Mary TV: August 31, 2018 Reflection - Penance! Part 2

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! This is a time of grace. Little children, pray more, speak less and permit God to lead you on the way of conversion. I am with you and love you with my motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call." August 25, 2018

Here is part 2 of Fr. Peter Dugandzic' Homily at English Mass, August 29, 2018. Fr. Peter is on fire with the desire to fight for Jesus and Mary. Let that fire ignite your heart as well!

Fr. Peter Dugandzic- English Mass Homily, August 29, 2018, Medjugorje, Part 2:

We can do something about the war that is going on. You and I can do something about it by ourselves making a commitment to Our Lady's messages. Making a commitment to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To say, I am enlisted in Your army, and I am going to prepare for the battle each and every day by getting on my knees and praying. By going before the Blessed Sacrament and praying. By giving up a little bit of food once in a while and feeling hungry. By taking on some act, and I'm not talking about some of those medieval things we have heard about, but taking on something that is hard to do.
The pleasures of this world have overwhelmed us. The pleasures of this world have overwhelmed priests, bishops and even Cardinals, we've heard. The pleasures of this world confuse us. Because if you're look at any one of the deadly sins, any one of them carefully enough, I always say, it is a disease of pleasure turned inward. When it only becomes about me, my satisfactions and my good feeling. And good feelings don't cut it.
And here's why. The most beautiful image we have is that of childbirth. Now women, I will openly admit, I have never given birth to a child. I don't know what it is like. But from what I have been told, it's not fun. In fact, it's very painful. And in childbirth many times, the woman has excruciating pain and suffering. And then when that baby is laid upon her bosom, it's all gone. That's the image that Our Lady offers to you and to me. That's the image that we see in the book of Revelation - the Lady giving birth, giving birth to all of us. But we have to go through that with her. We have to experience that with her. And through that suffering, through these things that we take on, the mortifications that we do, we change ourselves for Christ. We change this world for Christ.
We are at war. Hear those words again and again. And don't think that you are outside of it. If you come to Medjugorje I guarantee the devil is going to come after you. Because he has come after me, and I am sure he has come after my brother priests...well not Fr. Leon...J...But he comes after us and he's going to come after you too. Be prepared by not having grand statements ready, just prepare yourself by how you pray and how you fast and how you devote yourself to the life of faith. So that when it comes, like John the Baptist, you can say, go ahead and take my head, go ahead and kill me but, guess what, I will not betray my Lord.
Thirty-two years ago when I came here to Medjugorje all I could think about were my own personal pleasures, my own creature comforts. Coming from America in the 1980's, this place was backwards, this place was very uncomfortable. You couldn't sit in the church at any given time and be comfortable, it was just too hot. And yet we all did. There were not side doors to let air in here. There was no air-conditioning. We all did. And that is, I believe, a very small part of the story of what set me on a different course, recognizing that it wasn't always about me. It wasn't always about what I wanted. It wasn't about me always getting what I want, when I want it, and being comfortable. Instead the Lord came to me in my comfort and made me uncomfortable. And when He did, He changed the course of my life.
Make no mistake, we are at war. But we can engage in the battle. We can accept the sufferings that come. You know, it is interesting. One of the debates that we have in the Church all of the time is how people dress. Let me tell you as a priest, there are some things I have seen in the Communion line that my eyes should never see. And yet when I say to somebody, be modestly dressed, don't wear shorts and sleeveless things to church, they say, "Aaaah, it's so hot Father." And I say, "Well hell is a lot hotter, trust me." Prepare now and get yourself ready now, to suffer a little bit. To be uncomfortable a little bit.
And offering it up, that is what Our Lady will tell you. Offering it up is what changes things. It's what helps stop wars. It is what unites families once again in harmony and love. It is what brings husbands and wives back together again. So long as we remain selfish and mired in selfish pleasures, Our Lady's message will fall on deaf ears. But if we can just let go for a moment, Christ can change the course of a life.

He changed the course of my life. And I ask you now.... you know what is going on in the Church. You know the smoke of satan has entered the Church. Paul the VI was prophetic when he said that in 1972. We must purge the Church of this error. And return once again to proclaiming the truth, by how we live our lives, you and I have to live our lives in consecration to Our Lady and Our Lord, and make the sacrifices He asks. Make the penances we need. Do the mortifications that will change the course of history.

My dear brothers and sisters, engage the battle. Don't sit on the sidelines any longer. When I first came here in the 80's the sense of urgency was great. Everybody was saying, it's the end times, it's going to happen, be ready, be ready. And the urgency grew and grew, and that urgency stirred me up and I went off and I changed my life for Christ. And guess what, it has now been 32 years, and people say, oh we have got time. We don't. Do it now. Do it now. Do it for Our Lady. Do it for Our Lord. But do it. Prepare and enter the battle. And you will not be disappointed. You will not be left alone.

I stumble and fall all the time as a priest. But I stand back up and I get back in the fight. I get back in the fight because Our Lady does not abandon me. Jesus does not abandon me. He will not abandon you. Go out into the battle. Be strong. Be prepared. Be the missionaries of Our Lord. Be the soldiers for Christ. God bless you.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: August 30, 2018 Reflection - Penance!

August 30, 2018

Dear Family of Mary!

August 25, 2018
"Dear children! This is a time of grace. Little children, pray more, speak less and permit God to lead you on the way of conversion. I am with you and love you with my motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Yesterday, Fr. Peter Dugandzic gave a wonderful homily at the English Mass in Medjugorje. I have transcribed it for you. Here is the first half, the second half will be tomorrow. Fr. Peter gave us some very good guidance on how the Lord wants to lead us in these very difficult days. His advice is straight from Jesus and Mary. Here is part 1:

My name is Fr. Peter Dugandzic, and as the sound of that name suggests, I am of Croatian descent. It was 32 years ago this very week that I first came here. I actually beat Fr. Leon! Thirty-two years ago this week, the course of my life changed. And I want you to just keep that in mind as I offer this reflection this morning, for there are a few things that I would like to say that I think are intimately linked to what Our Lady has tried to accomplish all these years.

What would be the one thing that would probably throw you into the greatest panic if you saw the leader of your country, whether it would be a president or a prime minister, come on television and say the words, "We are at war!" You would fear for the young men, you would fear for the young women, you would fear for your own lives, not knowing what it would bring for the future. To hear a leader make that statement is very frightening. Very scary if you ask me.

This is one of those things that from time to time we have to reflect upon because the world is always in a precarious position. And to hear those words, knowing what is going on in the world, would be utterly disastrous. Especially after what we saw last century. We saw horrific things happen. When you reflect upon all the deaths from the First World War, from the Second World War, and you reflect on the deaths that happened from the war in this country or the war that happened in Africa, when you reflect on the pain and the agony that came with it, it's frightening. It's horrific. And it should bother us.

But I say those words to you today as a leader. My dear brothers and sisters, we are at war! We are enlisted in the army of Christ. And we are at war.

Make no mistake about it. This war has raged from Adam and Eve until now. We are at war. And the powers of this world will constantly rage against Christ, constantly rage against our leader. I was reflecting the other day at how things have changed, certainly, from the last century, things have changed dramatically within our Church.

One of the things that have changed I think for the worst is the way we do Confirmation. I don't know if any of you have been to a Confirmation. Every year when they do Confirmation in our parish, the Bishop comes, and every year I listen to the Bishop's homily, and every year I say, "That is a Sacrament that is looking for a definition." Because he doesn't know what to say Confirmation is.

"To be made firm!" In the old rite, the young person would get a slap in the face. The good old days when we could do that. Now forget about it. They would get a little smack in the face with the Bishop indicating to them that "now you are in the army of Christ, and you should expect to be persecuted." You should expect to engage in the battle. And when you engage in that battle, they will rage against you. Sometimes to the point of a physical attack.

I love celebrating this feast of St. John the Baptist. Because this is a reminder to you and to me of just how the devil works. We are at war against the devil. And there was John the Baptist, this seemingly innocent human being who only spoke the truth. Who only stood in the midst of the people and said to them, "This is the will of God." And for it he lost his head.

It can be disturbing sometimes when people speak the truth to us. It can be disturbing to hear the truth because the truth, as we hear from St. Augustine, is a beauty but it is also a burden. The truth is a huge burden. So when we are enmeshed in the truth, and when we speak the truth (now I am not talking about facts alone but truth) the world will rebel. And they all rebelled against John the Baptist.

Now think about it for a second. Did John the Baptist have his military training in the army of Christ? He did. He was out in the desert. There is a lot of evidence that he was part of the Essene community. Living out in the wilderness for years. Jesus went out in the wilderness for years. That prepares us for the battle. That prepares you and prepares me for the battle.
To willingly take on penance, as Father said yesterday. To willingly engage in the word that most of us have forgotten. Mortification. To mortify. To put our passions to death. Every sin I have ever committed in my life was because of inherent passion. And if I don't put those passions to death, the world will win. The world will win.

Instead, we have to mortify those passions, doing acts of penance. And it is different for every person. While Our Lady has said again and again, whether it be at Fatima, at Kibeho, here in Medjugorje, what is one of the things she has brought up again and again? Fasting. Penance.

In the apparitions in Fatima, the word penance was repeated three times by the angel. Penance. Penance. Penance. For those of us who engage in the battle the way Sr. Lucia did, the way Jacinta and Francisco did, the way all of the holy people throughout all of history did, was through penance and mortification. Offering ourselves as Christ offered himself for the salvation of souls. How many stories I have heard in my years of someone offering themselves for someone else who was lost. How someone like St. Monica did for St. Augustine.

How ironic it is that we today don't like to suffer. I talk to a lot of people and people really don't like to suffer. And that is ok, you aren't supposed to like to suffer, but there are certain sufferings that are redemptive. There are certain things that we do in a spirit of fasting that can stop wars, Our Lady told us. We can do something about the war that is going on. You and I can do something about it. (to be continued)

Mary TV: August 29, 2018 Reflection - Permit God to lead you...

(c)Marytv

August 29, 2018
The Passion of St. John the Baptist

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! This is a time of grace. Little children, pray more, speak less and permit God to lead you on the way of conversion. I am with you and love you with my motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call." (August 25, 2018)

"Permit God to lead you on the way of conversion..."

As I pray about these words from Our Lady, an image comes to mind. What I see is a small child standing on a path, and this child wants to go down the path very much. The child has chosen the path, and is stubbornly trying to walk down it. But next to the child is the child's father, and he is trying very much to grasp the child's hand and lead him in a different direction. Of course, we realize the father knows the direction this child should go. But the child is stubborn. So the father allows the child to go down the path a little way further. Then he tries again to grasp his child's hand and turn him around. This goes on until the child finally tires and lets his father carry him home.

Our Lady tells us, "Little children...permit God to lead you on the way of conversion." She sees each of us like that child, strong willed, unwise, distracted by the world, selfish and self-centered. She knows that we are willful, and mistaken many times. We don't know the way.

But the Father will not force us to turn around. He is a patient father. And so He shadows us and gently tries to convince us to turn around until finally we get ourselves into such a mess that we give up, in in our tired state, let Him take us home.

Conversion is that turning towards the way home. It is letting God lead us in our lives, and trusting Him to know what is best. Truly, our Father is with us at each step, ready to show us the way. But we must give Him permission, or He will let us stubbornly go down the wrong path a little further, continually trying to help us out.

Of course, talking less and praying more are the key to discovering Our Father by our side, offering His help.

I think of Psalm 23 in this regard. The Father is our Shepherd. If we surrender to Him, and permit Him to lead us, all will be well.

Ps.23
[A Psalm of David.
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want;
he makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil;
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff,
they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
thou anointest my head with oil,
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
for ever.

May we permit God to lead us on the way of conversion today and every day.

Pray more...

Let's pray together today, the Litany of the Precious Blood, as an act of reparation and petition for our Church in this difficult moment.

Mary TV: August 27, 2018 Reflection - Pray more, speak less!

(c) Anthony Zubac\Marytv 2018

August 27, 2018
St. Monica

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! This is a time of grace. Little children, pray more, speak less and permit God to lead you on the way of conversion. I am with you and love you with my motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call." (August 25, 2018)
Our Lady has often cautioned us to speak less and pray more. But in this moment, when our Church is in convulsions, we need to do as she says, because through our silence, we will grow in strength and courage, and our interior life will explode with inspiration and spiritual power. In our silence we will perceive the road God is leading us on. We will follow Him much more effectively.
Pray more, speak less...
St. Faustina spoke about interior silence in this way. She can help us respond to Our Lady's message:
Silence is a sword in the spiritual struggle. A talkative soul will never attain sanctity. The sword of silence will cut off everything that would like to cling to the soul. We are sensitive to words and quickly want to answer back, without taking any regard as to whether it is God's will that we should speak. A silent soul is strong; no adversities will harm it if it perseveres in silence. The silent soul is capable of attaining the closest union with God. It lives almost always under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. God works in a silent soul without hindrance. (Diary, 477)
In the sufferings of soul or body, I try to keep silence, for then my spirit gains the strength that flows from the Passion of Jesus. I have ever before my eyes His sorrowful Face, abused and disfigured, His divine Heart pierced by our sins and especially by the ingratitude of chosen souls. (Diary, 487)

November 29, [1936]. The Mother of God has taught me how to prepare for the Feast of Christmas. I saw Her today, without the Infant Jesus. She said to me: My daughter, strive after silence and humility, so that Jesus, who dwells in your heart continuously, may be able to rest. Adore Him in your heart; do not go out from your inmost being. My daughter, I shall obtain for you the grace of an interior life which will be such that, without ever leaving that interior life, you will be able to carry out all your external duties with even greater care. Dwell with Him continuously in your own heart. He will be your strength. Communicate with creatures only in so far as is necessary and is required by your duties. You are a dwelling place pleasing to the living God, in you He dwells continuously with love and delight. And the living presence of God, which you experience in a more vivid and distinct way, will confirm you, my daughter, in the things I have told you. Try to act in this way until Christmas Day, and then He himself will make known to you in what way you will be communing and uniting yourself with Him.
(Diary, 785)
Silence is so powerful a language that it reaches the throne of the living God. Silence is His language, though secret, yet living and powerful. (888)
Pray more and speak less!

Mary TV: August 24, 2018 Ivan's encounter with Our Lady

(c) Mateo Ivankovic 2017
August 24, 2018
Dear Family of Mary!

Tonight (August 24, 2018) Ivan met with his prayer group at the Blue Cross. Our Lady came to him during that prayer. After the encounter with Our Lady, Ivan shared his experience. Here are Ivan's remarks:

Now I am going to describe to you what is most important from tonight's meeting:
Tonight also Our Lady has come to us, very joyful. And she greeted us with her motherly greeting, "Praised be Jesus, My dear children!"
Then she prayed here over all of us for an extended period of time. And especially she prayed here over the sick who are present here. And then in a special way tonight she prayed for the families - for holiness in the family - for the youth.
Then she blessed all of us with her motherly blessing. She blessed everything that you brought to be blessed. Then I recommended all of you, all your needs, your intentions, your families, and in a special way I recommended all of you here who are sick.
Then Our Lady continued to pray over all of us and she left in that prayer and the illuminated sign of the Cross with the words, "Go in peace, my dear children."
I would like to emphasize one more time that tonight Our Lady prayed especially for families, for holiness in families. Thank you.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Sister Emmanuel's Report from Medjugorje for August 2018

COM Logo
 Medjugorje, August 22, 2018
Queenship of Mary

Dear children of Medjugorje, praised be Jesus and Mary!

1. On August 2, 2018, Mirjana received her monthly apparition at the Blue Cross, surrounded by a large crowd of young, and not so young, pilgrims who came to the Festival. After the apparition, she transmitted the following message:

"Dear children, with a motherly love I am calling you to open hearts to peace; to open hearts to my Son, so that in your hearts love for my Son may sing, because only out of that love peace comes in the soul.
My children, I know that you have goodness, I know that you have love - a merciful love, but many of my children still have a closed heart. They think that they can do it without directing their thoughts towards the Heavenly Father who illuminates-towards my Son who is always with you anew in the Eucharist and who desires to listen to you. My children, why do you not speak to Him? The life of each of you is important and precious, because it is a gift from the Heavenly Father for eternity. Therefore, do not ever forget to keep on thanking Him: speak to Him.
I know, my children, that what is to come afterwards is unknown to you, but when your hereafter comes you will receive all the answers. My motherly love desires that you be ready. My children, by your life keep putting good feelings in the hearts of the people whom you meet, feelings of peace, goodness, love and forgiveness. Through prayer, hearken to what My Son is saying and act accordingly.
Anew, I am calling you to prayer for your shepherds, for those whom my Son has called. Remember that they need prayers and love. Thank you. "

MESSAGE DU 2 AOUT 2018 A MEDJUGORJE ... MESSAGE DE LA VIERGE MARIE ... GOSPA

2. Our Lady in Galilee! In the little village of Abeline, where Saint Maryam of Bethlehem was born, the Hahouad family was deeply distressed. Their 3-year-old daughter, Eleanor, born with a disability, was doomed to never walk. A month earlier, an Israeli Catholic friend went to visit this stricken family. Seeing the little girl, he had the idea of giving her some rose petals which he had brought back from Medjugorje and which had been blessed by the Mother of God during an apparition. The Gospa (when she appears to the visionaries) actually blesses religious articles that are presented to her: rosaries, icons, crucifixes, medals, as well as rose petals. Pilgrims then give them to those who cannot come, especially to the sick, as signs that their Heavenly Mother is willing to reach out to them through her maternal blessing. With such simple signs received in faith and prayer, Mary does what she wants in the person who is suffering, giving them the graces she deems necessary.
Our friend, upon seeing little Eleanor, was overcome with compassion and began to hope for the impossible. He explained to the family where the petals were from, and left after having prayed with them. In the evening, the grandmother said to the mother, "Did you put the petals on your daughter's legs?" "No", answered the mother! "Well what are you waiting for?" The mother placed the petals on her daughter's lifeless legs, and after praying many Hail Marys, she went to bed, crying all night long because her heart was so heavy. In the morning, the father, a construction worker, asked his wife, "Why don't you go and see if Our Lady has done anything for Eleanor?" The mother went, tried to lift her daughter upright, but - to her amazement - the little girl stood up on her own, she was comfortably standing on her two feet and started to walk in front of everyone! She went out into the courtyard and turned around several times, so amazed that she was finally able to walk! Since then, Eleanor's walking has come on leaps and bounds, and the whole family continues blessing God for this miracle. Medical records attest to this healing which cannot be explained by science. The Gospa of Medjugorje visited this stricken family, how can we not cry out with joy!?

Eleanor's first steps were filmed for one minute, see link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycFpRlS2mOE

3. The Youth Festival
With great enthusiasm, we thank Heaven for the magnificent Festival that we have just experienced in Medjugorje! Thousands of young people have received great graces and have decided to become witnesses back home.
More than one million internet users were able to follow the program via the web, which greatly increased the number of graces. Over 570 priests made themselves available to greet, listen, exhort, console and confess these many young people, and to concelebrate the Eucharist. Among them, was our dear Mgr. Hoser, the Special envoy of Pope Francis...
Our own house Beit Lehemwas full of youngsters, like every year! We were happy to provide this service to Our Lady for her dear young people, so often plagued by the attacks of this world with its destructive viruses. Their lives are difficult because they are surrounded by paganism. They need help to find the true meaning of their existence and prepare their future according to the plan that God has for them in particular! For them, this Festival is a real breath of fresh air...
We created a little six minute video to give you a glimpse of the Festival, seen from Beit Lehem, with our young people. Watch it and pray for them! May they have the grace of perseverance! May they find good priests to encourage them in their decision to walk on the path of holiness! May they never let go of the hand of their Mother from heaven! Thank God for them.

4.The pope's envoy in action!
On Sunday, July 22nd, Mgr. Henrik Hoser celebrated Sunday mass in front of the entire parish of Medjugorje together with many pilgrims. An historical Moment!
On this occasion, Msgr. Luigi Pezzutole, Apostolic Nuncio for Bosnia and Herzegovina, came to Medjugorje and communicated the following letter from Pope Francis:
"To our revered brother, Mgr. Henryk Hoser, Archbishop, Bishop Emeritus of Warsaw-Prague! As the continuation of the task of the Special Envoy of the Holy See for the parish of Medjugorje, which You recently accomplished, and in the desire to express the particular pastoral care that this reality requires, I appoint Your Excellency as Apostolic Visitor with a special role for the parish of MeÄ‘ugorje for an indefinite period, ad nutum Sanctae Sedis, with the authority, obligations and in accordance with the modalities specified in the Mandate attached to this Document. Convinced that You will know how efficiently to carry out the entrusted task in the spirit of positive cooperation with all the interested parties, I assure you of my prayers and with heart I impart you the Apostolic Blessing. At the Vatican, May 31st 2018, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ." Pope Francis.

Bishop Hoser resides in the old presbytery of the Franciscans, where Father Slavko used to live and where so many apparitions occurred. One of Mgr. Hoser's tasks will be to prepare the construction of a chapel of perpetual adoration. To be continued...!

6.  In the face of the new sexual abuse scandals in the Church, it is of course necessary for us to open our eyes and fight by every means to prevent these horrific crimes against children. Let us nevertheless remain centered on Christ and his peace, and never forget that Jesus died because of our crimes, these and all of our own. To fight effectively against these realities that Satan is using to undermine the Church from inside, there is something all Christians can do: prayer, adoration, contemplating Jesus in his Passion, fasting, and lastly - making reparation. Of course, the idea of making reparation might not be very fashionable today, but it is very pleasing to God, as the saints teach us, so let us begin to make reparation! There are 1000 ways to do it, and you will know in prayer what the Holy Spirit will inspire you to do.

However, here are some examples that could guide your choice:
Have a Mass celebrated to free a priest from purgatory.
Offer a day of fasting for the priests in Pennsylvania who are impacted by the recent scandals.
Offer a Way of the Cross for seminarians who are exposed to the dangers of sexual deviations.
Offer a Rosary to help priests who are in the midst of a crushing spiritual struggle.
Offer a Mass for children who have been sexually abused by a member of the clergy or his or her family.
Offer a Mass in honor of the Immaculate Conception and her intentions.
Renounce any compromise in the field of impurity, starting with pornography, indecent or borderline clothing, any inappropriate words, etc.
Offer one or X number of days of sexual abstinence between spouses, etc.

Don't abandon Jesus! We know from the mystics that during his agony at Gethsemane, Jesus saw all the sins of the past and those that were going to be committed in the future. Especially those of the chosen souls and those of the shepherds of his Church. For Him to sweat blood meant he endured dreadful anguish, as dreadful as the sins committed by his children! Jesus asks us more than ever: "Watch and pray with me!" (Lk 22, 33)
By keeping Jesus company and meditating on the pain he endured to save all sinners, we will perform a very powerful act towards curbing the development of these crimes against children, for then, through our prayers and the compassion in our hearts, we will be one heart with our Savior's divine supplication to His Father. Instead of losing ourselves in sterile criticism of the Church, we will contribute to healing by associating ourselves with Jesus and Mary. We will contribute to rebuilding the Church. For only the Church has received from Jesus himself this promise, "The gates of hell shall not prevail against it." (Mt 16, 18)

Dearest Gospa, you call and call your children incessantly, you warn them, feed them, teach them, console them, and prepare them for future struggles... We beg of you, awaken our souls that have fallen asleep in materialism, so that we may begin to work on our immortal souls and be among those whom you call the apostles of your love!
