St. Bernard
Dear Family of Mary!
We are approaching the 25th of the month. And each month Our Lady gives us a message through which she leads us to her Son. Month by month we are given her motherly direction and it is so very fruitful. Consider our most recent message of the 25th of July:
Our Lady wants us to live heaven here on earth. She desires that we carry within us the peace and joy of heaven. She wants us to be united to Jesus in such a way that we will be safe from every evil that is lurking in our world today. She wants us to be strong and safe from harm. And the Commandments of God are part of living heaven on earth. They create in us the purity of intention and the right relationship with God and our neighbor that we need to live God's peace.

Dear Family of Mary!
We are approaching the 25th of the month. And each month Our Lady gives us a message through which she leads us to her Son. Month by month we are given her motherly direction and it is so very fruitful. Consider our most recent message of the 25th of July:
July 25, 2018 "Dear children! God called me to lead you to Him because He is your strength. That is why I am calling you to pray to Him and to trust in Him, because He is your refuge from every evil that lurks and carries souls far from the grace and joy to which you are all called. Little children, live Heaven here on earth so that it will be good for you; and may the commandments of God be a light on your way. I am with you and I love you all with my motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call."
Jesus, in the Gospel for today shares the very same desire with the young man:
A young man approached Jesus and said,
"Teacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?"
He answered him, "Why do you ask me about the good?
There is only One who is good.
If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."
He asked him, "Which ones?"
And Jesus replied, "You shall not kill;
you shall not commit adultery;
you shall not steal;
you shall not bear false witness;
honor your father and your mother;
and you shall love your neighbor as yourself."
The young man said to him,
"All of these I have observed. What do I still lack?"
Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect, go,
sell what you have and give to the poor,
and you will have treasure in heaven.
Then come, follow me."
When the young man heard this statement, he went away sad,
for he had many possessions. (Mt 19:16-22)

Just as Our Lady said in her message, Jesus calls us to live His
Father's commandments if we want to gain eternal life. And living the
Commandments are the way that leads to perfection and helps us to follow
Jesus. But there is one last step that both Mary and Jesus recommended
It is allowing Jesus to be our refuge from evil. We need to trust in
Jesus so much that we can let go of all our earthly attachments and in
letting go we find ourselves safe and free from evil. Why? Because the
devil uses all that stuff to entrap us. Jesus wanted the young man to be
completely safe from the enemy and so he suggested that he sell his
stuff and "come follow me."
Our Lady says something similar "That is why I am calling
you to pray to Him and to trust in Him, because He is your refuge from
every evil that lurks and carries souls far from the grace and joy to
which you are all called." Our trust in Jesus, our taking
refuge in Him, will keep us safe. It will make us perfect! When we trust
Jesus we let go of the world and hang on to His hand. That is the
safest place to be!
Let's pray this week to be able to say yes to Jesus as Mary suggests, and let Jesus be our refuge.
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
