Me in 1987'Proclaiming the Gospel'
G. K. Chesterton Quote: "People have fallen into the foolish habit of speaking of orthodoxy as very humdrum. There never was anything so perilous and exciting as orthodoxy."
My Comment:
How true! My faith has never been so exciting since discovering the fullness of its truths and a firm belief in it as coming from God Himself! It's easy to deny the truths of our faith, i. e., the miracles, the truth of the Gospel, the supernatural reality of the Sacraments, Jesus True Presence in the Eucharist, the Angels, Heaven & Hell, Purgatory, the apparitions of Jesus and Mary throughout history, etc.
But when we believe in these truths, we become so excited about our Faith that we want everyone to believe like we do!
But it is perilous! We will suffer for these truths. I know cause I've been called "old Fashioned," traditionalist," "a Feenyite" (Fr. Feeny denied salvation outside the Catholic Church and was condemned for it, but did come back in good standing before he died); I've been rejected, ignored, pasted over, mocked, left out, etc. because of my orthodoxy; but so was Our Lord rejected, abandoned, mocked, and crucified for proclaiming the Truth and orthodoxy!
But what's more important to us, honors and praise for being with it; or humility and scorn for being with the Lord? I choose "being with the Lord!" I suffer silently for my Faith. How about you?
