Mary TV: May 31, 2023 Reflection - The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Visitation - Albertini

My Soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord!

May 31, 2023
The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Dear Family of Mary!

Today we celebrate the Second Joyful Mystery of the Rosary, that blessed day when Our Lady traveled to the Hill Country to visit her kinswoman, Elizabeth! The Angel Gabriel had told Mary that Elizabeth had conceived in her old age, and that she was in the sixth month. "For nothing is impossible for God!" This great news was a confirmation for Mary of her own call to be the Mother of Jesus. These two courageous women met and the Holy Spirit fell upon them in power and great joy!! Little St. John the Baptist was also anointed with the Holy Spirit and leaped for joy!!

We should bask in the joy of this event, and let the Holy Spirit fall upon us as well! Read these anointed words from the Luke's Gospel, and receive the Holy Spirit!

Luke 1:39-56

Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said,

“Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”

And Mary said:

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;/ my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,/ for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant./ From this day all generations will call me blessed:/ the Almighty has done great things for me,/ and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him/ in every generation./ He has shown the strength of his arm,/ he has scattered the proud in their conceit./ He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,/ and has lifted up the lowly./ He has filled the hungry with good things,/ and the rich he has sent away empty./ He has come to the help of his servant Israel/ for he has remembered his promise of mercy,/ the promise he made to our fathers,/ to Abraham and his children for ever.”

Mary remained with her about three months and then returned to her home.

Come Holy Spirit!!!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: May 30, 2023 Reflection - The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church

I am calling you to go into nature...

May 30, 2023

Dear Family of Mary!

“Dear children! I am calling you to go into nature and to pray for the Most High to speak to your heart and that you may feel the power of the Holy Spirit so as to witness the love which God has for every creature. I am with you and intercede for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (May 25, 2023)

Our Lady has often spoken about the importance of going out into nature, of spending time in the natural world that God created for us. We live in a scientific age, and we may think that all the trees and plants and animals evolved randomly. But we believe that God designed all Creation for His own glory and to provide for us. It is really important that we have the right understanding of creation. With that right understanding, we will see God's love everywhere, and place all our trust in Him!!

Here is a chapter from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This is a good way to begin to understand the glory and providence of creation. Nature will speak about God to us!!
(Here is the link to the chapter from the Vatican Website if that is easier for you to read. Also the footnotes will be available: https://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P1A.HTM

II. THE VISIBLE WORLD

337 God himself created the visible world in all its richness, diversity and order. Scripture presents the work of the Creator symbolically as a succession of six days of divine "work", concluded by the "rest" of the seventh day.204 On the subject of creation, the sacred text teaches the truths revealed by God for our salvation,205 permitting us to "recognize the inner nature, the value and the ordering of the whole of creation to the praise of God."206

338 Nothing exists that does not owe its existence to God the Creator. the world began when God's word drew it out of nothingness; all existent beings, all of nature, and all human history are rooted in this primordial event, the very genesis by which the world was constituted and time begun.207

339 Each creature possesses its own particular goodness and perfection. For each one of the works of the "six days" it is said: "and God saw that it was good." "By the very nature of creation, material being is endowed with its own stability, truth and excellence, its own order and laws."208 Each of the various creatures, willed in its own being, reflects in its own way a ray of God's infinite wisdom and goodness. Man must therefore respect the particular goodness of every creature, to avoid any disordered use of things which would be in contempt of the Creator and would bring disastrous consequences for human beings and their environment.

340 God wills the interdependence of creatures. the sun and the moon, the cedar and the little flower, the eagle and the sparrow: the spectacle of their countless diversities and inequalities tells us that no creature is self-sufficient. Creatures exist only in dependence on each other, to complete each other, in the service of each other.

341 The beauty of the universe: the order and harmony of the created world results from the diversity of beings and from the relationships which exist among them. Man discovers them progressively as the laws of nature. They call forth the admiration of scholars. the beauty of creation reflects the infinite beauty of the Creator and ought to inspire the respect and submission of man's intellect and will.

342 The hierarchy of creatures is expressed by the order of the "six days", from the less perfect to the more perfect. God loves all his creatures209 and takes care of each one, even the sparrow. Nevertheless, Jesus said: "You are of more value than many sparrows", or again: "of how much more value is a man than a sheep!"210

343 Man is the summit of the Creator's work, as the inspired account expresses by clearly distinguishing the creation of man from that of the other creatures.211

344 There is a solidarity among all creatures arising from the fact that all have the same Creator and are all ordered to his glory: May you be praised, O Lord, in all your creatures, especially brother sun, by whom you give us light for the day; he is beautiful, radiating great splendor, and offering us a symbol of you, the Most High. . .

May you be praised, my Lord, for sister water, who is very useful and humble, precious and chaste.
May you be praised, my Lord, for sister earth, our mother, who bears and feeds us, and produces the variety of fruits and dappled flowers and grasses. . .
Praise and bless my Lord, give thanks and serve him in all humility.212

345 The sabbath - the end of the work of the six days. the sacred text says that "on the seventh day God finished his work which he had done", that the "heavens and the earth were finished", and that God "rested" on this day and sanctified and blessed it.213 These inspired words are rich in profitable instruction:

346 In creation God laid a foundation and established laws that remain firm, on which the believer can rely with confidence, for they are the sign and pledge of the unshakeable faithfulness of God's covenant.214 For his part man must remain faithful to this foundation, and respect the laws which the Creator has written into it.

347 Creation was fashioned with a view to the sabbath and therefore for the worship and adoration of God. Worship is inscribed in the order of creation.215 As the rule of St. Benedict says, nothing should take precedence over "the work of God", that is, solemn worship.216 This indicates the right order of human concerns.

348 The sabbath is at the heart of Israel's law. To keep the commandments is to correspond to the wisdom and the will of God as expressed in his work of creation.

349 The eighth day. But for us a new day has dawned: the day of Christ's Resurrection. The seventh day completes the first creation. the eighth day begins the new creation. Thus, the work of creation culminates in the greater work of redemption. the first creation finds its meaning and its summit in the new creation in Christ, the splendor of which surpasses that of the first creation.217

I am calling you to go into nature and to pray for the Most High to speak to your heart and that you may feel the power of the Holy Spirit!!!

Mary TV: May 29, 2023 Reflection - The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church

The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church

May 29, 2023

Dear Family of Mary!

Jesus gave us His Mother as He died on the cross. This final act shows us His total love for us. He brought us into His family by giving us His Mother as our Mother. We can only be in awe at such a gift!!

Here is that moment, that gift, from the Gospel of John:

But standing by the cross of Jesus
were his mother,
and his mother's sister,
Mary the wife of Clopas,
and Mary Mag'dalene.

When Jesus saw his mother,
and the disciple whom he loved
standing near,
he said to his mother,

"Woman, behold, your son!"

Then he said to the disciple,

"Behold, your mother!"

And from that hour
the disciple took her to his own home. (John19: 25-27)

On this feast day we celebrate the gift of Mary as our Mother, as the Mother of the whole church. She spoke to us about her role as Mother of the Church in this message. Let's take in her words today, and let them mold us and bless us!:

June 2, 2016

"Dear children,
as the Mother of the Church,
as your mother,
I am smiling as I look at you:

how you are coming to me,
how you are gathering around me,
how you are seeking me.

My comings among you are proof
of how much Heaven loves you.

They indicate to you the way to eternal life,
to salvation.

My apostles,
you who strive to have a pure heart
and to have my Son in it,
you are on the good way.

You who are seeking my Son
are seeking the good way.

He left many signs of His love.
He left hope.

It is easy to find Him
if you are ready for sacrifice and penance -
if you have patience, mercy and love for your neighbors.

Many of my children do not see and do not hear
because they do not want to.

They do not accept my words and my works,
yet through me, my Son calls everyone.

His Spirit illuminates all of my children
in the light of the Heavenly Father,
in the unity of Heaven and Earth,
in mutual love -
because love invokes love
and makes works more important than words.

Therefore, my apostles,
pray for your Church,
love it
and do works of love.

No matter how betrayed or wounded,
it is here because it comes from the Heavenly Father.

Pray for your shepherds
so that in them you may see
the greatness of the love of my Son.

Thank you."

May we cherish the Catholic Church, our Mother here on earth. No matter the trials we face, Jesus will stand by His Church, and Mary with Him. We are in good hands, as Catholics!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
