Mary TV: July 31, 2018 Reflection - Live Heaven here on earth.

(c) Mary TV
Live Heaven here on earth...

July 31, 2018
St. Ignatius of Loyola

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! God called me to lead you to Him because He is your strength. That is why I am calling you to pray to Him and to trust in Him, because He is your refuge from every evil that lurks and carries souls far from the grace and joy to which you are all called. Little children, live Heaven here on earth so that it will be good for you; and may the commandments of God be a light on your way. I am with you and I love you all with my motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call." (July 25, 2018)

Our Lady in this message is giving us instruction in survival. She is showing us how to face these tumultuous days with strength. As our Church is being rocked with scandal at the highest levels, we all need a guiding light, a way to proceed. And she is giving us just that light.

"Dear children! God called me to lead you to Him because He is your strength." The Father has sent Our Lady to lead us, to be our guiding light, the way to go to be with God. She has been providing that guidance for us for 37 years. She has led us to the Lord, so that we can receive His strength in these very difficult days.

"That is why I am calling you to pray to Him and to trust in Him, because He is your refuge from every evil that lurks and carries souls far from the grace and joy to which you are all called." Our Lady has called us to be people of prayer, people who spend much time with Jesus in prayer. This prayer fills us with trust. We experience the interventions of the Lord in our everyday life, and our trust in Him grows.

The Surrender Prayer that Denis and I pray every day in the Daily Rosary is exactly this kind of trust. Putting everything in Jesus' hands, and letting Him take over in our lives is really the way to becoming strong. We become strong because we are depending on the One who has all power and all authority. Jesus can carry us all, if we place ourselves in His hands. "O Jesus, I surrender myself to You. Take care of everything!" Here is a link to the novena prayers of surrender we pray: https://marytv.tv/novena-prayers/

Yes there is great evil in our day, trying to take us far away from God. But Our Lady is with us to lead us back to God. She is coming to teach us the way.

"Little children, live Heaven here on earth so that it will be good for you; and may the commandments of God be a light on your way." Isn't this an amazing word for us!! Live Heaven here on earth so it will be good for you... How do we live heaven on earth? I believe there is a clue in the "Our Father" that Jesus taught us. He said we should pray this way: "Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven..."

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. I believe this is the key to living Heaven on earth. We need to learn how to live God's will on earth, as the souls live God's will in Heaven! But how do the saints in Heaven live God's will? This is a very good question. How do they live God's will in Heaven? My stab at an answer is that they love God with their entire being, and that love teaches them everything they need to know about God's will for them. It is the Love that guides them to do what God has planned for them. And so we need to grow in love for the Lord, so much in love, that we desire only to please Him. He will show us the way. And that way will always contain the commandments. God's love is expressed in the commandments, and so the commandments will be our means to loving God always.

Well, finally Our Lady tells us: "I am with you and I love you all with my motherly love." If we have any doubt about doing what she has asked us to do, we can set it aside, because she is with us now, in an extraordinary way. She will not leave our side. And with her help, we will live Heaven here on earth...

I can't wait for the Youth Festival, starting Wednesday!!

Mary TV: July 30, 2018 Reflection - "We have a great responsibility!"

(c)Mateo Ivankovic
The Papal Flag which flies outside St. James Church!!!!

July 30, 2018
St. Peter Chrysologus

Dear Family of Mary!
Every week Rosie Zubac gives Mary TV the news from Medjugorje! She captures the daily realities of Medjugorje and helps us all feel connected to Our Lady's village. But this week, in her "Tea with Rosie" she shared about the coming of Archbishop Hoser to Medjugorje! It is such good news, so joyful and life-giving to hear him share about his mission. So I am quoting Rosie in this reflection. You can view the video of "Tea with Rosie" on our website in the archive window on the home page. https://marytv.tv/tea-with-rosie/

Thank you, Rosie, for keeping us informed and in touch with Medjugorje:

This is Rosie Zubac, speaking to you from Medjugorje!

On the 22nd of July, a new era was marked here in Medjugorje. The Holy See's Visitor, Archbishop Hoser, began his mission here. At the beginning of this month, the Apostolic Nuncio, Monsignor Luigi Pezzuto, read the letter from the Pope in which he explained the appointment of Archbishop Hoser in Medjugorje and his mission.

There were many, many priests concelebrating the Evening Mass, and as well as Monsignor there was Bishop Guido Gallese, Bishop of Alessandria from Italy. It was a wonderful occasion where we actually received acknowledgement from the Vatican for this place of Medjugorje and all the pilgrims who come here. We are very happy that the Archbishop is resident here and is going to help with the running of the Parish of Medjugorje.
The 25th of July is the Feast Day of St. James. He is the Patron Saint of Medjugorje, the patron of pilgrims, and the statue that we have here depicts him as a pilgrim, with his walking staff and his small water vessel, and his seashell. Those are all signs of a pilgrim. This year the people of Medjugorje went on a procession to the garden with the ruins of the old church, where there is an outside altar. There was a procession with the statue of St. James, which was followed by local people in traditional dress, and many priests concelebrated the Mass.

At the end of this Mass, the Archbishop addressed the people of Medjugorje. He said, "We have a great responsibility towards the whole world, because truly Medjugorje has become a place of prayer and conversion for the whole world. Accordingly, the Holy Father is concerned and sends me here to help the Franciscan priests to organize and to acknowledge this place as a source of grace for the whole world."

These were remarkably positive words from the Archbishop. And so we are all really happy about this appointment for the sake of the parish and for the devotion, Our Lady, Queen of Peace.

On the 25th of every month, the visionary, Marija, from Medjugorje has a message for the world, and this month and every month, after we receive this message there is all night Adoration in the church of St. James. It is a way to meditate on the words of Our Lady and to adore her Son, Jesus. So if you come here, and maybe you have come from a country far away and you have jet lag, you can come here and spend that night in prayer.

So that's about it for me this week, so God bless you and God willing I will see you next week!  Good bye!!
I don't think we have yet completely understood what a big change has come to Medjugorje. Archbishop Hoser has brought the protection and pastoral care of Pope Francis to Medjugorje. Let's pray for the Archbishop as he begins his mission in Medjugorje!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: July 27, 2018 Reflection - The Lord is my strength!

July 27, 2018
Dear Family of Mary

"Dear children! God called me to lead you to Him because He is your strength. That is why I am calling you to pray to Him and to trust in Him, because He is your refuge from every evil that lurks and carries souls far from the grace and joy to which you are all called. Little children, live Heaven here on earth so that it will be good for you; and may the commandments of God be a light on your way. I am with you and I love you all with my motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call." (July 25, 2018)

"Dear children! God called me to lead you to Him because He is your strength."
In the Psalms there are many references to God as our strength, our refuge, our protector, our shield. Clearly the psalmists had had experiences of the strength and protection of the Lord, for they sang about it many times. Here are four selections from the Psalms that extol the Lord for being the strength and safety of His people. We can pray these Psalms with the same conviction. The Lord is our strength! He is our salvation!

Psalm 18
I love thee, O LORD, my strength.
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised,
and I am saved from my enemies. (Ps 18:1-3)

Psalm 28
Blessed be the LORD!
for he has heard the voice of my supplications.
The LORD is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts;
so I am helped, and my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him.
The LORD is the strength of his people,
he is the saving refuge of his anointed.
O save thy people, and bless thy heritage;
be thou their shepherd, and carry them for ever. (Ps 28:6-9)

Psalm 3
O LORD, how many are my foes!
Many are rising against me;
many are saying of me,
there is no help for him in God. [Selah]
But thou, O LORD, art a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head.
I cry aloud to the LORD,
and he answers me from his holy hill. [Selah]
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, for the LORD sustains me.
I am not afraid of ten thousands of people
who have set themselves against me round about.
Arise, O LORD!
Deliver me, O my God!
For thou dost smite all my enemies on the cheek,
thou dost break the teeth of the wicked.
Deliverance belongs to the LORD;
thy blessing be upon thy people! [Selah]

Psalm  91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High,
who abides in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust."
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand;
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD your refuge,
the Most High your habitation,
no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
For he will give his angels charge of you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
Because he cleaves to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
and show him my salvation. (Ps 91:1-16)

Mary TV: July 24, 2018 Reflection - The Homily given by Archbishop Hoser on July 22, 2018

Archbishop Henryk Hoser, Apostolic Visitor to the Parish of Medjugorje

July 24, 2018
St. Sharbel Makhluf

Dear Family of Mary!

I have transcribed the homily of Archbishop Henryk Hoser, the Apostolic Visitor, given on July 22, 2018 at the Evening Mass in Medjugorje. It is transcribed from the translation into English given that evening. All I can say is "Thank you, Archbishop Hoser!!!"

Transcript of the Homily of Archbishop Hoser, given in Medjugorje, July 22, 2018:
Your Excellency, Monsignor Apostolic Nuncio in Bosnia and Hercegovina, Your Excellency, Bishop of Alexandria de la Pallia, Reverend Father Provincial, dear Priests, dear Persons of Consecrated Life, dear Faithful of the Parish of Medjugorje, dear Pilgrims, Brothers and Sisters!

The Lord speaks, "Woe to the shepherds who mislead and scatter the flock of my pasture". The Holy Father, the Universal Shepherd of the Church, takes the words of the prophet as his own. He sends us there where people exist and live, there where the faithful gather together seeking the light of salvation.

Today the Lord provides us with an incomparable example, and the role model of missionaries. When He disembarked and saw the vast crowd, His heart was moved with compassion for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.

The Holy Father sends apostles and missionaries all over the world, in accordance with Christ's command, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and behold I am with you until the end of the age."

Gathered together at this Sunday Holy Mass, let us be sensitive to the words of St. Paul, the Apostle of Nations. He said, "But now, in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off, have become near by the Blood of Christ. He came and preached peace to you who were far off, and peace to you who are near."

Pilgrims come to Medjugorje from far away regions, from approximately 80 countries of the world. The distance, the remoteness, represents the space measured by the kilometers we have passed. In order to pass these kilometers, we need to have a firm and decisive motivation as well as the means of transportation that are important to accomplish many journeys.

But the word distance means something else as well. The word distance represents the existential situation of the many who have distanced themselves from God, from Christ, from the Church and from the Light which gives meaning to life, which directs it, and gives it a dignified goal, and is the life worthy of living.

Now we can understand why they Holy Father has sent the Apostolic Visitor to Medjugorje. The pastoral care requires to ensure a stable and continuous accompaniment of the Parish Community of Medjugorje and of the Faithful who come here on pilgrimage.

This mission equally concerns not only those who are far off but also those who are near. The latter with a double meaning. They are near because they have lived in this place and territory for generations. They are near because they are the Parishioners of Medjugorje. They are near also because for 37 years they have witnessed so many events in this region.

In another meaning, near are all those who live an ardent and warm faith, and who desire to live in an intimate and grateful contact with the Risen and Merciful Lord.

Let us now ask the fundamental question. Why do so many people come to Medjugorje every year?

The clear answer is this: They come to meet someone. To meet God. To meet Christ. To meet His Mother. And then to discover the path that leads to the joy of living in the house of the Father and the Mother. And ultimately to discover the Marian Way as the safest one. This is the path of the Marian Devotion that has been taking place here for years. That is the Sacred Worship in which the culmination of Wisdom and the Summit of Faith come together, and which is therefore the primary task of God's people.

Indeed this is a Christ-centered worship, because it takes its origin and effectiveness from Christ, finds its complete expression in Christ, and leads through Christ and the Spirit to the Father. As the Holy Father, Pope Paul VI, said,

The Second Vatican Council strongly emphasizes that the various forms of devotion towards the Mother of God that the Church has approved, within the limits of wholesome and orthodox doctrine have developed in harmonious subordination to the worship of Christ and have gravitated towards this worship as to their natural and necessary point of reference.

Besides this, it is useful to return to them, in order to remove doubts and especially to help the development of that devotion of the Blessed Virgin which in the Church is motivated by the Word of God, and practiced in the Spirit of Christ, as Paul the VI said in his "Marialis Cultus".

This is what the devotion of the people in Medjugorje looks like. In the center is the Holy Mass, Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and all of this followed by other forms of devotion, the Rosary and the Way of the Cross., which have turned what in the beginning used to be the sharp stones, turning them into a smooth path.

Pilgrims take time off and dedicate their time to be able to sojourn in Medjugorje. In this regard, Pope John Paul II said, "Just as time can be marked by [ ] by special moments of grace, space too may by analogy bear the [ ] or particular saving actions of God. Moreover, this is an intuition present in all religions which not only have sacred times but also sacred spaces where they encounter where the Divine may be also experienced more intensely than it would be normally in the vastness of the cosmos.

Medjugorje gives us both, the time and the space of God's grace, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God and the Mother of the Church, whom here we honor as the Queen of Peace. This title is well known from the Litany of Loreto.

It is true, the world is in great need of peace, peace in one's own heart, peace in the family, peace in society and international peace. Peace is desired by everybody, especially by the people of this country who suffered so much in the recent Balkan War.

To promote peace means to build a civilization based on love, on communion, on fraternity, on justice, and therefore on peace and freedom. May the Gospa, the Mother of the Prince of Peace who was proclaimed by the prophets, be our Protectress, our Queen and our Mother. Amen

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: July 23, 2018 Reflection - The Apostolic Visitor, Archbishop Henryk Hoser

Archbishop Henryk Hoser, Apostolic Visitor to the Parish of Medjugorje

July 23, 2018
St. Bridget

Dear Family of Mary!

Yesterday the Parish of Medjugorje welcomed the Papal Visitor, Archbishop Henryk Hoser at a special Sunday Evening Mass! It was a moment to behold. The Archbishop was accompanied by the Apostolic Nuncio to Bosnia-Hercegovina, Archbishop Luigi Pezzuto, who read a letter from our Holy Father, Pope Francis, commissioning Archbishop Hoser as Apostolic Visitor to the Parish of Medjugorje. Here is a transcription of the letter as read by Archbishop Pezzuto:

Our venerable brother, Mons. Henryk Hoser, the Archbishop, Bishop Emeritus of Warsaw - Prague! As the continuation of the task of the Special Envoy of the Holy See for the Parish of Medjugorje, which you recently accomplished, and in the desire to express the particular pastoral care that this reality requires, I appoint Your Excellency as Apostolic Visitor, with the special role for the Parish of Medjugorje for an indefinite period, ad nutum sanctae sedis, with the authority, obligations, and in accordance with the modalities specified and the mandate attached to this document.
Convinced that you will know how to efficiently carry out the entrusted task in the spirit of positive cooperation with all the interested parties, I assure you of my prayers and with my heart I impart to you the Apostolic Blessing. Vatican, May 31, 2018, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Signed - Pope Francis.
We all feel such joy at the installation of Archbishop Hoser in Medjugorje as the Apostolic Visitor. It now seems that Medjugorje has a home in the Church, a bit of protection and guidance for the days ahead. The Parish has carried a heavy load, providing a place for pilgrimage and the sacraments for the millions of pilgrims who have visited there. Now they will have the support of the Archbishop, with pastoral guidance and wisdom. He will also provide communication between Medjugorje and Rome.

The sunset during the Evening Mass in Medjugorje, July 22, 2018 - Peace

We can all pray for Archbishop Hoser, as he assumes his role as Visitor. He truly has the heart of Our Lady. Thank you Jesus, for providing this wonderful protector and guide for all of us!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

PS. Here is a news release from Vatican News Service about Archbishop Hoser's new role in Medjugorje:

Pope's envoy to Medjugorje begins his ministry

Archbishop Henryk Hoser, appointed by Pope Francis as Apostolic Visitor to St James Parish in Medjugorje, begins his assignment on Sunday.

By Sr Bernadette Mary Reis, fsp

Archbishop Henryk Hoser, retired Archbishop of Warsaw-Prague in Poland, begins his mandate on Sunday as Apostolic Visitor to St James Parish in Medjugorje. He will inaugurate his ministry with solemn Mass in the evening [July 22, 2018] and has invited all of the faithful and pilgrims present to participate.

First mandate

Archbishop Hoser was first appointed by Pope Francis as a special envoy from the Holy See to St James Parish on 11 February 2017. At that time the Holy See's Press Office stated that the mission entrusted to the then Archbishop of Warsaw-Prague "has the aim of acquiring a deeper knowledge of the pastoral situation there and above all, of the needs of the faithful who go there in pilgrimage, and on the basis of this, to suggest possible pastoral initiatives for the future. The mission will therefore have an exclusively pastoral character." The statement said that his mandate was expected to conclude by the end of summer 2017.

The same day the Press Office released this statement, Director Greg Burke underlined that "the mission of the Special Envoy is a sign of the Holy Father's attention toward the pilgrims. The scope is not inquisitorial, but strictly pastoral. The Envoy will not enter into questions regarding the Marian apparitions, which are the competence of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. He will be in contact with the diocesan bishop, the Franciscan Friars Minor - to whom the parish of Medjugorje is entrusted - and with the faithful of the area." And he concluded, "It is a mission for the pilgrims, not against anyone".

Second mandate

Pope Francis nominated Archbishop Hoser a second time "as special apostolic visitor for the parish of Medjugorje" on 31 May 2018. According to the statement released by the Holy See's Press Office, the mandate will last for "an undefined period and ad nutum Sanctae" (at the Holy See's disposition).

Once again, Archbishop Hoser will exercise "an exclusively pastoral office" in continuity with his first mandate which came to an end recently.  The Holy See's Press Office explains, "the mission of the Apostolic Visitor has the aim of ensuring a stable and continuous accompaniment to the parish community of Medjugorje and to the faithful who go there as pilgrims, and whose needs require particular attention."

Mary TV: July 20, 2018 Reflection - Have more trust in God.

(c)Mary TV 2014

July 20, 2018
St. Apollinaris, Bishop and Martyr

Dear Family of Mary!

May 25, 2018 "Dear children! In this peaceless time, I am calling you to have more trust in God who is your Father in Heaven and who has sent me to lead you to Him. You, open your hearts to the gifts which He desires to give you and, in the silence of your heart, Adore my Son Jesus who has given His life so that you may live in eternity - where He desires to lead you. May your hope be the joy of a meeting with the Most High in everyday life. Therefore, I am calling you: do not neglect prayer because prayer works miracles. Thank you for having responded to my call."

(This message can be a good outline for meditation. I have presented it in segments, so that we can take time and let our prayer reveal to us the words of life that Our Lady has given us.)

"Dear children!
(Do I understand how very much Our Lady is my mother? I am her child. How can I live more in the understanding of Mary as my mother?)

In this peaceless time,
(These days are peaceless. How do I experience the peacelessness of this time? Is it through the news? Is it in my family? Is it in my community or parish? Help me, Lord to understand this lack of peace.)

I am calling you to have more trust in God
(Help me to look at my life and discover where I am not trusting God. What things do I still hold on to as my own affairs? How can I give everything in my life to God?)

who is your Father in Heaven
(Even as I comprehend Mary as my mother, I must understand that God, the Father, is my father. He loves me as His child. I can ask Him anything. He wants me to talk to Him about everything in my life. Teach me to converse with you, Father in Heaven.)

and who has sent me to lead you to Him.
(Do I realize that Our Lady is here in Medjugorje, and that she has been sent by the Father. She has come to lead us all to Him. She has been sent on a rescue mission. We need to be rescued.)

You, open your hearts to the gifts which He desires to give you
(Opening myself to God's action in my life is not easy. What holds me back from opening up to the Father? Fear? Laziness? Distractions? Lack of love? What keeps me from wanting His gifts?)

and, in the silence of your heart, adore my Son Jesus
(Oh Jesus, I adore You............)

who has given His life so that you may live in eternity -
(Oh Jesus, I love you....)

where He desires to lead you.
(Oh Jesus, I long to be with you in eternity.... Lead me....)

May your hope be the joy of a meeting with the Most High in everyday life.
(Everyday life can be so dull, so sad, so hard. Without You, Lord, there is nothing really that matters. But when you break into my day, showing me that you are near, that you are with me, it is as if the lights go on! Please, meet me every day in the everyday of my life!)

Therefore, I am calling you: do not neglect prayer
(Neglect. It is a very sad word. We can neglect our garden, so that everything dies. We can neglect our friends so that they stop loving us. We can neglect our studies so that we fail. But if we neglect prayer, we are neglecting ourselves, because it is in prayer that we meet our God, who loves us and can save us. May we not be sad due to our neglect of you, Jesus.)

because prayer works miracles.
(Prayer works miracles. It really does... Have we seen miracles?)

Thank you for having responded to my call."
(Thank you Mother for calling us....)

Mary TV: July 19, 2018 Reflection - Jesus will give you rest...

(c)Mary TV 2014

July 19, 2018
Dear Family of Mary!

Today's Gospel is one of my favorites. Jesus invites us to come to Him, to place our tired souls in His care, and to rest in Him. He will solve our problems, sort out the tangles in our lives and show us the way to peace:

Jesus said: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light." (Mt 11:28-30)

Our Lady has often called us to rest as well. She calls us to rest in her Son. She also sees how tired and weary we are, and she knows the way to rest and peace. It is to do as Jesus asks us to do, to come to Him. Here are five messages that speak about rest for our souls. Maybe we can use them in our rosary today:

July 25, 2001 "Dear children! In this time of grace, I call you to come even closer to God through your personal prayer. Make good use of the time of rest and give your soul and your eyes rest in God. Find peace in nature and you will discover God the Creator Whom you will be able to give thanks to for all creatures; then you will find joy in your heart. Thank you for having responded to my call."

July 25, 2008 "Dear children! At this time when you are thinking of physical rest, I call you to conversion. Pray and work so that your heart yearns for God the Creator who is the true rest of your soul and your body. May He reveal His face to you and may He give you His peace. I am with you and intercede before God for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call."

July 25, 2011 "Dear children! May this time be for you a time of prayer and silence. Rest your body and spirit, may they be in God's love. Permit me, little children, to lead you, open your hearts to the Holy Spirit so that all the good that is in you may blossom and bear fruit one hundred fold. Begin and end the day with prayer with the heart. Thank you for having responded to my call."

June 02, 2013 "Dear children, in this restless time, anew I am calling you to set out after my Son - to follow Him. I know of the pain, suffering and difficulties, but in my Son you will find rest; in Him you will find peace and salvation. My children, do not forget that my Son redeemed you by His Cross and enabled you, anew, to be children of God; to be able to, anew, call the Heavenly Father: "Father". To be worthy of the Father, love and forgive, because your Father is love and forgiveness. Pray and fast, because that is the way to your purification, it is the way of coming to know and becoming cognizant of the Heavenly Father. When you become cognizant of the Father, you will comprehend that He is all you need. I, as a mother, desire my children to be in a community of one single people where the Word of God is listened to and carried out. * Therefore, my children, set out after my Son. Be one with Him. Be God's children. Love your shepherds as my Son loved them when He called them to serve you. Thank you."
*Our Lady said this resolutely and with emphasis.

March 02, 2014 "Dear children, I am coming to you as a mother and I desire that in me, as in a mother, you may find your abode, consolation and rest. Therefore, my children, apostles of my love, pray. Pray with humble devotion, obedience and complete trust in the Heavenly Father. Trust as I have trusted when it was said to me that I will bring the blessing of the promise. May out of your hearts, from your lips, always come forth 'May your will be done!' Therefore, trust and pray so that I can intercede for you before the Lord, for him to give you the Heavenly Blessing and fill you with the Holy Spirit. Then he will be able to help all those who do not know the Lord - you, apostles of my love, will help them to call him 'Father' with complete trust. Pray for your shepherds and place your trust in their blessed hands. Thank you."

Mary TV: July 18, 2018 Reflection - Make yourselves little...

  Youth Festival
(c)Mary TV 2014

July 18, 2018
St. Camillus de Lellis

Dear Family of Mary!

Our Gospel for today is very short. It is also very simple. Jesus erupts in a moment of pure joy and praise for His Father. He declares before His disciples something that bubbles up from deep within:

At that time Jesus declared, "I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will. All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." (Mt 11:25-27)
Jesus is clearly a child! He exalts in His Father's wisdom and understanding. He delights in the fact that His Father chooses to reveal Himself to babes!! Jesus, being the Child of His Father understands! Only the little ones can understand the Father and behold the revelation of the Son. Only those who are little will get it!
And so we see that it is very important that we be children as well. Unless we are childlike, actually real children, we will not recognize the revelation of the Son in our day. Our Lady has come to help us become children so that we will get it! That is why she calls us in EVERY MESSAGE, "Dear Children!" She has called us her children since 1981 and we are used to it now. We expect this greeting in each message. It is familiar. We identify with it. We want to be greeted in this way by our Mother. Why? Because it is healing to be called her children. It gives us peace to be her children. We can rest in that understanding of ourselves. We gain peace, in her loving motherly embrace. We feel wanted and chosen when we hear her say it.

And we are chosen.

In the May 2, 2018 message Our Lady spoke to us about our call as her children. In particular, she told us that we must make ourselves little. What does she mean by this? I think she means that we must be her children, little children, tiny children, dependent children. In that way we will be made available to the Father and to Jesus, as They build the Kingdom of Love. (Notice how many times she calls us her children in this message!):

May 02, 2018 "Dear children, all that my Son, who is the light of love, has done and does, He has done out of love. Also you, my children, when you live in love and love your neighbors, you are doing the will of my Son. Apostles of my love, make yourselves little; open your pure hearts to my Son so that He can work through you. With the help of faith, be filled with love. But, my children, do not forget that the Eucharist is the heart of faith. This is my Son who feeds you with His Body and strengthens you with His Blood. This is a miracle of love: my Son who always comes anew, alive, to bring life back to souls. My children, by living in love you are doing the will of my Son and He lives in you. My children, my motherly desire is for you to always love Him more, because He is calling you with His love. He is giving you love so that you may spread it to all those around you. As a mother, through His love, I am with you to speak the words of love and hope to you - to speak to you the eternal words that are victorious over time and death - so as to call you to be my apostles of love. Thank you."

"Apostles of my love, make yourselves little; open your pure hearts to my Son so that He can work through you. With the help of faith, be filled with love."

Jesus said that His Father revealed the truth to babes. It was the will of the Father to work through the little ones. Jesus now needs us to make ourselves small, really to become children, so that He can work through us. It is to the merest babes that the kingdom has been revealed. That is why Our Mother is with us. Babes need mothers. And so she has come.

May we be babes now, the dearest of children to such a dear Mother. May we love Jesus with simple and pure hearts, and love our neighbors with His love. This is the Kingdom come!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: July 17, 2018 Reflection - Love the Lord with all your heart...

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2016

July 17, 2018

Dear Family of Mary!
"And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself." (Luke 10:27)

These are the words of a lawyer who asked Jesus what he should do to inherit eternal life. Jesus told him that he was right and if he did this he would live. How many times have we heard these same words, but have not comprehended them? How difficult it is for us to do anything with our whole heart, our entire soul, all our strength and all our mind (will). And yet, Jesus calls us to love Him first and entirely.
Our Lady gave a beautiful message in which she encouraged us to this wholehearted love:

November 02, 2016 "Dear children, to come to you and to make myself known to you is a great joy for my motherly heart. It is a gift from my Son for you and for others who are coming.

As a mother I am calling you: love my Son above everything. In order to love Him with all your heart, you need to come to know Him. You will come to know Him through prayer. Pray with the heart and with your feelings. To pray means to think of His love and sacrifice. To pray means to love, to give, to suffer and to offer. I am calling you, my children, to be apostles of prayer and love.

My children, it is a time of vigilance. In this vigil I am calling you to prayer, love and trust. As my Son will be looking in your hearts, my motherly heart desires for Him to see unconditional trust and love in them. The united love of my apostles will live, will conquer and will expose evil.

My children, I was a chalice of the God-man; I was God's instrument. That is why I am calling you, my apostles, to be a chalice of the true and pure love of my Son. I am calling you to be an instrument through which all those who have not come to know the love of God - who have never loved - may comprehend, accept and be saved. Thank you, my children."

Our Lady tells us to love her Son above everything, to love Him with all our heart. And she explains how we can do it. Through coming to know Him. And we come to know Him through prayer with the heart, with our feelings, while thinking of His love for us. We have to spend time with Jesus, lots of time. We have to grow in our understanding of His life, and how He loved us to the end. We need to contemplate the mysteries of His Passion and Death. We need to live the Liturgical Year with the prayers of the Church and become filled with the life of Jesus.

Then we will be able to love Him more and more. And that is when we will become apostles of His love. That is when we will change the world. That is when we will be chalices of the God-man, holding the Eucharistic Jesus in our hearts like living tabernacles. We will contemplate our loving Lord and love Him back.

So let's not allow these words from the lawyer to bounce off of us like water on a rock. "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself." Amen, may it be so!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: July 16, 2018 Reflection - Become a Sign!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2016

July 16, 2018
Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Dear Family of Mary!

Our Lady has often asked us to be a sign for others. She wants us to become apostles of her love. Her heart goes out to all those who do not know her Son, those who do not know the love of God. Here are five messages that Our Lady has given us over the years in which she asks us to become signs for others of the love of God. We might use these messages as meditations between the decades today. Enjoy:
January 25, 2007 "Dear children! Put Sacred Scripture in a visible place in your family and read it. In this way, you will come to know prayer with the heart and your thoughts will be on God. Do not forget that you are passing like a flower in a field, which is visible from afar but disappears in a moment. Little children, leave a sign of goodness and love wherever you pass and God will bless you with an abundance of His blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call."

August 25, 2009 "Dear children! Today I call you anew to conversion. Little children, you are not holy enough and you do not radiate holiness to others, therefore pray, pray, pray and work on your personal conversion, so that you may be a sign of God's love to others. I am with you and am leading you towards eternity, for which every heart must yearn. Thank you for having responded to my call."

February 25, 2011 "Dear children! Nature is awakening and on the trees the first buds are seen which will bring most beautiful flowers and fruit. I desire that you also, little children, work on your conversion and that you be those who witness with their life, so that your example may be a sign and an incentive for conversion to others. I am with you and before my Son Jesus I intercede for your conversion. Thank you for having responded to my call."

August 25, 2013 "Dear children! Also today, the Most High is giving me the grace to be with you and to lead you towards conversion. Every day I am sowing and am calling you to conversion, that you may be prayer, peace, love - the grain that by dying will give birth a hundredfold. I do not desire for you, dear children, to have to repent for everything that you could have done but did not want to. Therefore, little children, again, with enthusiasm say: 'I want to be a sign to others.' Thank you for having responded to my call." September 25, 2015 "Dear children! Also today I am praying to the Holy Spirit to fill your hearts with a strong faith. Prayer and faith will fill your heart with love and joy and you will be a sign for those who are far from God. Little children, encourage each other to prayer with the heart, so that prayer may fulfill your life; and each day, you, little children, will be, above all, witnesses of serving God in adoration and of your neighbor in need. I am with you and intercede for all of you. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Mary TV: July 13, 2018 Reflection - The truth and true life

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2016

July 13, 2018
Saint Henry

Dear Family of Mary!
"...My children, do not lose the truth and true life so as to follow the false one.By life in truth, the Kingdom of Heaven enters into your hearts, and that is the Kingdom of peace, love and harmony. Then, my children, there will not be the selfishness which distances you from my Son. There will be love and understanding for your neighbors. Because, remember, again I repeat to you, to pray also means to love others, your neighbors, and to give yourself to them. Love and give in my Son, and then He will work in you and for you. My children, ceaselessly think of my Son and love Him immeasurably and you will have true life, and that will be for eternity. Thank you, apostles of my love." (July 2, 2018)

Our Lady speaks of the truth and the true life. The truth is Jesus, who is the revelation of the Father. And true life is to live the way Jesus lived. All the virtues are designed to help us live the true life. They move us to love one another as we have been loved by God.

To live the true life, we must become like Jesus, live with Him, get to know Him, follow Him, contemplate His words, think about Him...become connatural with Him. We must develop the sensus fidei, the sense of faith. We must be able to feel the truth!

And so Our Lady says; "My children, ceaselessly think of my Son and love Him immeasurably and you will have true life, and that will be for eternity."

If we ceaselessly think of Jesus and love Him immeasurably we will be able to intuit His every wish and desire, we will be able to understand what Jesus would do, through holy empathy. This will be how the truth takes over in our lives.

Our Lady is calling us to a very important mission. We are to become those who comprehend - even if sometimes we do not understand the words- and within ourselves feel what the truth is! In our pure and simple hearts, we will become real apostles of love!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: July 12, 2018 Reflection - Within yourselves you feel what the truth is...

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

July 12, 2018
Dear Family of Mary!

"...You, with pure and simple souls comprehend-even if sometimes you do not understand the words-and within yourselves you feel what the truth is..." (July 2, 2018)

What does Our Lady mean - "and within yourselves you feel what the truth is..."? I was puzzled at first by her words. How do we feel what the truth is? But then I remembered a phrase that was used by St. John Paul II, and by Vatican II, etc. It is "sensus fidei". It means the "sense of the faith", and describes exactly what Our Lady was talking about.

Our Lady said that it is the pure and simple souls who can feel what the truth is. These souls simply and purely love Jesus and listen to His words in Scripture with the heart. They pray with the heart. And so they understand Jesus with the heart. This heart understanding gives them the sense of the faith, the understanding of the truth that comes from knowing Jesus.

There is a document that describes the sensus fidei. It was written by the International Theological Commission, and is called "Sensus Fidei in the Life of the Church." It was written in 2014. I want to quote part of the introduction. I think it helps to make clear what Our Lady is talking about:

The sensus fidei as an instinct of faith

49. The sensus fidei fidelis is a sort of spiritual instinct that enables the believer to judge spontaneously whether a particular teaching or practice is or is not in conformity with the Gospel and with apostolic faith. It is intrinsically linked to the virtue of faith itself; it flows from, and is a property of, faith. It is compared to an instinct because it is not primarily the result of rational deliberation, but is rather a form of spontaneous and natural knowledge, a sort of perception (aisthesis).

50. The sensus fidei fidelis arises, first and foremost, from the connaturality that the virtue of faith establishes between the believing subject and the authentic object of faith, namely the truth of God revealed in Christ Jesus. Generally speaking, connaturality refers to a situation in which an entity A has a relationship with another entity B so intimate that A shares in the natural dispositions of B as if they were its own. Connaturality permits a particular and profound form of knowledge. For example, to the extent that one friend is united to another, he or she becomes capable of judging spontaneously what suits the other because he or she shares the very inclinations of the other and so understands by connaturality what is good or bad for the other. This is a knowledge, in other words, of a different order than objective knowledge, which proceeds by way of conceptualisation and reasoning. It is a knowledge by empathy, or a knowledge of the heart.

We see that the sensus fidei is more of a feeling or perception than it is a rational deliberation. Exactly what Our Lady meant when she said: "even if sometimes you do not understand the words..." This sense of the faithful comes rather from some other kind of knowing than intellectual discovery. It is not through verbal discourse but through a language of the heart that the simple and pure come to the truth. Why? Because through prayer and the simple reading of Scripture, they come to know Jesus as one would know his best friend. They know how Jesus thinks, what He finds important, what pleases Him. And in that knowing they come to know everything good, because Jesus is all goodness, all truth. They know Him, and so they can just intuit or feel what Jesus would do or say in a situation.

This is what the document expresses as "connaturality". It is the knowledge that comes from being with and loving someone so much that you just know their inclinations and desires as you do your own. You just know them. And when it is Jesus we know, then we have a deep sense of what is true, because Jesus is Truth.

I love this whole idea. No wonder Our Lady has urged us to pray, pray, pray. No wonder she has called us to Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder she has counseled us to read Holy Scripture. These are the ways that we come into a deep relationship with her Son. And once we have come to know him intimately, we will feel the truth.

This poor, confused world we live in needs to encounter the Truth now more than ever. If we follow Our Lady, we will become living signs of the Truth through our deep relationship with He who is the Truth. It is a gift we can give to others.
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: July 11, 2018 - Update from Denis - We're getting ready!

Our Tower at Mary TV's station in Texas!

July 11, 2018

Dear Mary TV team:

The tower at Mary TV's station just went up 50 feet - at no cost to Mary TV!   It's now 90 feet tall!  I can't wait to tell you what's happened!

When Providence brought Fiber Optics to Mary TV's studios in Medjugorje Tom Matasso couldn't believe it.  Mary TV had been at the mercy of that one little cell tower on the mountain - everyone with a phone in Medjugorje was at its mercy.  I remember telling you that when he heard of the Fiber Optics being laid to our station in Medjugorje, Tom was so excited he could hardly contain himself!

But we still had a problem.  From Medjugorje our team streams to Mary TV's station in rural Texas - and it's from Texas that our Medjugorje programming goes out to the world.  The problem is that the only internet available in our remote location in Texas is a satellite dish.  From that station in Texas Mary TV's Medjugorje internet TV channel broadcasts 24/7.  And we're streaming HD, broadcast quality!

Now I'm the one who can hardly contain himself!

Just last month a company in Texas decided to start laying Fiber Optics underground to Mary TV's station in Texas, a distance of over 30 miles, at their own expense!  And they're giving Fiber Optics to Mary TV for free - in exchange for being allowed to put an Omni transmitter on Mary TV's tower, which they just raised 50 feet (again, at no cost to Mary TV)!   Its height is now 90 feet (see photo at top)!

Fiber Optics is the best connection in the world!

I believe Our Lady is able to pull off these miracles because of your faith - the faith and prayers of Mary TV's shipmates!  Tom always said you are the most important part of the team!

...Mary TV is becoming a more and more trusted news source.  The Papal Envoy's April 5, 2017 Press Conference in Medjugorje didn't escape notice by the world's media (who weren't present) because it was streamed Live by Mary TV!  Also, when the President of Croatia, (who has been in the news recently because of Croatia's Soccer team advancing in the World Cup) came to Medjugorje during the Summer of 2016, all requests by news media for interviews were turned down, except for one: the president said she was happy to give an interview to Mary TV! (see Tea with Rosie # 173).

...We're installing a "Continuous Solar Power System" in Medjugorje ....so we can stream Live from anywhere at any time direct to the Fiber Optics in our studio....

...We've also just set up a new radio internet connection system in Medjugorje that will allow us to do the same - connect to our Fiber Optics - from anywhere in the village....

.... We're beginning to install a Search Function on the web page, so programs and topics can easily be located (it will take a little time to log the thousands of hours of programming Mary TV has archived) ...

...Today the web page was moved to a new, more powerful cluster of servers.  Just wait and see! We expect everything to be fine-tuned in time for the Youth Festival!

...Today a company from Zagreb started fixing the leak in the basement of our facility in Medjugorje.... constructed for Mary TV's main studios, engineering rooms, control rooms, etc.....  I'm told the job will take two weeks (so keep praying) ....  We've been waiting 15 years to start using these facilities!!!!

And it's coming just in time!

Satanists, occultists and witches are gathering during solar eclipses and waning crescent moons to cast spells, curses and incantations to protect the sacrament to Satan, abortion.  July 27, 28, 2018 will see the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st
Century.

Our Lady tells us that it's by keeping our gaze and hearts always directed towards heaven and eternity that we will be open to God and to His plans - we will be helping facilitate them.

Mary TV is an important help to Our Lady's family right now...a daily portal for Our Lady's children around the world to keep their gaze and heart directed towards Heaven and eternity by staying connected to Medjugorje!  "My Son promised me that evil will never win, because you, the souls of the just, are here!"

Thank you for your continued financial support.  It's because of your generosity that we're able to continue...  Monthly donations are down.... Yes, your help is needed.  (You can become a monthly donor on line at www.MarytV.tv )  We thank the Lord for you!

Make your donations on line here!

"Dear children! This is the day that the Lord gave me to give Him thanks for each of you...Rejoice, little children, because God is merciful and loves you all with His immeasurable love and leads you to the way of salvation through my coming here."  Our Mother's June 25, 2018 message, the 37th Anniversary of her apparitions in Medjugorje!

Thank you and God bless you,

Mary TV: July 11, 2018 Reflection - You are given the freedom to choose...P.5

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

July 11, 2018
St. Benedict

Dear Family of Mary!

"...My children, you are given the freedom to choose, but, as a mother, I implore you to choose the freedom for the good..." (July 2, 2018)

Our final virtue, and the most important of all is Charity (love)! As you can tell from the Catechism, love is the essence of God and our goal in life. All our actions must be motivated by and imbued with love. Because love is God and God is love.
Charity
1822 Charity is the theological virtue by which we love God above all things for his own sake, and our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God.
1823 Jesus makes charity the new commandment. (Jn 13:34) By loving his own "to the end," (Jn 13:1) he makes manifest the Father's love which he receives. By loving one another, the disciples imitate the love of Jesus which they themselves receive. Whence Jesus says: "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love." and again: "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." (Jn 15:9)

1824 Fruit of the Spirit and fullness of the Law, charity keeps the commandments of God and his Christ: "Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love." (Jn 15:9-10)

1825 Christ died out of love for us, while we were still "enemies." (Rom 5:10) The Lord asks us to love as he does, even our enemies, to make ourselves the neighbor of those farthest away, and to love children and the poor as Christ himself. (Mt 5:44)

The Apostle Paul has given an incomparable depiction of charity: "charity is patient and kind, charity is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Charity does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Charity bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." (1 Cor 13:4-7)

1826 "If I . . . have not charity," says the Apostle, "I am nothing." Whatever my privilege, service, or even virtue, "if I . . . have not charity, I gain nothing." (1 Cor 13:1-). Charity is superior to all the virtues. It is the first of the theological virtues: "So faith, hope, charity abide, these three. But the greatest of these is charity." (1 Cor 13:13)

1827 The practice of all the virtues is animated and inspired by charity, which "binds everything together in perfect harmony"; (1 Cor 13:13) it is the form of the virtues; it articulates and orders them among themselves; it is the source and the goal of their Christian practice. Charity upholds and purifies our human ability to love, and raises it to the supernatural perfection of divine love.
1828 The practice of the moral life animated by charity gives to the Christian the spiritual freedom of the children of God. He no longer stands before God as a slave, in servile fear, or as a mercenary looking for wages, but as a son responding to the love of him who "first loved us": (Col 3:14)
If we turn away from evil out of fear of punishment, we are in the position of slaves. If we pursue the enticement of wages, . . . we resemble mercenaries. Finally if we obey for the sake of the good itself and out of love for him who commands . . . we are in the position of children. (Jn 4:19)
1829 The fruits of charity are joy, peace, and mercy; charity demands beneficence and fraternal correction; it is benevolence; it fosters reciprocity and remains disinterested and generous; it is friendship and communion: Love is itself the fulfillment of all our works. There is the goal; that is why we run: we run toward it, and once we reach it, in it we shall find rest.

Our Lady calls us to love in this message:

"Dear children! Today I call you to love with all your heart and with all your soul. Pray for the gift of love, because when the soul loves it calls my Son to itself. My Son does not refuse those who call Him and who desire to live according to Him. Pray for those who do not comprehend love, who do not understand what it means to love. Pray that God may be their Father and not their Judge. My children, you be my apostles, be my river of love. I need you. Thank you." (March 18, 2010)

"Be my river of love." Oh how much we want to respond to this call from Our Lady. May we become rivers of love, rivers of hope, and rivers of faith. May we become true Apostles of Our Lady!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
