The icon of “Mary, Seat of Wisdom”
|
|
In
the year 2000, Saint Pope John Paul II commissioned an icon of “Mary,
Seat of Wisdom” to dedicate to students worldwide. Since then, that icon
has travelled around the world, on every continent, reaching young
people in higher education everywhere.
This icon of "Mary,
Seat of Wisdom" has visited the countries that hosted the previous World
Youth Days (Germany, Spain, Brazil, etc.) and every year a different
country is chosen to host it. Beginning in December 2014, for a period
of one year, the students of France will have the opportunity to receive
it. This highly symbolic icon will be honored in different events
geared towards college students and diocesan youth programs.
Since last November,
it has already traveled 10,000 km in France, encountering many students
at youth groups or larger gatherings (European meetings of Taizé, https://www.facebook.com/Challenge-des-Cath%C3%A9drales-428438933914162/timeline/ etc.).

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
