The fruit of love is forgiveness.

Dear Family of Mary!
Our Lady has spoken strongly about the need to forgive. I find forgiveness to be a very difficult act. Maybe we all do. Here is a message in which Our Lady calls us to forgive:
January 25, 1996
"Dear Children!
Today I invite you to decide for peace.
Pray that God give you the true peace.
Live peace in your hearts
and you will understand, dear children,
that peace is the gift of God.
Dear children, without love you cannot live peace.
The fruit of peace is love
and the fruit of love is forgiveness.
I am with you and I invite all of you, little children,
that before all else forgive in the family
and then you will be able to forgive others.
Thank you for having responded to my call."
There is so much truth in this message!!!
Peace:
Peace is not just a feeling; it is a decision! Decide for peace!!
Peace is not something we can create ourselves; it is a gift from God!
Peace cannot exist in us if we do not love!!
Peace actually springs from love!! It is a fruit, a consequence of love!
And the consequence (the fruit) of love is FORGIVENESS!!
Forgiveness is a precious fruit of love. Forgiveness gives new life to those we forgive. Forgiveness rejuvenates our lives even in the act of forgiving. And forgiveness can free those we forgive from shame and fear, and open their lives to God's love as well!!
We learn to forgive first of all in the family, and from that experience of forgiveness, we are more able to forgive others. Forgiveness is a choice that comes from our choice to love!
The world needs our forgiveness. Every act of forgiveness opens up the possibility of healing and conversion for others. This is a very difficult call. It is one Our Lady wants us to answer freely.
Mother, help us to decide for peace. Show us the way to that decision. Give us hearts for peace, which means hearts that forgive. May we follow you. You show us the way to forgiveness by your life on earth. You forgave those who killed Jesus, you forgave the apostles who ran away at the crucifixion. You forgive us when we let you down. You will show us the way to love and forgiveness. We want to follow you, Mother Mary! Lead us!
