January 10, 2010 Ordinary Time! Dear Family of Mary! "Dear children! At this time of grace, I call you to prayer. Little children, you work much but without God's blessing. Bless and seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to lead you at this time so that you may comprehend and live in the grace of this time. Convert, little children, and kneel in the silence of your hearts. Put God in the center of your being so that, in that way, you can witness in joy the beauty that God continually gives in your life. Thank you for having responded to my call." (May 25, 2001) Today we enter Ordinary Time in the Church Calendar. But I don't think we can really call this time "ordinary"! I know that the Church is using this word to refer to the ordered numbering of days for liturgical purposes and doesn't imply the "business as usual" kind of feeling we get from the word. But it is hard, especially for those of us who live in the snowy north, not to feel a letdown when ordinary time comes along. In these days of global uncertainty, we might long for "ordinary" times. But it is that very uncertainty that has precipitated the coming of Our Lady to Medjugorje! She has come to make these days anything but "ordinary"! She has come to announce a time of grace! She in fact, is the grace! And she is with us to steer us through the uncertainty into the peace of God. This May 25, 2001 message is a powerful call. It shows us the way to enter into this New Year, 2011. Seeking God's blessing, calling on the Holy Spirit, kneeling in the silence of our hearts, putting God in the center of our beings, and witnessing the joy and beauty of our lives in God, are the means to receiving the graces of this time. We should be excited to live in such an exceptional time! Never before has the world received daily visits of the Queen of Peace, for almost 30 years! Our Mother says to us: "God gives you great graces; that is why, little children, make good use of this time of grace and come closer to my heart so that I can lead you to my Son Jesus." (June 25, 2001) Let us respond with joyful hearts to the great graces we are receiving! This is an extraordinary ordinary time! In Jesus and Mary! Cathy Nolan www.marytv.tv |
