Mary TV: July 31, 2019 Reflection -- The Tent of Meeting

(c)Mary TV/Anthony Zubac

July 31, 2019
St. Ignatius of Loyola

Dear Family of Mary!

Yesterday, the first reading at Holy Mass was from Exodus 33 and 34, about Moses meeting with the Lord in the Tent of Meeting which was pitched outside of the camp. The Israelites had sinned and so the Lord no longer would come into their midst but would appear to Moses in the Tent outside of the camp. This was a significant change in God's relationship to His people. Fr. John Kane gave a beautiful homily on this reading from Exodus, that I have transcribed. I think it will be a blessing for us all. You can also go to our English Mass Archives to listen to the homily yourselves, July 30, 2019.

Here is the transcribed homily of Fr. John Kane, given in Medjugorje at English Mass on July 30, 2019:

I was listening to the first reading and I suppose there was an element of sadness thinking perhaps why was it that the Tent of meeting was outside the camp? That Moses had to leave the people of Israel, God's chosen ones ultimately, and yet to come out in order to speak to the Lord while all the people would stand or bow down at the entrance of their homes. And they would have to wait then for Moses to come back. He was like that mediator between God and His people.
But we know from this Exodus story that something terrible did happen. Because you know it wasn't God's plan that the Tent would be outside the camp. God's plan was that for God's people in every home there would be a Tent of meeting. In every home there would be a priest that would offer that sacrifice of praise to God on behalf of his people. But we know from this Exodus story something terrible did happen.

You remember the Golden Calf? Remember that story? Moses was up the mountain with the Lord and the Ten Commandments were being offered. And he was coming down off the mountain and he saw the apostasy. The people had returned to their pagan practices from Egypt. So quickly. So easily they fell back into their idolatry. And there was the Golden Calf before them all.

Immediately, what happens when we turn from God. We separate ourselves from His blessing, from His grace, from His presence, from His Tent. And so there must be this separation between God and us. And that is ultimately what happened in the desert with God's chosen people. And what ultimately happened is that God had to make a concessionary plan where he would have to compromise with that original plan that He desired. And I think that is what God has done right throughout our salvation history. He has compromised with us. He has put up with us, because maybe He knows that we are all tainted by original sin.

We are incapable of true worship by our own means. That there is a need for someone to intercede on our behalf to make up for all that is lacking within us. How wonderful the mercy of God is! How wonderful God is that even though we are all sinners that God would make up for it all. I'm just thinking of the first time I came here, oh a long time ago.

How separated I really was from the Lord. I had no interest or desire to pray. I did everything instead of turning up here for Mass. All my intentions were self-centered. It was all about me. I thought I had it all figured out. I was looking at all of you guys and thinking, "Oh they haven't got a clue." Isn't it terrible how we can be so critical?

And yet, God is so good. So merciful! It is as if He knew ahead. He could see ahead of all that pride and selfishness and ego, and He said, "Don't worry, John, you will come to me eventually. I will break into your heart. I will reveal myself in the midst of your pain and suffering, in the midst of your ego-centered, self-centered way. Because I have a plan for you. A plan for peace and prosperity as our Scripture reminds us.

And He did, He brought me up that mountain. I don't know how I ended up there. And Vicka was having an apparition. It was earlier on, it wouldn't be a frequent now. And I saw this girl go into her ecstasy. And I actually didn't know what was happening at that moment. I had to ask the tour guide what was going on. He said, "Our Lady is here." I think I turned to him and said, "Who?"

So, for 10 minutes or so I had to witness this phenomenon of an apparition. This miracle of God, in which He would break into our existence. To reveal His Blessed Mother and the True God who is for us. And you know I came down that mountain and all I recall that in my heart all I felt was that I wanted to go home. I wanted to go home and tell my mother that my brother was ok. Because my brother had died, you see, six months previous through cancer.

So, there was a great pain inside me, a great grief. Suffering and unanswered questions. It was all so painful. It was deep and I was trying to hide it, maybe. I couldn't hide my joy coming down that mountain. A joy that has never left me in 25 years, maybe.

And that's the gift of God. You see, the truth of God is this, that God loves me first. God loves all of us first. He takes the initiative. Otherwise we would have no need of Him.

Grace is primary. Without it we would not exist. And so, God in His mercy touched my broken, wounded heart. Just as Moses interceded and heard the cry of his people, that's what happens for all of us. Cry out to God. He is only waiting, waiting to break in and do something for us.

And you know, he did it for the people. Ultimately His plan would be fulfilled, even with all the compromises through history. Because He sent Jesus to make up for everything. You see, Jesus became the tent of meeting. He is the Temple. And He entered and came among us. It is like He returned to the camp. Because He sat with the sinners. He came to the tax collectors, the sinners, the poor, the lame, the weak. You see, that is what we are. We are all broken and wounded and sinful.

And God knowing that by ourselves we were incapable, He went through it all and He entered. "The Word became flesh and He dwelt among us."

And so here we are today in 2019 in Medjugorje, invited to enter the Temple. To enter the Kingdom of God that is among us. And here is the plan of God today.   Because we are all called to become priests. We are all called to imitate Him who is the High Priest. The One who entered the Temple and brought the ultimate sacrifice of Himself. And the great mystery of Church, and that is what we are, God's body...we are called to share in that prayer, that sacrifice, that offering.

Can you see the Mystery that we are all invited to? Called to? Created for? It's called holiness. Jesus said, "Be holy. Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect." But it is not now by our own strength, as we might think (as young Fr. John taught all those years ago). But it is when we learn to surrender our lives to the ultimate strength and rely on God. To humble ourselves before His power and mercy, and say, "Save me, I am a sinner. I need your forgiveness."

Even this morning I was looking for a priest. Isn't that incredible! To know one's need for God is the great key that opens the door to that life that God wants for us. The Spirit that He wants to pour into our hearts. But if there is sin, if there is an obstacle to that grace, then we are incapable. We will remain outside the Tent. That separation between us and God remains.

Let's not let these days go to waste. Let's strive to encounter that mercy. Maybe we have to go to the mountain first to meet our brokenness. To become weak, so that we will run back down again and cue up for that confession again, and find that priest, and ultimately experience the free gift of God's mercy. Who only desires to embrace us. Amen.

Mary TV: July 30, 2019 Reflection -- The Wreath that binds us to God

(c)Mary TV/Anthony Zubac

July 30, 2019
St. Peter Chrysologus

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! My call for you is prayer. May prayer be a joy for you and a wreath which binds you to God..." (July 25, 2019)

When I first read this message, I wondered what Our Lady could mean by "a wreath which binds you to God." For my English language ears, it seemed a bit odd. So, I did some investigating of the word "wreath" and I looked at some other translations of the message to see what words were used. Here is what I found:

Synonyms of the word "wreath": garland, chaplet, circlet, coronet, crown...

They all can mean a circle of woven flowers or leaves into a round adornment. (One could make a wreath out of roses!) But some of these words carry another meaning as well. Chaplet reminds us of the circle of beads that we call the Rosary. And coronet or crown remind us that the Rosary is also associated with the Crown of Our Lady. So, it seems that this wreath alludes to the Rosary, the prayer of the Rosary!

Here are some translation versions:

Croatian:
vijenac
French:
  la couronne
Italian:  una corona
German: der Kranz
Spanish: una corona

All of these words refer to a wreath, but some of them carry with them the meaning of a crown. In Italian the Rosary can be called "la Corona del Rosario". And that is what finally convinced me that Our Lady was referring to the Rosary as the wreath that binds us to God.

And isn't it true! The Rosary is a strong prayer that brings so much peace when we pray it. It is a beautiful prayer that helps us open our hearts to the Holy Spirit. It is a simple prayer that in so many ways draws our hearts away from the complications of our modern world into a relationship of trust and surrender to the God who loves us. The Rosary is a deep prayer, in which we meditate on the mysteries of the life of Jesus. Those mysteries teach us so much about our fallen nature and the price that Jesus had to pay to save us, not to mention the joy of eternal life that awaits us. This wreath of prayer is a stronger bond than any earthly chain. It is made of roses, but those roses form an unbreakable bond with God.

May we pray our Rosary with all our hearts, with deep gratitude, because through the Rosary we are bound to God forever in bliss!

"...And to me, my children, give the gift of the rosary, the roses which I love so much. My roses are your prayers pronounced with the heart and not only recited with the lips. My roses are your acts of prayer, faith and love. When my Son was little, he said to me that my children would be numerous and that they would bring me many roses. I did not comprehend Him. Now I know that you are those children who are bringing me roses..." (December 2, 2017)

Mary TV: July 29, 2019 Reflection - St. Martha, pray for us!

(c)Mary TV/Anthony Zubac

July 29, 2019
St. Martha

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! My call for you is prayer. May prayer be a joy for you and a wreath which binds you to God. Little children, trials will come, and you will not be strong, and sin will reign but, if you are mine, you will win, because your refuge will be the Heart of my Son Jesus. Therefore, little children, return to prayer until prayer becomes life for you in the day and the night. Thank you for having responded to my call." (July 25, 2019)

It seems to me on this beautiful feast of St. Martha, that we can see exactly what Our Lady means in her message of July 25, 2019. Let me share the Gospel story that we all associate with St. Martha:

Jesus entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak.
Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me."
The Lord said to her in reply, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her." (Luke 10: 38-42)
Our Lady tells us she is calling us to prayer. "May prayer be a joy for you and a wreath which binds you to God." In this Gospel we see Mary at Jesus' feet, unable to pull herself away from His presence. She is in deep prayer. Her soul is completely open to His words. Her heart is responding with love. She has found her refuge in the Heart of Jesus!

But Martha has not yet encountered Jesus with her heart. It seems she is only relating to Him in a social way, being a good hostess. In this "work" she is doing, she is experiencing her own weakness. She is burdened with much serving. As Our Lady says in the message, "Trials will come, you will not be strong..." Martha was experiencing her own weakness in the trial of hosting Jesus. She was trying to meet the trial with her own strength. It is never enough.

And so Jesus tells Martha: "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her." What is that one thing? It is to realize exactly what Our Lady told us: "your refuge will be the Heart of my Son Jesus." In our trials and difficulties, we must remember this. Our refuge is in the Heart of Jesus. Yes, we will be weak in the days ahead. Yes, we will fail if we try to overcome our trials by our own strength. But if we run to the Heart of Jesus in prayer, and stay there, we will win! We will succeed in helping Our Lady and Jesus to save souls.

St. Martha learned her lessen well. She later professed great faith in Jesus, when he came to raise Lazarus from death. She knew that Jesus was her refuge and stayed within that refuge even in the face of the tragedy of her brother's death.

We too must learn our lessen. We need to do as Our Lady has told us: "Therefore, little children, return to prayer until prayer becomes life for you in the day and the night." Day and night, we must run to the Heart of Jesus in prayer, to find wisdom, strength, hope, power and love.

Saints Martha and Mary, pray for us.  Mother Mary, intercede for us in these days of trial.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: July 24, 2019 Reflection - I am thanking God for each of you.

(c)Mary TV

July 24, 2019
St. Sharbel Makhluf

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! I am thanking God for each of you. In a special way, little children, thank you for having responded to my call. I am preparing you for the new times that you may be firm in faith and persevering in prayer, so that the Holy Spirit may work through you and renew the face of the earth. I am praying with you for peace which is the most precious gift, even though Satan wants war and hatred. You, little children, be my extended hands and proudly go with God. Thank you for having responded to my call." (June 25, 2019)

Tomorrow Our Lady will give us a new message for the 25th of the month. In preparation for that message, it is good to look at her last message for the 25th, in order to thank her for it and try one more time to respond to it.

This message struck me as a sort of turning point. She tells us how grateful she is for each of us!! She thanks God for each of us! We are like gifts to her, gifts given by the Father, for He has moved us by the Spirit to find her in Medjugorje. He it was who arranged everything so we would discover Our Lady of Medjugorje. And we are now in a beautiful relationship of love with her because of that introduction by the Father.

That alone moves me deeply. It was a great grace that we received when we first heard of Medjugorje. It was the beginning of a new life for me, and I am sure for all of you. God gave us that grace, through many different means, but once we all heard of Our Lady's presence, it changed our lives. We now visit Medjugorje, read her messages, and respond to her call. We were chosen.

And Our Lady tells us that she is preparing us for the new times! It seems that those new times are coming now. But they will come only through a battle. We will be those who pray for peace while Satan will work hard for war and hatred. We will be firm in faith, while many will fight against faith. We will persevere in prayer while many will not pray. It is going to be a confrontation that we will accept with peace and trust because Our Lady will be with us. She will work through us. And together we will "proudly go with God".

It seems that we are going to face the battle for the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Our faith, prayer, courage, hope, trust, perseverance and peace will defeat the enemy and bring us into that time. We have been chosen. The Father has given us to Our Lady to be her companions in this battle for souls.

"You, little children, be my extended hands and proudly go with God."

Amen!

Mary TV: July 23, 2019 Reflection - The Heavenly Father

(c)Mary TV

July 23, 2019
St. Bridget

Dear Family of Mary!

Our Lady has spoken of the "Heavenly Father" many times in her messages, at least 91 times. She seems to want us to know Him, just as we know Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The Father loves us infinitely. He is the best of fathers. But do we know Him? Do we talk with Him in prayer?

Here is one message where Our Lady asked us to grow in love with the Heavenly Father:

"Dear children, anew, in a motherly way, I am calling you to love, to continually pray for the gift of love, to love the Heavenly Father above everything.

"When you love Him, you will love yourself and your neighbor. This cannot be separated.

"The Heavenly Father is in each person. He loves each person and calls each person by name.

"Therefore, my children, through prayer hearken to the will of the Heavenly Father.

"Converse with Him.

"Have a personal relationship with the Father, which will deepen even more your relationship as a community of my children - my apostles.

"As a mother I desire that, through the love for the Heavenly Father, you may be raised above earthly vanities and may help others to gradually come to know and come closer to the Heavenly Father.

"My children, pray, pray, pray for the gift of love because 'love' is my Son. Pray for your shepherds that they may always have love for you as my Son had and showed by giving His life for your salvation. Thank you." (November 02, 2013)

Each line of this message speaks volumes. I like to separate the sentences so that I can meditate on each one, mulling it over in my head, hearing it with the ears of my heart, reading the words with the eyes of my heart, and letting it form images in my mind.

Let me offer some thoughts that might emerge as we take this message, line by line.

What does Our Lady mean by "in a motherly way?" What do I think of when I think of the motherly way?

I thought love was something I had to do by myself. How can love be a gift?

I never thought about loving the Heavenly Father above everything! But it is the 1st Commandment.
Isn't it true that unless I love the Father, I cannot love myself or anyone else properly! Putting the Father first in my life could help me to love my family properly. His love could inform my natural love.

I usually think of Jesus or the Spirit as being within me. But the Father is there as well! How can I be aware of His loving presence? How can I recognize Him in others?

Hearken to the will of the Heavenly Father.... that means listen to Him speaking to me within, showing me the way His love wants to move me and guide me. His will is His love!!

His presence gives each person a special dignity. We were made to be in His likeness. Each person, individually.

She tells us to converse with the Heavenly Father...just like Jesus did!!

Well, that is a start. You can take each word Our Lady says and have a conversation with her as well!!

Oh, Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Our Mother to us in these days to teach us the happy way of love that You have given to us as the gift of your heart. You want us to be happy with you forever, through love. May we listen to You in our hearts all day today. We need you.

Mary TV: July 22, 2019 Reflection - With sincere repentance of heart

With Sincere Repentance of Heart!
(c)Mary TV

July 22, 2019
St. Mary Magdalene

Dear Family of Mary!

Today we remember and give thanks for St. Mary Magdalene! She was a great sinner who became a very great saint by encountering Jesus when she was most in need of His forgiveness and protection. St. Mary Magdalene loved much because she had been forgiven for so much. Her love for Jesus was deep and strong, allowing her to give witness to Him before Pharisees, Roman Soldiers, and jeering crowds, staying beneath the Cross through Jesus' entire agony and death. Her love teaches us what love really is. May we learn from her how to fall completely in love with our Savior.

Our Lady was St. Mary Magdalene's teacher in this love, and she is now teaching us. Let's listen to her words today:

January 2, 2010 "Dear children, Today I am calling you to, with complete trust and love, set out with me because I desire to acquaint you with my Son. Do not be afraid, my children, I am here with you; I am next to you. I am showing you the way to forgive yourselves, to forgive others, and, with sincere repentance of heart, to kneel before the Father. Make everything die in you that hinders you from loving and saving, that you may be with Him and in Him. Decide for a new beginning, a beginning of sincere love of God Himself. Thank you."

St. Mary Magdalene, please help us to live Our Lady's words in this message, today and every day.
Here is a beautiful litany in honor of St. Mary Magdalene:

LITANY OF ST MARY MAGDALENE
Lord, have mercy on us.
    Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.  Christ, hear us.
    Christ, graciously hear us.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

Saint Mary Magdalen, pray for us.
Sister of Martha and Lazarus, etc.
Thou who did enter the Pharisee's house to anoint the feet of Jesus,
Who did wash His feet with your tears,
Who did dry them with your hair,
Who did cover them with kisses,
Who was vindicated by Jesus before the proud Pharisee,
Who from Jesus received the pardon of your sins,
Who before darkness was restored to light,
Mirror of penance,
Disciple of Our Lord,
Wounded with the love of Christ,
Most dear to the Heart of Jesus,
Constant woman,
Last at the Cross of Jesus, first at His tomb,
You who were the first to see Jesus risen,
Whose forehead was sanctified by the touch of thy risen Master,
Apostle of apostles,
Who chose the "better part,"
Who lived for many years in solitude being miraculously fed,
Who was visited by angels seven times a day,
Sweet advocate of sinners,
Spouse of the King of Glory,
V.  Saint Mary Magdalen, earnestly intercede for us with your Divine Master.
R.  That we may share your happiness in Heaven.
Let Us Pray
May the glorious merits of blessed Mary Magdalen, we beseech Thee, O Lord, make our offerings acceptable to Thee, for Thine only-begotten Son chose graciously to accept the humble service she rendered.  We ask this through Him Who lives and reigns with Thee and the Holy Ghost, God forever and ever. R. Amen.

May the prayers of blessed Mary Magdalen help us, O Lord, for it was in answer to them that Thou did call her brother Lazarus, four days after death, back from the grave to life, Who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Ghost, Unity in Trinity, world without end.  R. Amen.

Mary TV: July 19, 2019 Reflection - The Precious Blood

(c)Mary TV / Anthony Zubac 2018

July 19, 2019

Dear Family of Mary!

May 02, 2019 "Dear children, with a motherly love I am calling you to respond to the great love of my Son, with pure and open hearts, with complete trust. I know the greatness of His love. I carried Him within me, the Host in the heart, the light and the love of the world. My children, also my addressing you is a sign of the love and tenderness of the Heavenly Father - a big smile filled with the love of my Son, a call to eternal life. Out of love, the Blood of my Son was shed for you. That Precious Blood is for your salvation, for eternal life. The Heavenly Father created man for eternal happiness. It is not possible for you who know the love of my Son and who follow Him to die. Life triumphed; my Son is alive. Therefore, my children, apostles of my love, may prayer show you the way and the means of spreading the love of my Son - prayer in the most exalted form. My children, also when you strive to live the words of my Son, you are praying. When you love the people whom you meet, you are spreading the love of my Son. It is love that opens the doors of Paradise. My children, from the beginning, I prayed for the Church. Therefore, I am also calling you, apostles of my love, to pray for the Church and her servants - for those whom my Son called. Thank you." (May 02, 2019)

Mary TV: July 18, 2019 Reflection - I will give you rest....

(c)Mary TV / Anthony Zubac 2019

July 18, 2019
Saint Camillus de Lellis

Dear Family of Mary!

Today Jesus and Mary want to offer us rest. We are all tired. Our struggles, both physical, emotional and spiritual are wearing us out. Our hearts are very often heavy, due to the sorrows of this world. We have little or no control over our circumstances. And so, worry can entrap us. But this is not what Jesus and Mary want for us. They are with us to help us every day to stay in the peace of God.

Jesus told us the way to find rest in the Gospel for today (I have separated the sentences so we can read them slowly and prayerfully):

"Jesus said:
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,

and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,

for I am meek and humble of heart;

and you will find rest for yourselves.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden light." (Mt 11:28-30)

Jesus calls us to come to Him. Come to Him....

Our Lady says the same:
"Dear children, In this restless time, anew I am calling you to set out after my Son - to follow Him.
I know of the pain, suffering and difficulties, but in my Son you will find rest; in Him you will find peace and salvation.

My children, do not forget that my Son redeemed you by His Cross and enabled you, anew, to be children of God; to be able to, anew, call the Heavenly Father: 'Father'.

To be worthy of the Father, love and forgive, because your Father is love and forgiveness.

Pray and fast, because that is the way to your purification, it is the way of coming to know and becoming cognizant of the Heavenly Father.

When you become cognizant of the Father, you will comprehend that He is all you need.

I, as a mother, desire my children to be in a community of one single people where the Word of God is listened to and carried out. (Our Lady said this resolutely and with emphasis.)

Therefore, my children, set out after my Son.
Be one with Him.

Be God's children.

Love your shepherds as my Son loved them when He called them to serve you. Thank you." (June 02, 2013)

Amen and Amen!

Mary TV: July 17, 2019 Reflection - Another beautiful homily by Fr. Max

(c)Mary TV / Anthony Zubac 2019

July 17, 2019

Dear Family of Mary!

We have a another beautiful homily by Fr. Max today.  It was given yesterday, July 16.  Fr. Max makes the point that Elijah is a precursor of Mary, and the Cloud that was Mary that rose over the mountain for Elijah is now Medjugorje rising over the Church.  We are in very important times.  And we need to be clothed by Mary.  Listen to his words:

Opening remarks at the beginning of Mass:

This month of July as we contemplate, venerate, adore the most Precious Blood of Jesus, which is the very center. The center of Jesus is His Heart! But His heart is filled with blood! This blood is the very home of His love, the habitat of His love. And this love makes His blood boiling and feeding the whole body continuously in the Eucharistic celebration throughout the world in the history of the Church and for all times as we are allowed to enter into the heart of Jesus. We believe in his heart, in his love.
We contemplate today Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. She introduces us...brings us to the depth of spiritual life to contemplate, to enter into the heart of Jesus, that in holy simplicity to abide in love. That's all about spiritual life, deep spiritual life, Mary said in simplicity. She wants to lead us there. And then she said, "But you are so cold!" She said that in 1989 in a message [Feb 1989] Let us ask the grace that we may truly believe in the love of God, in an intimacy that he wants to have with each one of us.

Today in the church we are so head orientated and seldom let the heart speak too. From the head to enter into the heart. That's the whole journey of the spiritual life. There Mary wants to guide us.
She speaks of the triumph of her Immaculate Heart. And so today as we look to her as Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, we know that in a certain way this celebration is closely linked to Medjugorje, because Carmel is the place where Elijah the prophet is like the precursor of the order of Mt. Carmel. They themselves - the order of Carmelites - don't speak about a founder. Their founder, in a certain way, was Elijah. Obviously, Our Lady, but Elijah is the precursor of the holy order.

Then in history of time, of the Church this precursor we know, on the 24th of June, here, Mary appears here on the feast day of St. John the Baptist, who Jesus says is Elijah. So today, here, Mary wants again to bring us the heavenly dew, to bring us to Christ, to the little cloud. Let us open our hearts to grace. Let us ask humbly, pardon for our coldness, for whenever we didn't follow her gentle advice, to let ourselves be guided into deep spiritual life in holy simplicity. Letting ourselves be loved, and love.

Homily:

Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel and bowed down to the earth, putting his face between his knees. I think that is a beautiful sign of contemplative prayer, where our intellect, our thoughts are silenced in prayer of adoration, humble, confident loving prayer of adoration.

St. Teresa of Avila, the great Carmelite Doctor of the Church (actually the Carmelites they have of the four women who are doctors of the church, they have Two are Carmelites. One is Edith Stein, (St Theresa Benedicta of the cross). She is one of the patrons of Europe. How many saints the Carmelites have! That Order in the Church which gives us the charism of deep prayer and contemplation.

And so, for St. John of the Cross, another Doctor of the Church. He says that his prayer is just loving. Obviously, love is not an emotion but a result of ardent faith. For him prayer is an exercise of faith. But when we think of exercise we think of something from the head. No, it's he says the same God which ancient saints contemplate in heaven with awe and love and adoration, burning in His love, jubilating in his love, that same God- you are before Him always. But most especially in prayer. So, exercise our eyes of faith. Make acts of faith in the presence of God always. But the most special way as you to enter into prayer.

If we would have a seed, a mustard seed of faith, Jesus said, we would move mountains. A mustard seed is very little, but the quality of a mustard seed is that it is alive. We can have a mountain of faith which is dead but no charity in it. The life of faith is charity.
So anyway deep contemplative prayer is not a matter of a lot of thinking, St. Teresa of Avila said. Even without a lot of speaking, but with a lot of loving. So, in simplicity, Mary wants to guide us here in a deep spiritual life. And therefore, Medjugorje has very much to do with Mount Carmel.

For as we come here the first time in Medjugorje, the second time in Medjugorje, Medjugorje becomes a spiritual journey, and then we have to understand better what prayer is. It is not to recite prayer. But to open ourselves to prayer which is a relationship in its essence.

Now obviously in a relationship in the beginning, we will talk. We talk a lot, we get to know each other. Where are you from, what do you do, what are your hobbies? Whatever. You get to know a person. But then there comes a moment when you look at each other, we contemplate each other. We embrace each other. And all that creates an intimacy.

God would like to do all that with each one of us. He would like to enter into intimacy with us. Heart to heart. He gives His Heart and the very contents of his heart, which is His Blood. Where resides His love, His burning love.

So, we have to be careful as we pray, when God touches our hearts. We shouldn't say to God, "God, wait a moment, I have to finish my prayers." Sometimes we just recite prayer and then we have done our duty. No there is much more. Infinitely more. That is just the beginning.

There is no end to the Love of God. The only end is "oneness". And that will be fully completed only in heaven. Here on earth it remains a journey. A daily adventure, a daily encounter. Always deeper. If we let ourselves be guided by His Holy Spirit. Because this is Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecto of our Faith.

Obviously we see this journey. We see it in this Gospel, but also in Elijah. He went up the mountain. Just divine providence, here in Medjugorje we have two mountains. Medjugorje means "between the mountains." He went up the mountain, which we know ends in Calvary.

Now we all want the sweetness of intimacy with Jesus, but seldom do people want to share in His crosses, in His Passion. And that is actually necessary. St. John of the Cross said very few want that. They want only the joys and the pleasures. But to have these joys and pleasures, always deeper we have to get rid of self. Where there is "I" there is not God. We have to make space, room, for God in us.

As we pray, let us learn in the silence, in the stillness. God speaks in the silence of our hearts. We have rooms of words. So, to find each day moments of silence. A moment of stillness and listening to God who speaks to us in other words, words without noise. And that silence is most beautiful, it is filled with divine love, goodness, beauty.

Another saint, Elizabeth of the Trinity, another Carmelite nun, said "God is silence." And she said, "In prayer, we live already in heaven, here on earth, for God is in our heart, and God is heaven." Those are some of her words.

So to look to the Carmelite spirituality, not what others wrote about them, but what the saints say. Go to the root, go to the fountain. And don't drink from the plastic bottles in all the books. Go to the root. Find what they said. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross. It is a little bit hard with St. john of the Cross. Start with little Therese of the Child Jesus, she is another Carmelite Doctor of the Church, who shows us the little way. It is just confident trust and abandonment. Assurance, to be loved.

That journey is good, contemplated through the Rosary. In fact, the soul of the Rosary, as St. John Paul II said...the soul of the Rosary is the life of Jesus. The saints, like St. Teresa of Avila, and many other saints, contemplated specially the Sorrowful Mysteries. Jesus' Passion, His Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, His Crucifixion. But as you pray the Rosary, never think it is something of the past. For it is always now. It is always now.

When you pray the Sorrowful Mysteries, we must be with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, because it is always now. He's not bound by time. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. He embraces all time and space. And everything He brings to the Father.

So, as you pray the Glorious Mysteries, it is the Ascension. It is always Ascension time. The whole history, although today it doesn't seem so, because we see so many evil things going on...domination and dictatorship of relevatism, of communism, whatever in the world, as we see the world in entirety. And yet, Christ is reigning and bringing everything to the Father.

But we can make a conscious choice to say yes to that journey. And so, we help others to find their way home. For we are all here on that journey. And that is the very reason for our lives, the meaning of our lives. Mary said it is Christ, Himself. Only Him.

And on the journey Mary gives us her mantle. The Carmelites have the privilege to give us the scapular. Which is first of all protection, alive and when dying! How important that protection is. To be protected. The other meaning is that Mary wants to clothe us. She wants to clothe us, under her mantle. She wants to live in us. She wants to think in us, to breathe in us, to work through us, in order for what? To form in us, Christ.

That is the dignity of John under the Cross as Jesus entrusted John to Mary. "And he took her into his home." That she could form again that miracle that is Christ in our hearts and in our midst in this world.

Mary is that little cloud that appeared as Elijah prayed. Obviously in the history of mankind that cloud is Mary. She brings us Jesus. But in the history of the Church, that cloud is Medjugorje. In the desert of our times, as I said, of all these new ideologies which come forth from the big mainstream, megatechs that today manipulate all of humanity. In that desert of our time, Medjugorje is like that little cloud. And it is getting bigger.

38 years ago, that little cloud seemed like nothing. Behind the Iron Curtain, a little village, 6 children, little children. But now after 38 years we see that that cloud has grown bigger. Eventually, and already, little drops of water are falling. How many conversions, how many vocations...but the full rain has not yet begun. The full rain of grace.

Mary said in her last message - a new Pentecost - she said, "the Holy Spirit will renew the face of the earth." All this can be hastened, and we can contribute to it, through our daily prayer. Prayer in hiddenness. The Carmelites, they don't pray in front of the plazas where everyone will see them. They remain hidden. St. Edith Stein, she wanted to be hidden, although she was a very famous philosopher before her conversion.

In silence, offering our lives, in union with Christ. That is the beauty of life. That is the fullness of life. And so, we can contribute and really become always more the Apostles of Love of Our Lady. She can clothe us daily, more and more through the Blood of Jesus. The Sacraments with Christ, her Son, who today through us wants to be present to the world. And draw all things to the Father. Amen.

Mary TV: July 16, 2019 Reflection - A beautiful homily on love by Fr. Max

  A new kind of love!
(c)Mary TV / Anthony Zubac 2019

July 16, 2019
Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Dear Family of Mary!

Fr. Maximilian Dalvai- Homily for English Mass, Sunday, July 14, 2019:
(The Gospel for this Mass was the Good Samaritan - Luke 10: 25-37)

In the evening our of lives, St. John of the Cross states that we will be judged by the love that we have in our hearts. It is all about love. Your love counts. And in the new commandment that Jesus gives us, St. John says that it is old, but it is new. Because now it is in Christ, it is a different way of love, for He shows us the fullness of love.

It is the two-fold commandment of love of God and love of neighbor.

"You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, with all your might." I think very few people confess that they have not lived up to the First Commandment, which is the root of all other commandments. To love God with all our soul, strength, mind is to be love. To fall in love, over and over again.

First of all, it is always to believe in the love of God, which is not as natural as we think. So many times, we are afraid, and so how can we be afraid when we love? You can't believe in the love of God. So, believe in the love of God!! Open ourselves to the love of God. Let ourselves be loved. And with this love, love God.

And fall in love over and over again. And in this love now, love our neighbor. In the love of God, the love of neighbor is real. And the love of neighbor is always proof that our love of God is real. The two belong to one another. But one is the source. The wellspring.

The opposite of love on the one hand is hatred. Mary says that hatred is growing in the world. It is tremendous (terrible) to think of that. If love is a relationship in which one gives himself to another, the gift of self, then hatred is that relationship charged negatively. On the other hand, the opposite of love is not only hatred, but I think the worst enemy of love is indifference.

Pope Francis speaks of the globalization of indifference, where we are so filled with self-love, so egocentric, that others do not count at all. It is tremendous (terrible). The evil one wants to plant in our hearts this indifference. This coldness where there is no place for compassion. In how many big cities people are dying in the street and nobody cares at all.

This indifference towards man, our fellow brothers and sisters, has its root again in our indifference towards God. Mary, since the first messages, has said that the great sin of humanity today is that we know God exists, but we don't care. Indifference. This is the great sin of humanity today, because if we know God exists, it is a holy duty and a holy joy to look for Him, to search for Him, every day again. To make it an adventure every day to find God. Mary said, to even find Him in the smallest flower. Or in a little child. Find God continuously. Look for Him continuously. Because He lets himself be found! For those who look for Him, especially in prayer.

Yes, we know that God exists. Knowledge alone is not enough. The doctor of the law who put Jesus to the test, the lawyer...he knows, but in his knowledge, he doesn't love. He puts to the test. There are so many people inside the Church who know these things, but they put others to the test to see of others live them. They look all over outside themselves, but they never question themselves. They are righteous, they are right because they go to church on Sunday and they do all the things which the law prescribes, but to know is not enough.

Even the devil knows. He knows the Bible (we cannot say by heart because he has no heart) by head, but he doesn't live up to it. The priest and the Levite who pass by the unfortunate man who fell at the hands of the robber, they know. But their knowledge puts them in chains. There are human laws that can chain us. Because according to their law, a priest who worked in the Temple in Jerusalem, could not touch blood. Blood was sacred. So only the blood of the sacrifice in the tent could be touched. But profane blood outside the Temple could not be touched. He would have become impure, and it would be a long purification process to be again able to worship in the Temple.

So, there are human laws that directly go against charity. If there is a human law that goes directly against charity which is the law of God, you have to reject that law. In France, for example, a law came out that if a young woman wants to have an abortion because she has no means, but there are other people who would like to help, and they put their announcement on the internet to offer help to women who have difficulties to bring their child to birth, help them financially and different ways, those announcements are no longer legal. You would be in conflict with the law if you tried to help someone to give birth to their child. Can you imagine? So, they have to find other ways, hidden ways, secret ways. But obviously the law of God is first always.

So, knowledge is not enough. But the man asks then, "But who is my neighbor?" Sometimes we think we know a lot, but we don't now the basic questions. The one who is along the road of my daily journey. It might be husband, wife, neighbor, co-worker at the office. Every day God brings us someone we can help. Sometimes people think, I am so needy of the help of others that I can't help anyone. I have no means, no clothes, very little food. I cannot clothe and feed all the needy in the world. We can't do that, but the one we find on the roadside, yes. Before we look for those around the world, we should look for those around us, because love always starts at home.

People say that don't have enough to help. But think of St. Veronica of the Passion. She had nothing. Just a piece of cloth. But what relief she gave to Jesus. She had the courage, the internal strength to give to Him, to dry His face.

Knowledge is not enough.  There is some tendency within the church to make of the whole religion just some knowledge.  Knowledge is obviously important.  But it has to go to the heart.   There is a wisdom of the heart.  And that is all about love.  We have to learn about that more and more because at the end what will count - we will be judged by love.

So, the first reading speaks about this... it is not far away, it is not up in the heavens, but no, it's in your mouth, it's in your heart.  There, deep inside us.  And the second reading also speaks about that closeness of the law of love, of God in us, when St. Paul speaks about Christ in the letter to the Colossians, this beautiful Christological Hymn:  he said everything was created through Him.  Everything was created for Him, in view of Him.  And everything is held up into being, into existence by Him.

If you would reflect a little bit and meditate a little bit about this mystery of Christ. Mystery of light and glory, everything is created through Him - the word, the mighty words of saints, everything into being.

Today science, after having thought for centuries the world and all that is created existed always.  And the story of creation in the Bible was a nice fairy tale.   Now they admit through the theory of the Big Bang there was a "Big Bang" they call it.  We know there was creation.  And so, they say today everything in the end, time space and matter.  All creation, the visible world is time, space and matter.  And the words of the Bible say exactly that.  In the beginning (time) God created the heavens (space) and the earth (matter).  But that's just the visible world.  And though it is huge, there are billions of galaxies, it is just way out of our understanding. And yet, the invisible world that God created is bigger and much, much greater.

The visible world, the Universe, is just a little dot in the hands of God, before the invisible world, which is eternal, because it is the world of God Himself. And there we are called to live.  And to just form this visible world that it may always become the Kingdom of God.  Then we can collaborate. Yes, Christ brought everything into being. Creation is an ongoing process. It didn't just happen 15 Billion years ago, but it is an ongoing process. If God didn't create us now we would cease to exist. So, everything we do, we do in God.
Listen to the presence of God in the depths of our hearts. That we can do His work. That we can live with His strength, with His Spirit the Commandment of Love. That Christ, the Good Samaritan...because He is the Good Samaritan -the very first Samaritan is actually the Word of God, The Sacred Scripture. And then the Word became Flesh. And so, Christ, the Good Samaritan, if you really listen to Him in the silence of our hearts, He can today again, through us, be the Good Samaritan who places people on our daily journey, and we can become collaborators of the Kingdom of God. We can become always more the Apostles of Love of our Heavenly Mother.

Amen.

Mary TV: July 15, 2019 Reflection - May your prayers always be along side them.

A blessing from the Priests on Retreat in Medjugorje
(c)Mary TV / Anthony Zubac 2019

July 15, 2019
Saint Bonaventure

Dear Family of Mary!
"...My children, as a mother I am telling you: you cannot go on the way of faith and follow my Son without your shepherds. Pray that they may have the strength and the love to lead you. May your prayers always be alongside them. Thank you.  (July 2, 2019)

The past few days in Medjugorje priests from all over the world have gathered for the Annual Priest's Retreat. It is reported that over 350 priests attended from 32 countries. After Holy Mass on Saturday night- July 13 - the priest retreatants gathered around the altar and gave a priestly blessing to all the pilgrims at the church! It was a powerful moment!! (See the picture above)

Our Lady frequently reminds us to pray for our priests. She knows how very much we need them. They are our connection with heaven and with Jesus. Without them, we could not receive the Sacraments, of which we have great need. Here are two prayers that may help us to pray for our priests daily. St. Pope John Paul II and St. Faustina Kowalska, our great Polish saints, wrote these prayers. We can pray them with all our hearts!

St. Pope John Paul II's Prayer for Priests to Our Blessed Mother
Mother of Jesus Christ and Mother of priests,
Accept this title which we bestow on you to celebrate your motherhood and to contemplate with you the priesthood of your Son and of your sons, O holy Mother of God.
Mother of Christ, to the Messiah Priest you gave a body of flesh
through the anointing of the Holy Spirit for the salvation of the poor and the contrite of heart; guard priests in your heart and in the Church, O Mother of the Savior.
Mother of Faith, you accompanied to the Temple the Son of Man,
the fulfillment of the promises given to the fathers; give to the Father for his glory the priests of your Son, O Ark of the Covenant.
Mother of the Church, with the disciples in the Upper Room
you prayed to the Spirit for the new People and their shepherds;
obtain for the Order of Presbyters a fullness of gifts, O Queen of the Apostles.
Mother of Jesus Christ, you were with Him at the beginning of His life and of His mission, you sought the Master among the crowd,
you stood beside Him when he was lifted up from the earth
consumed as the one eternal sacrifice, and you had John close by you, your son; accept from the beginning those who have been called, protect their growth, accompany your sons in their life and in their ministry, O Mother of Priests.

St. Faustina's Prayer for Priests
Heavenly Father, grant that our priests be strengthened and healed
by the power of the Eucharist they celebrate.
May the Word they proclaim give them courage and wisdom.
We pray that all those whom they seek to serve
May see in them the love and care of Jesus,
Our Eternal High Priest, who is Lord for ever and ever. Amen.
Mary, Mother of the Church, look tenderly upon your sons, our priests.
St Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, pray for us all.
O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church:
Grant it love and the light of Your Spirit and give power to the words of priests so that hardened hearts might be brought to repentance and return to You, O Lord.
Lord, give us holy priests;
You Yourself maintain them in holiness.
O Divine and Great High Priest,
may the power of Your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil's snares which are continually being set for the souls of priests.
May the power of Your mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priests, for You can do all things.

Mary TV: July 12, 2019 Reflection - My children who have true faith are happy

(c)Mary TV / Anthony Zubac 2019

July 12, 2019
Dear Family of Mary!

"...My children, my Son, by His love and sacrifice, brought the light of faith into the world and showed you the way of faith. Because, my children, faith elevates pain and suffering. True faith makes prayer more sensitive, and does acts of mercy-a conversation, a gift of alms. Those of my children who have faith-true faith-are happy despite everything because they live the beginning of heavenly happiness on earth. Therefore, my children, apostles of my love, I am calling you to give an example of true faith, to bring light where there is darkness, to live my Son. " (July 2, 2019)

Our Lady used the word "faith" seven times in this section of the July 2, 2019 message. Clearly, she wants us to understand that our faith, true faith, in God our Creator is fundamental in these days. It is faith that the world lacks. The darkness has grown over the past few years and the light of faith has been dulled. It is up to us to rekindle that light.

I found this wonderful litany of Trust written by one of the Sisters of Life in New York. This prayer asks for deliverance from the obstacles we have to true faith. Isn't it true! We do have many obstacles to true faith which is true trust in God. The devil has been working very hard to destroy faith these days. He erects obstacles and bondages in our lives so that our faith will die. We need deliverance to regain a living and true faith. May this prayer begin the healing process in our lives so that our faith and trust in God will be rekindled and strengthened for the days ahead. Our Lady needs us to be people of strong faith!

Litany of Trust
From the belief that I have to earn Your love ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear that I am unlovable ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From the false security that I have what it takes ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear that trusting You will leave me more destitute ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From all suspicion of Your words and promises ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From the rebellion against childlike dependency on You ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From refusals and reluctances in accepting Your will ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From anxiety about the future ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From resentment or excessive preoccupation with the past ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From restless self-seeking in the present moment ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From disbelief in Your love and presence ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being asked to give more than I have ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From the belief that my life has no meaning or worth ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of what love demands ... Deliver me, Jesus.
From discouragement ... Deliver me, Jesus.
That You are continually holding me, sustaining me, loving me ... Jesus, I trust in you.
That Your love goes deeper than my sins and failings, and transforms me ...Jesus, I trust in you.
That not knowing what tomorrow brings is an invitation to lean on You ... Jesus, I trust in you.
That you are with me in my suffering ... Jesus, I trust in you.
That my suffering, united to Your own, will bear fruit in this life and the next ...Jesus, I trust in you.
That You will not leave me orphan, that You are present in Your Church
...Jesus, I trust in you.
That Your plan is better than anything else ... Jesus, I trust in you.
That You always hear me, and in Your goodness always respond to me ...Jesus, I trust in you.
That You give me the grace to accept forgiveness and to forgive others ...Jesus, I trust in you.
That You give me all the strength I need for what is asked ...Jesus, I trust in you.
That my life is a gift ... Jesus, I trust in you.
That You will teach me to trust You ... Jesus, I trust in you.
That You are my Lord and my God ... Jesus, I trust in you.
That I am Your beloved one ... Jesus, I trust in you.

Mary TV: July 11, 2019 Reflection - The Fatherhood of God

(c)Mary TV / Anthony Zubac 2019

July 11, 2019
St. Benedict

Dear Family of Mary!

I couldn't resist transcribing the homily for English Mass on July 10. Fr. Maximilian captured the great struggle we are in, in its essence. I hope you don't mind, it is very important.

Fr. Maximilian Dalvai - English Mass Homily for July 10, 2019:

"Go to Joseph." You know to the families of the whole world, Pharaoh said, "Go to Joseph!" You know, today, there is a famine, a disorder and a disorientation in the whole world. Again, we should hear these words. "Go to Joseph!"

Joseph, the Patriarch, son of Israel (Jacob), is a good type of St. Joseph of Nazareth. There are certain parallels which are obvious. For instance, both men were guided by dreams. Both men went to Egypt. Joseph, the son of Israel, is also a type of Christ. He suffered for his brothers. He was sold as a slave. Betrayed by his own brothers.

If we go to Joseph of Nazareth today, he will, like the Joseph in the Old Testament, open the treasures of his house to you. To all of us! He will introduce you to the Holy Family of Nazareth, to his spouse, Mary, and his child, Jesus. For you can also be a child of God and grow in His likeness. Joseph is there as a father to you and me. And we have to recognize his role. He has an important role. He is very hidden, silent and discreet. He does not impose himself.

And so, he is a beautiful figure, sign, or type of the Heavenly Father, of whom we have a totally wrong idea. And that is because of the terrible wound of original sin which creates ignorance about God. Adam and Eve, instead of running to His embrace, telling Him what they did wrong and asking pardon, they chose to hide. The truth about God must have vanished from their hearts and minds.

To look to Joseph. And so also to look to the Joseph of the Old Testament. Today he did such a beautiful thing. It is actually read tomorrow, but tomorrow we celebrate St. Benedict, the great patriarch and father of monks, and so we don't hear the reading about Joseph tomorrow, but they go together. Joseph, to his brothers who are speechless as he lets them recognize who he is, he says, "Don't be dismayed. For God allowed all this to happen."

First, they threw him into a hole, and then they sold him as a slave. Can you imagine how he looked towards them, his own brothers selling him. How tremendous this was for his heart, how much he suffered. But he said, "God allowed all this to happen and now in this time of famine, our whole family can be saved."

So, you see, this terrible aggression against him was seen with other eyes, it's called the eyes of faith. See it from the viewpoint of God. You know God permits everything for our very good. Our intellect is purified if we learn to see good and bad experiences always from the view point of God, with the eyes of faith. Always there is something good. It is beautiful! He could have been rebellious, he (Joseph) could have not recognized them, destroyed them, punished them. No, no. We see the nobility of his heart and soul. He is really one of the great patriarchs. He is an outstanding figure in the Old Testament. And how he now teaches them, because we can ask ourselves, why does he not reveal himself, saying, "Hey, I am Joseph...don't worry. I will give you..." No, he doesn't let himself be recognized. And why all this?

He wants to guide them in his wisdom, because he is really a wise patriarch. His wisdom wants to guide them. From egocentrism, to the tenderness of love. From being just a gang or mob, because they are just a gang or mob if they sold their own brother, to a family spirit. From rebellion or pride, to childhood. That is the heart of the matter. From rebellion and pride, to childhood.

And so that suffering that he let them endure (You can read these passages in Genesis, Chapters 37 to 50. The whole story of Joseph is amazing!). That suffering helped them mature internally. Until one of them, Judah, made a most beautiful statement. He finally recognized what mattered. Because Joseph wanted to keep his younger brother with him. Now those twelve sons become the fathers of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. They had different mothers, but one father, Jacob. But different mothers. Now Benjamin and Joseph had the same mother, so Benjamin was his brother totally, not a half-brother but a real brother. So, Joseph wanted to keep him, to see their reaction.

And Judah said, "Now if you keep him, our father at home will die for pain and sorrow." So, he finally understood what matters. The father, not just himself. Not just I. But the father matters. To pay attention to the father.

You see, today we suffer the last consequences of the destruction of fatherhood.  In the end it is against the Fatherhood of God because we don't understand it.  Because of a few bad examples we think fathers are like that.  It's not true.  So, if we don't know what a father is about, go to Joseph.  The 12 apostles - they were fathers of faith for all of us.  And if today some of them are Judases and betray Jesus - one of the 12 - think today there are thousands, a hundred thousand - how many Judases there might be!  We can't let all fatherhood be destroyed in the Church.

I know here in Bosnia that they have the most beautiful faith.  Mary came here and said, "There's still faith.  And therefore, I came."

I have heard of a new movement (The Seven Sisters Movement) in which seven women make a flower of seven petals.  In the middle they write the name of a priest.  And on the seven petals around there is written seven names, one for each day, Monday, Tuesday, etc. They offer themselves to pray, to go to Mass that day, offer up the Eucharist, pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and another prayer for their parish priest. With seven petals, they make a flower for him, to protect him. That is most beautiful.

For the priest has received the authority of Christ, but you see they are still humans. They can be weak like Peter, the first Pope. You see what he did, he denied Jesus. So, there are still Peters today, and we can all be Peters sometimes. Let's always know that through the fatherhood of the Apostles, we reach to the Fatherhood of God.

So, rebellion in the end is always rebellion against God and the devil uses it very well. And those last consequences today, we know it well. It is gender, LGBT, the girls want to be guys, the guys want to be girls. It is a total mess. Total disorder. What have we reached? It is the last outcome of rebellion against God the Father. Why? Because we don't know His tenderness and love, His goodness. We just fear. And that fear is put into us by the devil and he uses the bad examples of some of the fathers of our times and of all times.
So again, let's go to Joseph. Let's ask Joseph to teach us fatherhood. And he, being a father to Jesus...can you imagine? A father to Jesus!! No one ever has been told to be a father to Jesus. You can be His brothers, His sisters, His Mothers, but never His Father. Who has seen Me has seen the Father...But Jesus looks at Joseph and says, "Abba".   "Daddy"

So what a father Joseph was. But at the same time, he remained a child of God. Joseph, at the same time he remained a child of God. And he knew that he was just an instrument of the Divine Father which in his fatherhood is totally also mother. And we need to recognize in this time that it is God who is Father and Mother to us. The tenderness of a father with the mercy of a mother. He loves us. Then we can come with confidence to him and so enter through the Holy Family of Nazareth, into the Divine Family of God, the Trinitarian life which is the outcome of the new time. And after all this disorder there will be a new time of grace. There will be a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit will renew the face of the earth. But He wants to do that with us and through us. Giving us new knowledge, new wisdom and new love. A new family spirit. And yes, new love for God the Father. Amen

Father's homily is very deep. I just thought we could read it and then listen to it again, and let his words take root in us.
