St. Athanasius

Dear Family of Mary!

Divine Mercy Sunday was an extraordinary day.  From morning to night, we could feel the intensity of the grace made available to the whole world through the Merciful Love of God.  Denis and I watched the beautiful Mass and Beatification of Blessed John Paul II on our computer through the Vatican Web Player (http://www.vatican.va/video/index.html).  It was an amazing feeling to be able to witness the entire ceremony from start to finish, in stunning video and audio.  We felt again great awe at the power of the new technologies that connect the ends of the earth so immediately.  The graces were palpable.

In fact, after the Beatification of Pope John Paul II, St. Peter's Basilica was opened up for those who wanted to venerate the body of Blessed John Paul II.  A very, very long line of pilgrims gathered to walk up the main aisle of the Basilica, circle around the main altar where the simple wooden coffin was laid in state, and then walk back out down that same long aisle.  The veneration began about 1:00 pm (Rome time) and it has not ended at the time of this writing (1:00 am Rome time!)  The Vatican officials have decided to leave the Basilica open for as long as it takes for everyone to file past the coffin.  And Vatican Television has remained on the air, to show the entire event.  It is an incredible witness of love.  It is Blessed John Paul II showing again his fatherly presence among us, drawing us to him in Christ's love!

We know now that Blessed Pope John Paul II was a gift of the Divine Mercy for our times.  He was the Pope given to our world to draw us close to God and prepare us for the new springtime.  As time goes by our awe only increases at the incredible gift he was and is to us!  We thank the Holy Trinity for giving us such a gift. It is Mercy itself that he was with us and led us for so many years.  Thank you, Father, Son and Spirit, for our Blessed John Paul II.  Thank you for loving us so much, that you gave him to us as our earthly father at the turn of the Millennium.

Today we will receive a message through Mirjana.  I will send it out as soon as I get it.  We can only expect more graces through Our Lady today.  She is the other gift of Divine Mercy given to us at the turn of the Millennium.  She is the Mother, sent by the Trinity to lead us as well.  What would we do without her?

I leave you with these words from Our Lady, given in 1994:

"Dear children!  Today I call you to prayer.  I am with you and I love you all.  I am your Mother and I wish that your hearts be similar to my heart.  Little children, without prayer you cannot live and say that you are mine.  Prayer is joy.  Prayer is what the human heart desires.  Therefore, get closer, little children, to my Immaculate Heart and you will discover God.  Thank you for having responded to my call." (November 25, 1994)

In Jesus, Mary, Joseph and Blessed Pope John Paul II!!
