my children. My apostles, I need you to show everyone the truth of God, so that my heart, which suffered and today suffers so much pain, can win in love. Pray for the holiness of your shepherds, so that in the name of my Son they can work miracles, because holiness works miracles. Thank you."

March 18, 2010  "Dear children! Today I call you to love with all your heart and with all your soul. Pray for the gift of love, because when the soul loves it calls my Son to itself. My Son does not refuse those who call Him and who desire to live according to Him. Pray for those who do not comprehend love, who do not understand what it means to love. Pray that God may be their Father and not their Judge. My children, you be my apostles, be my river of love. I need you. Thank you."

Mary TV: August 17, 2017 Reflection - Forgive yourselves, forgive others...

 (c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
August 17, 2017

Dear Family of Mary!
Thank you."

Our Lady tells us in this message that in order to come with her we have to forgive. She needs us to come with her. She is moving out to vanquish the enemy in these days and she needs her children to come with her. But we cannot come if we are burdened by vanity, unable to love, unable to forgive and be reconciled. We will not sacrifice ourselves if we are hanging on to unforgiveness, resentment, pride, jealousy, envy, etc. Forgiveness is incredibly important in releasing us from all our burdens and sins.

"Forgive yourselves, forgive others and adore my Son..." This is the formula for peace, for inner strength and purpose, for the freedom to follow Our Lady in these days.

Fr. Vojtech Kodet, O. Carm. wrote a powerful prayer of Contrition in his Novena to Our Lady, Untier of Knots. I have shared this prayer already, but I feel it is a prayer to be said every day for the rest of our lives. So here it is!!

Act of Contrition and Prayer Asking for Conversion

My Lord, I am heartily sorry for my sins;
Purify my heart with Your Holy Blood
I pray for Your Mercy;
Grant me the grace of a new conversion.
My Lord, By the power of Your Cross,
I wish to forgive every person who has hurt me.
Shortly before Your Death You prayed,
Father, forgive the, for they do not know what they are doing."
Merciful Lord,
Teach me mercy even when that seems to be impossible
I renounce every temptation to harden my heart;
I want to find no anger in my heart, no bitterness, no self-pity.
I renounce every desire to get even and to condemn;
I desire to bless everyone who in any way has harmed me.
I pray to be forgiven for everything I ever did to harm someone else,
Even those I harmed without knowing it.
My Lord,
Remove my heart of stone and give me a new heart, a heart of flesh.
Fill it with your humility and meekness;
Soften it with your mercy.
I fervently implore You,
Give me the Holy Spirit,
So that I might know how to love You and my neighbor,
so that I might fight the good fight and always choose to do what it truly good.
Grant that I not trust in my own strength alone
and that I not let disappointment quench my hope,
That hope that is anchored in Your strength and Your love.
Amen.
(From "Novena to Mary, Untier of Knots, by Vojtech Kodet, O.Carm. - Catholic Book Publishing Corp. New Jersey)
Lord, please hear our prayer and give us hearts of flesh to love you and to forgive and love ourselves and our neighbors. Amen, Amen, Amen!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: August 16, 2017 Reflection - My Son is always with you...

 (c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017

St. Stephen of Hungary

Dear Family of Mary!

Here is a beautiful message from Our Lady in which she spoke very deeply about our relationship to the Jesus in the Eucharist:
May 02, 2016 "Dear children, my motherly heart desires your true conversion and a firm faith so that you may be able to spread love and peace to all those who surround you. But, my children, do not forget: each of you is a unique world before the Heavenly Father. Therefore, permit the continuous working of the Holy Spirit to work on you. Be my spiritually pure children. In spirituality is beauty. Everything that is spiritual is alive and very beautiful. Do not forget that in the Eucharist, which is the heart of faith, my Son is always with you. He comes to you and breaks bread with you; because, my children, for your sake He died, He resurrected and is coming anew. These words of mine are familiar to you because they are the truth, and the truth does not change. It is only that many of my children have forgotten it. My children, my words are neither old nor new, they are eternal. Therefore, I invite you, my children, to observe well the signs of the times, to 'gather the shattered crosses' and to be apostles of the revelation. Thank you."

In this message Our Lady encourages us to be centered on our relationship with Jesus through receiving Him in the Eucharist. She says, "Do not forget that in the Eucharist, which is the heart of faith, my Son is always with you. He comes to you and breaks bread with you; because, my children, for your sake He died, He resurrected and is coming anew." How often do I forget that Jesus has come to me in the Eucharist? How long do I adore Him in my heart after Holy Communion? Do I realize that Jesus comes to break bread with me and bring the Father and the Holy Spirit with Him, to dwell in my heart?

St. Faustina wrote about her experience of receiving Holy Communion:

486. Jesus, when You come to me in Holy Communion, You who, together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, have deigned to dwell in the little heaven of my heart, I try to keep You company throughout the day, I do not leave You alone for even a moment. Although I am in the company of other people or with our wards, my heart is always united to Him. When I am asleep I offer Him every beat of my heart; when I awaken I immerse myself in Him without saying a word. When I awaken I adore the Holy Trinity for a short while and thank God for having deigned to give me yet another day, that the mystery of the incarnation of His Son may once more be repeated in me, and that once again His sorrowful Passion may unfold before my eyes. I then try to make it easier for Jesus to pass through me to other souls. I go everywhere with Jesus; His presence accompanies me everywhere.  (Saint Faustina's Diary, 486)

Maybe St. Faustina's example will help us to begin to realize that we are each "a unique world before the Heavenly Father." Maybe we will allow Jesus, together with the Father and the Holy Spirit to "dwell in the little heaven of [our] heart[s]" throughout the day, and we will never leave them alone. Think what a difference it would make. We might become Apostles of the Revelation!

Mary TV: August 15, 2017 Reflection - The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

 (c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
August 15, 2017
The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven

Dear Family of Mary!

Today is the great Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven!! Rejoice!!

Here is a prayer written by Pope Pius XII, who declared the Dogma of the Assumption in 1950! He ushered in a new era of Mary with that declaration, the Age of the Assumption, which brings the cure for all the atheism and despair of our time. Mary, assumed into Heaven, body and soul, is now interceding through and with Jesus to the Father for our salvation. What have we to fear!

In Honor of the Assumption
O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of God and Mother of men.
We believe with all the fervor of our faith in your triumphal Assumption, both in body and soul, into heaven, where you are acclaimed as Queen by all the choirs of angels and all the legions of saints; and we unite with them to praise and bless the Lord who has exalted you above all other pure creatures, and to offer you the tribute of our devotion and our love.
We know that your gaze, which on earth watched over the humble and suffering humanity of Jesus, is filled in heaven with the vision of that Humanity glorified, and with the vision of Uncreated Wisdom; and that the joy of your soul in the direct contemplation of the adorable Trinity causes your heart to throb with overwhelming tenderness.
And we, poor sinners, whose body weighs down the flight of the soul, beg you to purify our hearts, so that, while we remain here below, we may learn to see God, and God alone, in the beauties of His creatures.
We trust that your merciful eyes may deign to glance down upon our miseries and our sorrows, upon our struggles and our weaknesses; that your countenance may smile upon our joys and our victories; that you may hear the voice of Jesus saying to you of each one of us, as He once said to you of His beloved disciple: behold thy son.
And we who call upon you as our Mother, like John, take you as the guide, strength, and consolation of our mortal life.
We are inspired by the certainty that your eyes which wept over the earth, watered by the Blood of Jesus, are yet turned toward this world, held in the clutch of wars, persecutions, and oppression of the just and the weak.
And from the shadows of this vale of tears, we seek in your heavenly assistance and tender mercy comfort for our aching hearts and help in the trials of the Church and of our fatherland.
We believe, finally, that in the glory where you reign, clothed with the sun and crowned with the stars, you are, after Jesus, the joy and gladness of all the angels and of all the saints.
And from this earth, over which we tread as pilgrims, comforted by our faith in the future resurrection, we look to you, our life, our sweetness, and our hope; draw us onward with the sweetness of your voice, that one day, after our exile, you may show us Jesus, the blessed Fruit of your womb, O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. (Pope Pius X11, 1950)

Mary TV: August 14, 2017 Reflection - The Age of the Assumption

 (c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
August 14, 2017
St. Maximilian Kolbe

Dear Family of Mary!

(I wrote this reflection in 2015! I am re-sending it today because it is so important for us in these days!!)

Tomorrow is the Feast of the Assumption. I always think it is so great the St. Maximilian Kolbe's feast day is the day before the Assumption. He must love it too! I wanted to share something with you about the Assumption as we prepare for the feast. For some reason, as I prayed I felt drawn to a book I read quite a while ago, "The World's First Love, Mary, Mother of God" by Archbishop Fulton J Sheen. I looked through the Contents, and found the chapter on the Assumption. And when I began to read it, I saw that I had underlined almost every word of that chapter! It is a blockbuster!

But the last few paragraphs are really pertinent for us because Sheen points to something in a prophetic way that we are experiencing. "The World's First Love" was written in 1952, only two years after the Dogma of the Assumption was declared by Pope Pius XII. And yet, Sheen seems to see the plan of God in that declaration. Let's listen to him:

Within three decades the definition of the Assumption will cure the pessimism and despair of the modern world. Freud, who did so much to develop this pessimism, took as his motto; "If I cannot move the Gods on high, I shall set all hell in an uproar." That uproar which he created will now be stilled by a Lady as powerful as an "army drawn up in battle array." The age of the "body beautiful" will now become the age of the Assumption.

In Mary there is a triple transition. In the Annunciation we pass from the holiness of the Old Testament to the holiness of Christ. At Pentecost we pass from the holiness of the historical Christ to the holiness of the Mystical Christ or His Body, which is the Church. Mary here received the Spirit for a second time. The first overshadowing was to give birth to the Head of the Church: this second overshadowing is to give birth to His Body as she is in the midst of the Apostles abiding in prayer. The third transition is the Assumption, as she becomes the first human person to realize the historical destiny of the faithful as members of Christ's Mystical Body, beyond time, beyond death, and beyond judgment.

Mary is always in the vanguard of humanity. She is compared to Wisdom, presiding at creation; she is announced as the woman who will conquer Satan, as the Virgin who will conceive. She becomes the first person since the Fall to have a unique and unrepeatable kind of union with God; she mothers the infant Christ in Bethlehem; she mothers the Mystical Christ at Jerusalem; and now, by her Assumption, she goes ahead like her Son to prepare a place for us. She participates in the glory of her son, reigns with Him, presides at His side over the destinies of the Church in time, and intercedes for us to Him, as He, in His turn, intercedes to the Heavenly Father.

Adam came before Eve chronologically. The new Adam, Christ, comes after the new Eve, Mary, chronologically, although existentially He preceded her as the Creator a creature. By stressing for the moment only the time element, Mary always seems to be the advent of what is in store for man. She anticipates Christ for nine months, as she bears Heaven within her; she anticipates His Passion at Cana and His Church at Pentecost. Now, in the last great doctrine of the Assumption, she anticipates Heavenly glory, and the definition comes at a time when men think of it least.

One wonders if this could not be the last of the great truths of Mary to be defined by the Church. Anything else might seem to be an anticlimax after she is declared to be in Heaven, body and soul. But actually there is one other truth left to be defined, and that is that she is the Mediatrix, under her Son, of all graces. As St. Paul speaks of the Ascension of Our Lord as the prelude to His intercession for us, so we fittingly, should speak of the Assumption of Our Lady as a prelude to her intercession for us. First, the place, Heaven; then the function, intercession. The nature of her role is not to call her Son's attention to some need, in an emergency unnoticed by Him, nor is it to "win" a difficult consent. Rather it is to unite herself to His compassionate Mercy and give a human voice to His Infinite Love. The main ministry of Mary is to incline men's hearts to obedience to the will of her Divine Son. Her last recorded words at Cana are still her words in the Assumption; "Whatsoever He shall say to you, that do ye."

Archbishop Sheen clearly sees that Mary, in her Assumption, is the key to our age of despair. In Mary, humanity has hope. In her Assumption, life again has meaning. We are not creatures without souls, and without an eternal future. We are called to live forever with our God, who loves us, and Mary shows us the way.

I also find it interesting that in 1952 Archbishop Sheen would project that in three decades after the Dogma was declared "the definition of the Assumption will cure the pessimism and despair of the modern world." This is a huge claim. Sheen died in 1979, just shy of the three decades. What came next he could not have foreseen. Our Lady came to Medjugorje in 1981 and since then has been curing pessimism and despair in millions of her children. Through her presence, her messages and her intercession, Mary is reversing the terrible curse of atheism and despair in the world, one person at a time.

I believe that Our Lady in Medjugorje has set up camp, declaring that she is with us in our fight against Satan and all evil. She is with us to help us draw close to her Son and to learn to live Him. She is with us in these days to be Jesus' compassionate Mercy for us. She intercedes in our midst, in Medjugorje, to bring about the Kingdom of Heaven in us. The Dogma of the Assumption is bearing great fruit in our day, as Sheen said. It is curing pessimism and despair, and bringing us heaven through Our Lady's presence in Medjugorje!! If Sheen is right and Mary is the advent of all of God's great works, the Incarnation, the Passion, the Birth of the Church, and now Heavenly Glory, then her coming to Medjugorje must be the advent of the coming of her Son. She is here to prepare the way for His coming!

Mary TV: August 11, 2017 Reflection -Homework in anticipation of the Assumption

 (c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017

St. Clare

Dear Family of Mary!

We are approaching the Feast of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, August 15. I want to give you all some homework this weekend in anticipation of this powerful feast of Our Lady. Below is my reflection for the Assumption in 2016. Please read the article by Fr. Paul Scalia that I included (see the link below). It is a good way to begin to ponder this Feast and be ready for the graces!

August 15, 1985 "Dear children! Today I am blessing you and I wish to tell you that I love you and that I urge you to live my messages. Today I am blessing you with the solemn blessing that the Almighty grants me. Thank you for having responded to my call."

In this simple message given on the Feast of the Assumption in 1985, Our Lady showed her love. She blessed all those who were receiving her message. And she told us that she loves us. In her love she longed for us all to live her messages. She urged us! Why? Because she knew that in her messages we would find the way to peace, to unity with God and with each other. Her messages have continued to be a source of protections and salvation for us. She is drawing us back to her Son in these turbulent times. And then she blessed us with a "solemn blessing" given to her by the Father. Wow!! We want her solemn blessing today!!

I read an incredible article about Our Lady and her role in these days, written by Fr. Paul Scalia, the son of Chief Justice Antonin Scalia. Fr. Scalia obviously has his father's intellect, fueled by much study, and an inner compass that leads him to the depths of the truth. This article, in a few words, reveals the role of Mary in our world today! It will amaze you.
