Dear Family of Mary!
"From day to day I wish to clothe you in holiness, goodness, obedience and God's love, so that from day to day you will become more beautiful and more prepared for your Master." (October 24, 1985)
At the Marion Conference of Sacramento in 2011, Marija answered several questions. This question was focused on what it is like to experience Our Lady. The answer is clearly from one who has seen Our Lady. You can see her frustration at trying to put that experience into words. But her attempt is helpful for those of us who have not seen and yet believe!
Question: This question covers a bunch of questions: Speak about your experience of being with Our Lady. What happens when she comes, does Our Lady always speak to you, how do you feel after the apparition, does the apparition help you at all in your daily life?? (Marija said, "This is a bunch of questions!!)
Marija: When I talk about Our Lady and what she is like when she comes, I am like a radiator, you can't turn me off!! You know, Our Lady is just sooooo beautiful!!!! Even though she is over two thousand years old, she does fine, she still looks like she is twenty! We really fell in love with her, with the beauty of her face, the contours of her face, the melody of her voice. You just really fall in love with this beauty. Many people bring us pictures of Our Lady and every time I look at an image of Our Lady, even the most beautiful ones, a kind of disgust comes over me and I think, Our Lady is not like this at all. She is more beautiful than this.
One day we asked Our Lady, "Mother, why are you so beautiful, so beautiful that we can never describe you or let people know how beautiful you are???" And Our Lady looked at us with a smile and she said, "I am beautiful because I love." And one day there was a group of journalists who came to Jakov and they wanted him to describe the beauty of Our Lady and how he experienced this beauty. And he said, "You know when Our Lady looks at me I feel like I am naked. She knows everything about me in the depth of my heart. She even knows and touches and sees the tiny little cells of my toe." He was only 10 years old. He said, "My big toe sees her." That is how deep Our Lady's look is when she looks at you. You feel that your big toe feels that look.
(Marija continued) Our Lady is not jealous of her beauty, she desires that we too have that beauty, and so she invites us to arrive at that beauty by love and putting God in the first place with all our love. Just before the apparition every night, our hearts becomes a little agitated because it is the most beautiful moment of our day, the fulfilling moment of our day. We really experience heaven when we are with Our Lady. It is hard to explain, but everything about Our Lady, the beauty of her face, the beauty and harmony of her movements, her sweet musical voice, everything about her touches us and moves us and is a message to us. Even yesterday (March 25, 2011), when Our Lady was with us, that movement when Our Lady extended her hands over us and prayed for us...well, all her behaviors and movements are queenly movements. Sometimes in ourselves, we want to say, Your Highness, Your Eminence, we don't know what to say to her, because her regality is so evident and moving. This is small, but when I see Our Lady, I am usually with my shoulders bent forward, but when I see Our Lady and the beauty of her reality, I straighten my shoulders and hold myself upright, because she transmits such dignity. The same way I react with my body before Our Lady, so my soul reacts, my heart reacts in the presence of Our Lady. When I see the love of Our Lady and the way she deals with us, I would love to transmit this to everyone I meet.
Also, when we hear Our Lady speak, and she says something like, "Today I give you my motherly blessing of peace, of love, in unity with my heart and the heart of my Son Jesus," we experience it as if Our Lady is trying to give us heaven, and she is waiting for our response. How ready are we to say 'yes' to these gifts she wants to give us. And she is saying to us, I am waiting and desiring for your 'yes', so I can give this to you. But Our Lady doesn't oblige us, she never commands us, she invites us, just like with fasting. Some evil spirits can be eliminated only with prayer and fasting, even wars and catastrophes we see. We need to listen to her. Just like in the times of Jesus, when she saw wine missing at the wedding, today she sees that peace is missing. She is inviting us to go before her Son, open our hearts and pray, because when we pray our hearts are open, then she can intercede for us and we can receive the gifts Jesus wants to give us. We can feel the strain in Marija's words. She wishes she could transmit her experience to us, but words fail her. No picture, no poem, no song, no description can fully transmit the beauty of Our Lady. Marija must live with that frustration and desire to share the joy of Our Lady with us. She is like a little bridge between us and Our Lady, a little connection that can only transmit a tiny percentage of what it is connected to! Like a little wire that can only take so much electricity, or a little pipe, that can only allow a small amount of water to pass through, Marija in her humanity can only share a tiny bit of the heavenly reality she experiences every day when Our Lady comes. But that little bit is more than enough for us. We are convinced! And we can't wait to see Mary in all her queenly elegance. She is our Mother and our Queen. And she loves us down to our big toes!!
