Pope Benedict XVI
The Holy Father today encouraged the participants to the Synod on the Eucharist to be instruments of Christ and to enter in the thoughts and in the feelings of the Lord.

CHAPTER XLIII: TWO HEARTS OF WIT & WISDOM
Once upon a time--Bishop Albert Fletcher, of happy memory, Bishop of Little Rock, Ark. gave a most inspiring meditation to Carmelite Third Order members, at the Carmelite Convent.
His Excellency spoke so beautifully about the INTERIOR SILENCE, WE MUST TRY TO BE SILENT INTERIORLY, allow God to speak to us.
As he expanded on this subject, a woman in the front row interrupted his Excellency's beautiful oratory with a loud gurgling of her stomach. Stunned silence prevailed and the restraint of everyone's laughter could be felt throughout the packed hall.
Calmly Bishop Fletcher remarked:
"My dear, you have just broken the interior silence!"
An explosion of laughter came forth.
One Third Order Tertiary put it this way:
"Just 'shut-up' interiorly and listen!"
P.S. The perfect time of complete silence is, as Msgr. Charles A. Klauder from Kenmore, NY would put it, after reception of the Sacred Host, at Holy Communion time: "Let's forget the 'gimmie-gimmie' Lord, and prayerfully listen in silence and give our God a chance to talk to us!"
