An initiative of the Mary of Nazareth Association November 2 – Coptic Church: Memorial of the Holy Family in Egypt A new pilgrimage in Egypt Flight into Egypt, by Gentile da Fabriano (Wikipedia) "In the Footsteps of the Holy Family" is the new pilgrimage route proposed by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism in partnership with the Coptic Orthodox Church. The flight of the Holy Family to Egypt is reported in the second chapter of Saint Matthew’s Gospel. When King Herod learned of the birth of the "King of the Jews" in Bethlehem, he feared for his power and sent his soldiers to kill all the male children under two years of age. Warned in a dream of this cruel plan, Joseph took the infant Jesus and his mother, as the Gospel says, and all three fled to Egypt, where they stayed for three and a half years, until the death of Herod. The Gospel says no more about the Holy Family’s stay in Egypt. According to the Coptic Church, the Holy Family first stayed in the Nile Delta, then went to Cairo, then to Memphis, before going south and to Upper Egypt. Their journey probably took them to Doronka just before Assiut, where we can visit the Coptic Orthodox Monastery of the Virgin Mary. Their long, adventurous journey is now relived through this new pilgrimage that will take pilgrims to meaningful places which bear the traces of the passage of Mary, Joseph and the Child Jesus. The Last Dogma In Marian History

“The Last Dogma in Marian History” In the November 15, 1951 message from the Lady of All Nations (Church approval May 31, 2002, see “Church Approves Apparitions of the Lady of All Nations,” Marian Private Revelation Category), the Lady tells the world to “pray to the Lord Jesus Christ… that the Spirit of Truth may dwell in the hearts of all nations.” After stating that the dogma of the Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate will be “the last dogma in Marian history” she instructs that the picture and prayer be spread to prepare the way for the dogma. Our Lady also mentions upcoming disasters, economic difficulties and wars, and gives specific messages to the countries of England, the United States of America, Germany, Holland, France and Italy. An initiative of the Mary of Nazareth Association November 1st – Queen of All Saints – All Saints Day – Our Lady of Folgöet (France) “Ave Maria! Salaun would gladly eat a piece of bread!” In around 1350, a man named Salaun lived in a clearing near the village of Folgoët (Northwestern France). Looked upon as a simpleton, Salaun would ask for alms, endlessly repeating: "Ave Maria! Salaun would gladly eat a piece of bread!" He loved to swing on the branch of a tree, above a spring, and sing loudly: "O Maria." His death in 1358 (at the age of 48) left people indifferent. He was buried in the village of Lannuchen near Kergoff Manor. Even today one can see the roadside shrine made with four stones that came from his tomb. Shortly after Salaun’s death, there on his grave next to the oak where he used to swing and the fountain where he often dipped his bread, a lily was found on which these words were written in gold letters: Ave Maria. Upon opening the grave, it was discovered that some lilies had grown out of the mouth of the deceased. The miracle attracted crowds, and a chapel was built over his grave. In 1365, they laid the foundation stone of a church and then in 1419, the bishop of Léon blessed the shrine. “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.” We believe in the Communion of Saints – the communion between the Saints triumphant in Heaven, the holy ones laboring on earth, and those suffering in purgatory but assured of eternal life. So in preparation for Commemoration of All Souls' Day, we remember and pray for those who have gone before us, and we also pray that their good example stirs us on to follow more closely the way of Jesus Christ, the way that leads to God’s Kingdom in Heaven. On November 2nd, we celebrate All Soul’s Day to commemorate and pray for the souls of our loved ones. The passing of our loved ones is not the end. It is, actually the beginning of eternal life.
