Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children; Today I call you to unity (communion) in Jesus, my Son. My motherly heart prays that you may comprehend that you are God's family. Through the spiritual freedom of will, which the Heavenly Father has given you, you are called to become cognizant (to come to the knowledge) of the truth, the good or the evil. May prayer and fasting open your hearts and help you to discover the Heavenly Father through my Son. In discovering the Father, your life will be directed to carrying out of God's will and the realization of God's family, in the way that my Son desires (wishes). I will not leave you alone on this path. Thank you."  (January 2, 2011)

Our Lady urges us to discover the Father, and to carry out His will.  She wants us to make real the Family of God as Jesus desires.  There is one word that describes all of this, love.  The Father created us to love.  Jesus taught us love.  The Family of God exists because of love.  Love is God and God is Love!  In each moment of each day, our task is to love.

St. Faustina described her understanding of love this way: DIVINE MERCY.jpg

"Jesus, You have given me to know and understand in what a soul's greatness consists: not in great deeds but in great love.  Love has its worth, and it confers greatness on all our deeds.  Although our actions are small and ordinary in themselves, because of love they become great and powerful before God.

"Love is a mystery that transforms everything it touches into things beautiful and pleasing to God.  The love of God makes a soul free.  She is like a queen; she knows no slavish compulsion; she sets about everything with great freedom of soul, because the love which dwells in her incites her to action.  Everything that surrounds her makes her know that only God Himself is worthy of her love.  A soul in love with God and immersed in Him approaches her duties with the same dispositions as she does Holy Communion and carries out the simplest tasks with great care, under the loving gaze of God.  She is not troubled if, after some time, something turns out to be less successful.  She remains calm, because at the time of the action she had done what was in her power...She knows she is not alone - God is her strength." (Diary 889-890)

Our lives are great opportunities that we have been given.  In our circumstances, in our families, in our work places, in our neighborhoods and cities, we have the opportunities to love, to do everything with love out of love for God.  This is our great calling!  It is our great destiny!  We are made for love.  As we live out of love for God, we will love all those He has placed in our lives and that will be how the Family of God is realized!  It is not so easy in the concrete realities of our lives, and we may think we have failed, but love will always win out in the end!  As St. Augustine once wrote, "Love, and do what you will!"

Oh, good Father, sweet Jesus, Holy Spirit, teach us to love as You do!

In Jesus and Mary!
