Is Islam a Danger to the Religious Freedom of the U.S. and the World?

Today there is a big controversy going on in our country about Islam. This has been going on for a long time but today it is accentuated by the killing of 49 people at Orlando by a lone Islamic terrorist and also the denial by our president that Islam is a religion of violence. The president maintains that Islam is a religion of peace and those who kill and terrorize are acting contrary to the very meaning and nature of what Islam really is. This is an important discussion, but, I believe, there is another discussion that is even more important and that is, “What is the goal of Islam. It is quite obvious from the Koran that the goal of Islam is to conquer the world for Allah. Islam cannot rest until everyone is a Muslim, wither by conversion or by force. And so this is not only a threat to Christianity, but also the constitution and first amendment of the US. – the freedom of religion in our country. It is this goal that gives meaning to the jihadist who are wreaking terror throughout the world. There is a method to their madness, and that is why those who commit these crimes feel so good about what they are doing. The Koran supports this belief:
And fight with them until there is no more Fitna (unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah.
(Koran 8:39)
Muhammed died of a heart attack in 632. He was a little over 60 years old. He taught his followers well about conquering the world by force (Jihad), if necessary for Allah. Within a hundred years, Islam became the controlling religion in all of Asia Minor (what is now Turkey). All of North Africa was taken over by invasion. Muslims also took over Spain and ruled there for 800 years. It wasn’t until the reign of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella in 1492 that the Muslims were overpowered and dismissed from Spain. Islam tried to get into France by going over the Pyrenees but were held back and defeated by the French army.
The Battle of Lepanto
Several times Islam was on the verge of conquering Europe. Right after the council of Trent, Michael Ghislieri, a Dominican, was chosen Pope. He took the name, Pius V, and reigned from 1565-1572. During his reign, the catechism ordered by the council of Trent, was completed and translated into many languages. Pius V saw the great threat of the Islamic Turks who were poised to attack Italy and take over all of Europe, which would bring to an end Christian civilization. Pius V exhorted all European leaders to unite against the Turkish invasion. Only Venice, Genoa, and Spain answered the papal call. Don Juan of Austria, the brilliant illegitimate son of Habsburg Emperor, Charles V, was put in charge of the Christian fleet. In 1571, one of the greatest sea battles in history took place between Christian and Islamic fleets. The battle occurred in the Bay of Lepanto, off the shores of Greece. The Christian forces were outnumbered 3 to 2. During the battle Pius V had all the Catholics in Rome praying the rosary. What looked like a disaster suddenly changed. The winds became favorable to the Christian fleet. The Christian forces killed or captured over 70,000 Turks and took only 7,500 causalities. Over 10,000 Christian slaves were released. Europe was saved.
In the latter part of the 17th Century, Vienna was almost taken and only saved by the Christian army under the command of the king of Poland, a date that is unforgettable for us today, September 11, but this was Sept. 11, 1683. When planning the attack on the Twin Towers in New York, that specific date in September may have been very influential, There are so many dates and battles that could be enumerated here, but perhaps what I have written is enough to show that Jihad has always been part of Islamic thinking and activity. The fact that Non-Moslems and Christians were especially hated, should also be mentioned. From 1915 to 1922, over a million and a half Christian Armenians were systematically put to death in Turkey, a fact that the Turks refuse to admit today. Today Turkey, which was once the cradle of Christianity, is 99% Moslem.
The great English Catholic writer, Hillarie Belloc wrote a book in 1938 in which he said that Islam will rise again. Islam had been quiet since about 1925 when, after the genocide of over a million and half Armenians in Turkey, Turkey was declared a secular state by Ataturk. The reason why Belloc wrote this was because he understood the very nature of Islam as taught in the Koran, that Islam must conquer the world for Allah.
In Islam the notion of God loving all peoples is nonexistent. Yes, he is merciful and compassionate, but only for those who are Muslims since they are the only ones, according to the Muslim belief, are conformed to his will.
According to the Koran, (There are over 100 verses that mention Jihad) violent Jihad is part and parcel of the Islamic religion in order to conquer the world for Allah. It is true that there are many peace loving Muslims. The Jihadists would consider that these peace loving people are not true to their heritage, the very opposite of what our president is preaching. It does no good to pretend otherwise.

3 June 2016 Proved to be a Very Special Day for World Priest Apostolate‏

3 June 2016 Proved to be a Very Special Day for World Priest Apostolate

Contact: Marion Mulhall or James Dirroff, both with World Priest, 646-355-4106,info.worldpriest@gmail.com

NEW YORK, June 30, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- The annual Global Rosary Relay for the sanctification of priests on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on 3 June 2016 circled the world in prayer once again, in this its seventh year, with more shrines than ever taking part in what is now recognised as a truly significant and powerful devotional initiative within the Catholic Church to recognise and bless the work of priests serving the faithful the world over.

The event took on an even greater significance this year when the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization in Rome agreed that the Annual Global Rosary Relay for the sanctification of Priests would close the three-day Jubilee for Priests at 6p.m. in St Peter's Square on 3 June (actually on the steps of St Peter's Basilica) with the president of the council leading the rosary on that day.

Council official Rev. Geno Sylva STD introduced the Rosary Relay for Priests, informing the gathering that the rosary relay was coming to Rome from the designated shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary, Haverstock Hill in London, England, and then continuing on to the next shrine at the Sanctuary of the Holy Family Centre in Trinidad. Archbishop Rino Fisichella, the first President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization marked the Rosary Relay for Priests as an official Vatican event and prayed the first sorrowful mystery. A number of priests from around the world then recited the following mysteries in Latin, introducing each mystery with a short reflection in various languages. At the end of the rosary the archbishop lead the conclusion and blessing, including a prayer for Pope Francis and the singing of the Salve Regina.

For World Priest founder Marion Mulhall 3 June 2016 was a day to be treasured forever. On that day a great blessing and honour was bestowed on her and her apostolate in supporting our priests over many years when she personally met the Holy Father following the Pontifical Mass at the conclusion of the three-day Jubilee for Priests, to which Marion had been invited. Unknown to her it had been arranged for Pope Francis to receive her in St Peter's Square, where he took her hand and embraced her warmly. "I was totally taken by surprise by this recognition and honour," says Marion.

"To me it was a great affirmation and blessing from Our Lady, especially on Rosary Relay Day, and I was overcome with joy by the opportunity to meet the Holy Father in person. I wonder how this meeting will enhance our apostolate in the future? What blessings will be bestowed upon World Priest in the years ahead? I can still hardly believe this has happened and that our apostolate in support of priests has received such supreme recognition and blessing. This day will live with me for the rest of my life, inspiring me to work with even greater enthusiasm and dedication for a vital apostolate, reassuring me that this apostolate is not only purposeful, but that it has been appreciated at the highest level within the Catholic Church."

These Stone Walls: Arise! Prayer can move a mountain

It is very unusual that we send out two posts in one week, but this is a call to action and contemplation by our Missionary of Mercy friend, Father George David Byers, and it moved me to tears. Please read and share: "Father Gordon J MacRae my best friend – The 54 day Rosary begins TODAY."

GORDON MACRAEFather Gordon J MacRae (about) has been writing for his blog TheseStoneWalls from prison for seven years (Seven Years Behind These Stone Walls), something he’s done at the request of Cardinal Avery Dulles. There was no case presented against him in court, and the prosecutors (one who disappeared the next day and one who committed suicide) begged him to take a plea deal (at one point for no time at all), but, since he was innocent and couldn’t live with the lie, he was given a life sentence for crimes that by the reckoning of all never happened. He was wrongly convicted and wrongly imprisoned for now going on 23 years.
The CDF knows that he is innocent but does nothing to prosecute those who scapegoated him. Father Gordon knew too much of the wrong doing of those at the epicenter of the abuse crisis: Bishop John McCormack, Bishop Francis Christian and, now, imprisoned for untold numbers of crimes, Monsignor Edward Arsenault.
The conflicts of interest are many which drive this case, each one of which would make for a blockbuster film. These include the bishops and chancery officials and their various relationships with various members of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, The National Catholic Risk Retention Group, pretty much all the lawyers on whatever “side”, Attorneys General, U.S. Attorneys, Governors, priests who are guilty, the accusers and their dollars.
There has been a wide array of those writing about his case including many times The Wall Street Journal. But, you can read the stunning summary at Seven Years Behind These Stone Walls. At the end of that article, that paradigm reset button, you’ll find this Editor’s note:
Editor’s Note: Long-time TSW reader, Maria Stella, extends this invitation,
“As the next TSW post will probably be June 29, could you please add a note at the end of the post to invite supporters of Fr. MacRae to join in a 54 day rosary novena that will start on June 30, the day the first martyrs of the Holy Roman Church are commemorated? The intention is justice for Fr MacRae and that he be released from prison. Other readers may want to add their particular intentions.”
As it happens, the beginning and ending days in the Novus Ordo and the Extraordinary Form are Feast days that are most fitting:
Novus Ordo:
  • June 30 Feast of the Martyrs of the Church of Rome
  • August 22 Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Extraordinary Form
  • June 30 Commemoration of Saint Paul
  • August 22 Immaculate Heart of Mary
Father Richard Heilman has a great presentation of the provenance of the 54 day Rosary novena, made up of 3 novenas of petition and 3 novenas of thanksgiving:Roman Catholic Man.
Please, do join us. In doing so, you are also helping out true victims, who hate nothing more than the self-congratulation of those who pocket money and prestige based on hysteria over their own actual sufferings. Remember, when people get sick of false accusations, they won’t listen to real ones any more. And the whole thing begins again. No! We must take each case individually, grant due process (which has almost never been done, especially by those who trumpet loudly that it has), and respect justice. Mercy, mind you, is based on justice, and if we throw out justice, you will never see mercy, only fraud. And people suffer.
Meanwhile, Father Gordon is an instrument of grace in his prison pod, “Bravo Pod,” which is reserved for only the worst criminals. Many of them convert. Many of them belong to the Militia of the Immaculata of Saint Maximilian Kolbe. Pray for his strength and holiness. He points more people to heaven than most all priests on the outside of those stone walls.

The Darkness is Deepening in a Land Overshadowed by Abortion by Msgr. Charles Pope

The Darkness is Deepening in a Land Overshadowed by Abortion by Msgr. Charles Pope | Deaconjohn1987's Blog

Léon Cogniet (1794-1880), “The Massacre of the Innocents”
It is hard to argue that the whole world is not in some sort of seismic upheaval, of which the deplorable U.S. Supreme Court decision on Monday is but another sign. Perhaps a few thoughts about the decision but also on the deepening darkness that it reflects.
The pro-abortionists for years have said that they wanted abortion to be “Safe and Legal.” In the wake of horrific stories of abortionists like Kermit Gosnell, Texas and other states passed common sense bills that sought to regulate abortion “clinics” and subject them to the same medical requirements and protocols as any other clinic. Simple norms were proposed such as cleanliness, proper space to get gurneys in and out in the event of an emergency, and that abortion “doctors” have admitting privileges in a nearby hospital.
Opposition to such norms by abortion supporters puts the lie to the “safe” in their “Keep Abortion Safe and Legal” cry.  Abortion for them is the main point, not dangers to a woman’s health or well-being. For all their talk about coat-hangers and what will happen, if abortion is made illegal, it is just that, talk. When given the opportunity to demonstrate their concern for the safety and well-being of women, they tip their hand: abortion comes first, health and safety are a distant second.
We pro-lifers make no pretense that we want to limit abortions. Nevertheless, that does not cancel the legitimate insistence that abortion “clinics” should meet the same requirements as any other medical clinic or hospital where surgical procedures are performed. Not so said the Court, in a decision that reflects a politically divided court more than a group of Justices who apply the law in a way that is above politics. This decision, like too many others today reflect a Court that has been deeply corrupted by the influence of politics and a desire to change the law more than interpret it.
This is a dark day for this country. Those who support unrestricted abortion, no matter how commonsensical the proposed regulating initiatives, were handed another victory. The right to abortion was said by the Court in 1973 to have been found in the penumbra of the Constitution. Penumbra refers to the outer edges of a shadow, and this shadow that has crept into this land of ours is increasingly dark and deep. Yes, this was a dark day in a deepening darkness of the evil of abortion. Though great progress has been made in winning hearts, the legal system seems politically and ideologically locked down, especially at the Federal level.
No amount of medical evidence or knowledge of the glory of fetal development will sway those who have hardened their hearts. Even in the specter of the sales of baby parts by Planned Parenthood will not sway them. Still, many champion dreadful practices like partial birth abortion, Hilary Clinton brashly says unborn children have no rights in our legal system and Planned Parenthood which illegally sells baby parts is uncharged, and the journalists who exposed the evil must face trial instead.
Abortion has deeply corrupted our land and legal system. But is it both a cause and a symptom of a deeper and worldwide evil that seems to have extended its depth and reach. There is a kind of a judgement upon us as we are handed us over to fuller depth of our collective iniquity.
Throughout the globe, terrorism, growing religious and ethnic strife, and moral decline has reached dizzying, rapid rates and seems increasingly irreversible. Moral debasement and sexual confusion in the West seem to know no depth. Justice Robert Bork once wrote of how the West was “slouching toward Gomorrah.” But now our slouch has become a rapid sprint toward the edge of an abyss, and the pace of the decline is shockingly rapid.
Things almost unimaginable sixty years ago are now common and celebrated: The right to kill unborn children, divorce on demand, open and widespread cohabitation, fornication, and the consequent huge increases in sexually transmitted diseases, herpes and AIDs. There is an explosion in single motherhood, absent fatherhood, the open practice of homosexuality and “Gay Pride” parades, same-sex “marriage,” transgenderism featuring “identities” such as bigender, cisgender, gender-nonconforming, genderqueer, intersex, non-binary, pangender…. Add to this a rising secularism, a militant atheism and a growing criminalization of religious beliefs and practices, and an uncertain trumpet in Rome.
Any time traveler from 1950 would conclude that some widespread insanity and delusion had gripped the world and that we have obviously taken leave of our senses.
Yes, our slouch to Gomorrah has gone to warp speed. Even race relations which would seem improved to our time traveler would still appear to be tainted by a kind of obsession that so emphasized every distinction that any sense of common humanity was lost.
I cannot say that I am not very alarmed and concerned at the rapid and deepening darkness about us. I will continue to preach and work for the repentance and salvation of us all and of this once great land. But I must say my prayer is increasingly filled with dismay. The Lord promised that the Church would be indefectible, but that promise does not extend to cultures and civilizations. Greater civilizations than our have disappeared from the face of the Earth.
Yet, still I will work and pray. And for now, these words from the Book of Psalms strike me as pertinent to our times:
Help, O Lord, for good men have vanished;
truth has gone from the sons of men.
Falsehood they speak one to another,
with lying lips, with a false heart.

May the Lord destroy all lying lips,
the tongue that speaks high-sounding words,
those who say: “Our tongue is our strength;
our lips are our own, who is our master?”

“For the poor who are oppressed and the needy who groan
I myself will arise,” says the Lord,
“I will grant them the salvation for which they thirst.”

The words of the Lord are words without alloy,
silver from the furnace, seven times refined.

It is you, O Lord, who will take us in your care
and protect us forever from this generation.
See how the wicked prowl on every side,
while the worthless are prized highly by the sons of men.  (Psalm 12)

Yes, help Lord. Keep for yourself a faithful remnant and give me the courage and strength to be found in that remnant.

On Why God Wants Us Always Smiling or Intending to Do So

As mentioned in the first article in this series on “He and I” from our Lord to Gabrielle Bossis, He always asked her to smile at Him within her and to smile at Him in others.  He constantly reminded her that He was truly within her (with the Father and Holy Spirit) as long as we are in a state of Grace, and even when others drove Him out with mortal sin, as their Creator, there is still a trace of Him which He wants acknowledged by us in everyone whom He has created, since nothing exists without His cooperation.
Our Lord so desires this from us to comfort Him for the billions of people who never think about Him, because they either don’t know Him or don’t care to speak with Him even if they believe in His existence.  He further reminds Gabrielle that everything He does or permits is for our ultimate spiritual good for all eternity, a much greater eternal reward of Love; and therefore in those who are truly striving to please Him, He expects constant joy from us.  And His Great Joy is to see us constantly in union with Him in thought and word, and our joy to know and relish His Presence within us.  This Joy should take the form of a smile as often as we think about Him within us.  This is the sole purpose of His giving us the Gift of “He and I” through Gabrielle, so we can finally come to know and experience, truly experience, in our daily life this Joy that only God can give to those who desire to know and love Him now (as far as one can in this life) as in Heaven, and who seek to give this same Joy back to God.
Our Lord taught Gabrielle as He did St. Therese, the need for Faith and Trust.  He taught her: “Believe in My Love and you will have over and above all you ask or think….The Three Equal Persons are for you, for everyone. Try to think often of Their Presence in you. It is Love.”  Here are just a few examples of the many times He reminded her to smile:
–“Continue Me. Smile in your soul when you look at Me.”
–“Don’t aim at saying an exact number of wordy prayers. Just love me simply: a look of your heart, the tender smile of a friend.”
–“Take the little daily trials with a smile and you will dress My wounds.”
–“Today, I will take every smile of yours for Myself.”
–“Smile at everyone and I will make your smile a blessing.”
–“The joy of having more of Me brings about all other joys.”
–(Do) You understand, if you keep smiling before My face, you will always have a smile for others, and it will warm their hearts.”
–Be full of joy when you are misunderstood or overlooked, because this makes you just like Me.”

Sister Emmanuel's Medjugorje Report for June

From the Desk of Sr. Emmanuel Maillard
Medjugorje, June 21, 2016

Dear Children of Medjugorje, Praised be Jesus and Mary!

1. On June 2, 2016, Mirjana received her monthly apparition at the Blue Cross, in the presence of a fairly large crowd. After the apparition, she shared the following message:

"Dear children! as the Mother of the Church, as your mother, I am smiling as I look at you: how you are coming to me, how you are gathering around me, how you are seeking me. My comings among you are proof of how much Heaven loves you. They indicate to you the way to eternal life, to salvation. My apostles, you who strive to have a pure heart and to have my Son in it, you are on the good way. You who are seeking my Son are seeking the good way. He left many signs of His love. He left hope. It is easy to find Him if you are ready for sacrifice and penance-if you have patience, mercy and love for your neighbors. Many of my children do not see and do not hear because they do not want to. They do not accept my words and my works, yet through me, my Son calls everyone. His Spirit illuminates all of my children in the light of the Heavenly Father, in the unity of Heaven and Earth, in mutual love-because love invokes love and makes works more important than words. Therefore, my apostles, pray for your Church, love it and do works of love. No matter how betrayed or wounded, it is here because it comes from the Heavenly Father. Pray for your shepherds so that in them you may see the greatness of the love of my Son. Thank you."

2. Back from Asia

Please forgive me for the delay in sending this report to you, I have just returned from a long trip to Asia where I visited Mongolia (in the North of China) and Indonesia. Here are a few short stories to share with you. On the first night we stayed in a simple village, yet we were received with so much warmth that tears came to my eyes. These people had nothing, but they gave us a real treat!

In the morning, since there was no running water and not even a bathroom, we took a basin outside to wash ourselves. Even the "toilets" put up in the yard had no door, something common in China, especially in the countryside. And in such precariousness, I was filled with admiration for our host's goodness and deep joy.

We stayed with a local from the village. When we arrived at this mere little house composed of 2 rooms, we looked for beds but there was none. In one of the rooms there was a kind of dais (like a wooden platform) which had underneath it a heating system where coal was burnt in the winter. It turned out it was the dais that would be the bed for the three of us! It was normal for my 2 Chinese assistants but hard for the French woman I am who is used to sleeping on a mattress.

With her modest income, she had stitched some new blankets together for us. Her treasures were her pictures on the wall: the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, her greatest friends! Faded and a little warped by the smoke and the humidity in winter, I looked at them, praying, "O Jesus, if there is a place in the world where you love to stay and be consoled, this is it!" There I was, an eye-witness of the 1st Beatitude, "Happy are the poor in spirit, for the Kingdom of God is theirs."

In the parish, the young priest found just 12 believers when he arrived 2 years ago. Today there are 200. When they asked us to share with them the wonders of our lives, how many came? 200!
The 2nd part of this trip was in Indonesia, but the report of that will come later.
3. The Medjugorje effect!

Writing a letter to Our Lady is never fruitless (See PS7). As all mothers, she loves to receive mail from her children, and as our Heavenly Mother she answers divinely. Martina (from Milan) shares her own experience:

"Shorly after writing to the Gospa, I understood that we should go to Medjugorje as a family. Great news, my parents accepted to joins us. Of course, for them, the touristic side of the trip on the Adriatic coast was the most important.
From an early age, I had seen my parents fight. My brothers and I suffered a lot from this. Their emotions, crises, and arguing always ended badly: One of them would leave home for a few hours while the other one would weep. The worst was that their reputation for constant fighting stuck to them.  Our friends were aware of it and we could feel it.

We did not know what peace was. The threat of divorce was constant. As a little girl, I would tell myself, "Well, let them divorce, that will make them happier!" Yet, during 40 years of marriage, the divorce did not happen, thanks be to God!

In October 2015, there we were in Medjugorje. How did grace reach my parents' hearts? On the first evening, my mother agreed to go to confession, dragging her feet. She joined a long line in front of a confessional. But tired of waiting, she left her spot and I found her sitting in a coffee bar. I thought, "Well, this is a bad start to the pilgrimage!" She bombarded me with questions, "God exists, yes, but what does he want from me? My life is fine! God, OK, I don't mind a little bit, but I like my life. I don't want to end up in a convent. And then confession... I never know what to say to the priest, and I am not sure it is worth anything. The last time i went was 7 years ago."

However, she gave it a go the next day. Surprise! There was a free confessional, so she entered it right away. What happened inside that confessional? I have no idea! But several weeks later, I happened to spend a few days at my parents'. I was anticipating the atmosphere and I prepared myself to be hurt as usual. But to my great surprise no fight started between them during that time, absolutely none! Even better, my parents invited me to share their morning prayers, the rosary and other prayers, on our knees in front of a nicely displayed small altar - something new- and my mother wanted to close the prayers singing the Ave Maria with her beautiful voice.

Peace and reconciliation was restored again after 40 years of quarrels. This is one of the gifts I had asked for in my letter to the Gospa. Since then, my parents have become the model couple of my Christian faith. I am so happy to think that this radical change in them, towards peace and love, will inspire many people."

4. Thank you, Martina for giving this beautiful testimony! It reveals to us several things that many still find hard to believe:

- With God, it is never too late! "Patience obtains everything" (Teresa of Avila).

- Our Blessed Mother unfailingly works on everything we confide to her with faith and she ultimately wins the case one day or another.

- Divorce is not the best solution, "For God," Mary said. "Divorce does not exist." If divorce does not exist for God, it is because he has a better solution in store for us and he will reveal it to us in prayer.

- If there is a major obstacle in your life, impossible to overcome with human means, remember that nothing is impossible for God. Pray and trust! Also, as Martina did, write a letter to the Blessed Mother: There are countless examples where she has answered positively. Does she not come every day particularly to help us? In your letter to her, start with a warm thank you! "Prayers of thanksgiving are the first ones to reach heaven", said Vicka.

On June 25 we will celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Apparitions. Let us prepare for this blessed day in prayer! Everyone will find in their own hearts what present to offer her. For example, read again some of the key-messages that we have never lived so far. We can share this with her in our letters! We will then console her Immaculate Heart that "is bleeding as I look at you in sin and sinful habits", as she said on April 25.

5. Mother Teresa will be canonized on September 4th in Rome. This summer it could be very helpful for us to read or reread her writings, to let her voice resonate in our hearts! Her voice expresses bright lights for our time, which is so confused and so poor in spiritual warfare. Happy are those who will put into practice the wisdom of this great saint! She certainly does not show an easy way, for those who want an effortless life, but she shows the way of holiness!

Her path is one highlighted in the Gospel in its purity. As Jesus clearly said, "narrow is the door that leads to God's kingdom!" (Matt 7:13) When a saint is canonized, he or she sends exceptional graces on that day. So let us grab them and not miss the boat! (See PS1).

I happened to meet Mother Teresa in Calcutta in 1975, a year before I entered my Community, and she blessed me, looking at me straight in the eyes. A look of fire, indeed! Please ask her to remember me from Above, as I'm asking her to remember you too in her prayers!

May she inspire us on the way to holiness, the way that Mary calls us to be "My apostles" and also the "Apostles of Revelation" (See PS2).

The following quote is an adaptation of the Paradoxical Commandments by Dr. Kent M. Keith. Mother Teresa asked that it be painted on the wall of her orphanage in Calcutta for all who visited there to see:

"People are often unreasonable and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are honest people may cheat you.
Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."

The Intimate Daily Life of Divine Love with Jesus Through Mary

The Intimate Daily Life of Divine Love with Jesus Through Mary

We will begin a new series from the Masterpiece entitled “He and I” given by our Lord to Gabrielle Bossis with Imprimatur from Archbishop Jean-Marie Fortier, former Archbishop of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. I have often commented that I believe this is the greatest practical book in the history of the Church on what a moment by moment relationship of love with the Trinity is…what this relationship actually entails each moment of each day. It is a simple, but incredibly detailed, daily blueprint of exactly what the Lord desires and expects of each one of us called to love Him as we should. In addition, this Masterpiece doubles as an outstanding meditation treatise and with the Gospels provides all one needs if one is so inspired.
One way to think about this extraordinary Gift from God is this: it is a combination of the “Story of a Soul”, the “Practice of the Presence of God” and “Self Abandonment to Divine Providence” in one Book, but made so simple that one could not help but absorb it. In addition, it is an outstanding example of how to live the Flame of Love Grace each day. How can one avoid or ignore what is, in essence, a Divine Love Letter written by our Lord Himself to all His little ones (always with complete docility and obedience to Holy, Mother Church with whom is the final say on whether God Himself wrote the lines).
There are several overarching themes in “He and I” and two that have always struck me are the need God has chosen for Himself, in His infinite condescension, for us to be living Heaven on earth now by treating Him as if He were a loving member of our family, but with the respect due Him as our Lord and Creator. The second one is His desire to see us smile at Him in our soul and at Him in others constantly throughout the day and to engage in a loving, ongoing conversation throughout the day with Him as if He were actually with us…because He is when we are in a state of Grace! Our Lord also gave very detailed instructions on the spiritual life, which are exceptionally helpful to all the little ones seeking to imitate our dear model of littleness, St. Therese of Lisieux and our model of reparation, Elizabeth Kindelmann. Here is one example of how to go about your day:
“Divide your day into three parts. In the morning, as soon as you awaken, give yourself to the Father Creator, who offers you His Son as your food. After Mass, give yourself to the Son, who is in you. And fall asleep in the Holy Spirit, who is Love.”
“…I asked you to wake up in the arms of the Father, because each one of your mornings is a new creation. I asked you to fall asleep in the Holy Spirit, because your last conscious breath should be in Love.”
