Dear John, Things slow down in November. Autumn is upon us and winter is coming. In the Catholic tradition, the first two days of November are All Saints' Day followed by All Souls' Day. I see this as an opportunity for us to slow down and look back. We remember the deceased. We recall the many friends and relatives who have gone before us. We entrust them to the love and mercy of the Lord.
Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen
At the same time, we remember that each and every one of us is called to holiness, indeed, called to be saints by a life of good deeds.

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
