Like a weaned child...
November 4, 2024
Dear Family of Mary!
The Psalm for today is my most favorite one. I
identify so much with the child on its mother's lap. This is where I
want to stay with Mother Mary! Here is the Psalm:
Psalm 131
O Lord, my heart is not proud,
nor are my eyes haughty;
I busy not myself with great things,
nor with things too sublime for me.
Nay rather, I have stilled and quieted
my soul like a weaned child.
Like a weaned child on its mother's lap,
so is my soul within me.
O Israel, hope in the Lord,
both now and forever.
The humility of a child...it always touches me so
deeply. Little ones live in a world so big, so far beyond them, yet they
are completely at peace in their mother's arms. They know how to rely
on her with utter trust. Can we trust the Lord in just this way? Yes we
can.
Our Lady speaks to us about this kind of trust in this message:
July 25, 1996
"Dear children!
Today I invite you to decide every day for God.
Little children, you speak much about God,
but you witness little with your life.
Therefore, little children, decide for conversion,
that your life may be true before God,
so that in the truth of your life
you witness the beauty God gave you.
Little children,
I invite you again to decide for prayer
because through prayer,
you will be able to live the conversion.
Each one of you shall become
in the simplicity,
similar to a child
which is open to the love of the Father.
Thank you for having responded to my call."
Notice how many times Our Lady calls us "little children"
in this message!!!! We must realize how very little we are in relation
to God. We are soooo little. But in that littleness, we can live total
trust, being open to the love of the Father.
In these very tumultuous times, we must find our way
into that childlike relationship with God. Mother Mary is with us to
guide us. We must be open to the love of the Father, no matter what!!
God bless you all,
Cathy Nolan
