Mary TV: July 16, 2020 Reflection - Our Father....

Our Father...
  (c) Mary TV

July 16, 2020
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

Dear Family of Mary!

As tensions seem to be rising in our country, the USA, I have been having a difficult time maintaining my peace and hope. The Coronavirus may have changed the way we live, at least for a time, but there are other things that are changing which could have very bad consequences for us. Violence is escalating, rhetoric is growing more divisive, and tensions are high. So, a couple of days ago, I was having a very hard time calming down and opening my heart to prayer.

I remember being so sad, so worried, that I couldn't even begin the Rosary. But then all of a sudden, I felt a deep calm come over me. I then asked myself, what was it I really wanted? If I could change the world right now, what would I choose it to be. And immediately I began to pray the Our Father, very quietly and slowly, phrase by phrase.

Our Father....

Who art in Heaven...
.

Hallowed be Thy name....

I realized as I prayed that the words of the Our Father described perfectly exactly what I would want if I could change the world.

I realized that if the Our Father became my reality, I would be the most blessed of all people. The world would be a wonderful place to live. And all our troubles would be solved!

Think about it!!

Our Father... (To live with God as my Father, and God as my neighbor's father, and God as Father of every person on earth, would make us one family. We would all be bonded as siblings. There would be a family bond throughout the world!! And we would have the best, most perfect Father ever!)

Who art in Heaven...
(Our Father is in Heaven. He lives in eternal happiness and joy. And Heaven is going to be my home one day, if I choose God as my all in all. There is a Heaven. It is real. More real than earth. More substantial and beautiful than all the worlds combined. Wow)

Hallowed be Thy Name... (Oh how I wish we all would hallow God's Name. Synonyms for Hallowed are:
holy, sacred, consecrated, sanctified, blessed, blest. revered, reverenced, venerated, honored, sacrosanct, worshipped, divine, inviolable. If only all of us on earth would hallow God's name, showing such reverence and awe for Him that we would all fall in love with Him and obey Him! What a world that would be.)

Thy Kingdom come... (Oh if only God's Kingdom would come! All our trouble would be over. All our hopes would be fulfilled. There would be peace for all. We need God's Kingdom to come...)

Thy will be done... (God's will is life-giving and wholesome. God's will is that we live with Him forever, in Heaven. And He wills that our lives on earth will make us resemble His Son in love and sacrifice, so that others will join Him in Heaven. God's will is awesome!!)

On earth as it is in Heaven... (If the Kingdom would come on earth it would be Heaven on earth!)
Give us this day our daily bread... (If we lived trusting in God's providence, we would have a deep peace. This practice of trusting our lives into God's hands teaches us how to prepare for Heaven. It also helps us not to hoard or become self-absorbed. One day at a time, enough for me!)

And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us... (Forgiveness is a most healing action for us. By forgiving others we free ourselves from all the bad things that have happened to us and move into the freedom of Christ. Jesus taught us how to forgive on the Cross. To forgive is to be free! And as we forgive others, God can then forgive us! For certainly we have sinned as well. It is beautiful!!)

And lead us not into temptation... (The devil is the tempter. He spends every moment of every day whispering deceptive thoughts into our ears, hoping to snare us. He wants us to become like Him. So, we need God to protect us from the tempter by leading our thoughts away from temptation to hope and love. A life without temptation would be a peaceful life.)

But deliver us from evil... (Yes, there is evil in our world. We cannot solve it. We can only be lifted out of it by grace. God can save us from evil, if we ask Him to do it. Once we have forgiven and repented from our sin, we can give ourselves completely to the Lord, who can deliver us from all evil.)

Well, I went through the Our Father very slowly the next day. And each time I prayed a phrase of it, it sent me into a little ecstasy. I felt like I was floating on air. Everything I could wish for is contained in the Our Father. If it came to be, I would be the happiest person ever!!

I also realized that praying the Our Father, phrase by phrase, was like a deliverance prayer. I felt freer and freer of the anxiety, fear and sadness that was trying to overwhelm me. Really it was a spiritual warfare prayer that worked.

The Our Father answers all our needs! It is amazing!

Our Lady said to us:
April 02, 2014 "Dear children, with a motherly love I desire to help you with your life of prayer and penance to be a sincere attempt at drawing closer to my Son and His divine light - that you may know how to separate yourselves from sin. Every prayer, every Mass and every fasting is an attempt at drawing closer to my Son, a reminder of His glory and a refuge from sin - it is a way to a renewed union of the good Father and His children. Therefore, my dear children, with hearts open and full of love, cry out the name of the Heavenly Father that He may illuminate you with the Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit you will become a spring of God's love. All those who do not know my Son, all those thirsting for the love and peace of my Son, will drink from this spring. Thank you. Pray for your shepherds. I pray for them and I desire that they may always feel the blessing of my motherly hands and the support of my motherly heart."

"With Hearts open and full of love, cry out the name of the Heavenly Father that He may illuminate you with the Holy Spirit!"

This is exactly what this prayer of the Our Father was doing for me. It was filling me with the Holy Spirit.

Whenever I start feeling anxiety now, I dive into the prayer of the Our Father, slowly, deliberately saying each phrase, realizing that I am praying for the answer to all our troubles. And my heart rests in God.

Mary TV: July 15, 2020 Reflection - To Babes!

God chooses to reveal Himself to Babes!
  (c) Mary TV

July 15, 2020
St. Bonaventure, Bishop, Doctor of the Church

Dear Family of Mary!

The Gospel for today shares one of the most amazing mysteries of God's relationship with us:

At that time Jesus declared, "I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will. All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. (Mt 11:25-27)

What does Jesus say? God the Father chooses to reveal things about Himself to babes! He actually hides those things from the wise and understanding and shares them with little ones. What is it about babes that makes them more suited to receiving God's revelation? Why are they better stewards of these mysteries than the wise and the learned?

In a word, I believe it is humility. The humble heart trusts God and is able to accept the revelations of love that the Father sends to it. The humble heart is ready to suffer for those truths, those revelations of our God. The humble heart is empty of self and capable of loving his neighbor enough to share the revelation of God's love with him. A humble one will not take God's word and use it for himself but will share it freely.

Our Lady told us:

October 2, 2010 "Dear children; Today I call you to a humble, my children, humble devotion. Your hearts need to be just. May your crosses be your means in the battle against the sins of the present time. May your weapon be patience and boundless love, a love that knows to wait and which will make you capable of recognizing God's signs, that your life, by humble love, may show the truth to all those who seek it in the darkness of lies... My children, my apostles, help me to open the paths to my Son. Once again, I call you to pray for your shepherds. Alongside them, I will triumph. Thank you."

She tells us that we must have a humble devotion. We must be very aware of our smallness and God's universal authority and power. We must be so sure of God's infinite love that we will be able to carry our crosses with trust and hope, knowing that these crosses will bring victory. Only little ones who have God as their true and real Father can do that.

We must fight for the truth with patience and boundless love, waiting for God to give us the signs we need. Those signs are the revelations that Jesus was rejoicing about in the Gospel. God will show the little ones the way forward! He will illumine their way. And as they travel on that way, those who do not know God will be amazed and begin to follow them. Truly it will be clear that God is leading them.

This is very much a part of our job as Our Lady's children. She is forming an army of "babes" who can be led by God and receive God's signs. We will be able to show the way for those who do not know Him.

In this time of uncertainty, Our Lady needs her humble ones who can accompany her in this battle for souls. She needs little ones to whom the Father reveals His love. Armed with that love, they will be able to pray for the conversion of souls, pray for the healing of hearts, pray for the deliverance from evil, and stand with Our Lady in her Triumph!

Mary TV: July 14, 2020 Reflection - The Grace of Conversion

Pray for the grace of conversion!
  (c) Mary TV

July 14, 2020
St. Kateri Tekakwitha

Dear Family of Mary!

"...Return, little children, to prayer and open your hearts in this time of grace and set out on the way of conversion...."(June 25, 2020)

As Denis and I drove home from early morning Mass yesterday (July 13) I was overwhelmed with a thought that I believe was from God. I felt strongly that the Lord wanted me to know this one thing: He wanted me to know that now, in these days ahead, He wants to pour out upon our tired world a powerful grace of conversion. He wants to flood the entire world with an extraordinary grace for conversion for all souls, believers and unbelievers alike. But He needs our prayers to draw those graces down. He needs intercessors to pray for the souls to open to this grace.

I told Denis about this interior word that I received. And we began to pray for it to happen. We felt, in fact, that we should devote our prayers for this intention.

I am sharing this with all of you, for your discernment. If you feel in your hearts to pray for souls to open to the grace of conversion, that would be great!! I am sure that even if my word is just my own thought, it is still a great prayer petition! To pray for souls to open to the grace of conversion is an act of mercy, I think!! How many souls have no one to pray for them! We can be those prayer warriors. And so, it really is a win/win! Think of what a change the world would have if souls began to convert in big numbers!!!

Our Lady recently said to us:

August 25, 2019 "Dear children! Pray, work and witness with love for the Kingdom of Heaven that it may be good for you here on earth. Little children, God will bless your effort a hundredfold; you will be witnesses among peoples, souls of unbelievers will feel the grace of conversion and Heaven will be grateful for your efforts and sacrifices. Little children, witness with the Rosary in hand that you are mine and decide for holiness. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Our Lady tells us that God will bless our efforts a hundredfold, if we work for the Kingdom. Souls of unbelievers will feel the grace of conversion!! That is exactly what I was feeling. We now have the opportunity to save and bless many souls, hundreds of souls, maybe thousands of souls, through God's blessing of our prayer. He wants to bring His children into his embrace. We can help by praying for the conversion of all souls in these most difficult days.

St. Faustina was given a short prayer to pray for the conversion of souls. Here is what Jesus taught her:

Today Jesus said to me, "I desire that you know more profoundly the love that burns in My Heart for souls, and you will understand this when you meditate upon My Passion. Call upon My mercy on behalf of sinners; I desire their salvation. When you say this prayer, with a contrite heart and with faith on behalf of some sinner, I will give him the grace of conversion.

This is the prayer:
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You." (Diary 186-187)

Let's start praying this prayer for the conversion of souls. Of course, all our prayers will work, the Rosary, Holy Mass, the Divine Office, etc. Let's pray up a storm for conversions!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: July 13, 2020 Reflection - The Joy of Living

Discover the joy of living!!
  (c) Mary TV

June 13, 2020
St. Henry

Dear Family of Mary!

"Your life is passing and, without God, does not have meaning. This is why I am with you to lead you towards holiness of life, so that each of you may discover the joy of living..." (June 25, 2020)

Our Lady is not afraid to point out to us that our lives are passing. She tells us that frequently. I have always thought that she is quite bold. In the modern world, where many people do not believe in God or eternal life, the idea of death is quite repugnant. They spend a lot of time trying to postpone aging, in an attempt to ignore the fact that they will one day die. Look how young I look! Isn't it amazing? And they just do not talk about death in personal terms.

But Our Lady, in her humility and holiness, did not fear death nor live as if death did not exist. She had lived the death of her Son, Jesus, at the hands of His enemies, and she had waited in silence and faith for His Resurrection. She waited in deep patience and prayer for her own death and was assumed into Heaven!! She knows that life on earth will end for every man, but that life in Heaven will never end. And so, she keeps trying to wake us up to the reality of death, the reality of this passing world, so that we will aim at the life in Heaven, through faith.

Mother knows we try to run from the reality of death. God sent her to us to wake us up! She is with us to keep the reality of our passing earthly life before our eyes because it is the truth and as an incentive for us to choose her Son and His love as our sole reality. Only by living with Jesus, living in humility and holiness, will we find the joy in living. Jesus makes everything in this passing world meaningful because each thought, word and deed done for love of Him and fidelity to the Father, will bring us closer and closer to heaven. The joy of living is the joy of living for Jesus!

She said as much in this message:

November 25, 2012 "Dear children! In this time of grace, I call all of you to renew prayer. Open yourselves to Holy Confession so that each of you may accept my call with the whole heart. I am with you and I protect you from the ruin of sin, but you must open yourselves to the way of conversion and holiness, that your heart may burn out of love for God. Give Him time and He will give Himself to you and thus, in the will of God you will discover the love and the joy of living. Thank you for having responded to my call."

God sent Our Lady to us, at this particular time in history, to lead us to holiness of life so that we would find in that holiness the joy of living! The Father knew that we would need her help at this time, when the enemy of our souls is attempting to destroy us all. But the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is upon us to deep-six the enemy's entire plan of destruction. Let's stay safely under her mantle and live the joy she is bringing us. This is the battle plan from Heaven.

Mary TV: July 10, 2020 Reflection - Return to prayer, Part 4!

Return to prayer!!!
  (c) Mary TV

July 10, 2020

Dear Family of Mary!

"...Return, little children, to prayer and open your hearts in this time of grace and set out on the way of conversion..." (June 25, 2020)

Here is the prayer that Fr. Slavko composed as a response to his teaching on prayer in the book, "Be Similar to My Heart". Let's pray it! We need Jesus to help us to pray. We are so little and in need!!

Lord Jesus, I adore You and thank You for your presence. I pray with joy that You are with me. Thank you for Your name Emmanuel - God with us, God for us. Today I have in my heart the desire to pray as You asked me and as Mary is teaching me. Like the apostles I ask You now, Lord Jesus, teach me to pray. Give me the grace of prayer so that it may be always leading to the Father and the Holy Spirit. May my prayer be joy, being with You. In this silence, Lord Jesus, teach me to pray.

Lord Jesus, I adore You. Teach me to meet You and the Father and the Holy Spirit in every prayer. Hear my voice so that I may be able to give up to the Father and to You, in your name, all my problems, all my wounds, all my desires, all my intentions so that my heart may be free for meeting You. Forgive me, O Jesus, when I was looking for something other than You. For this reason, I pray that my desire and decision will be to be with You, the Father and the Holy Spirit. Forgive me when my prayers were like battles, fighting with God, our Father, in Heaven. O Jesus, make my heart free and teach me to pray.

Lord Jesus, say a word, and heal my spirit of prayer. Heal my prayer to become a prayer of joy in meeting You. Make me free from everything that is hindering me to meet You. Give me, my family, my prayer group, my communities and Church the Spirit of Prayer. May my prayers praise You and bless You. May my prayer become for me the love You have for me. Amen.
(Fr. Slavko Barbaric, "Be Similar to Hy Heart". P. 40.)

November 25, 1994 "Dear children! Today I call you to prayer. I am with you and I love you all. I am your Mother and I wish that your hearts be similar to my heart. Little children, without prayer you cannot live and say that you are mine. Prayer is joy. Prayer is what the human heart desires. Therefore, get closer, little children, to my Immaculate Heart and you will discover God. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Mary TV: July 9, 2020 Reflection - Return to prayer, Part 3!

"Open your hearts in this time of grace..."
  (c) Mary TV

July 9, 2020
Saint Augustine Zhao Rong and Companions, Martyrs

Dear Family of Mary!

"...Return, little children, to prayer and open your hearts in this time of grace and set out on the way of conversion..." (June 25, 2020)

Today we have Part 3 of our teaching from Fr. Slavko Barbaric about prayer. I am already reaping the benefits of his words.

Return to Prayer, Part 3:

Our Lady's desire is to teach us how to trust God and how to let go. It is sad when we hear people say, "I have prayed , but God has not answered my prayer" or, "I have prayed, but have not received anything." Prayer must be a free encounter with God. This does not mean we cannot ask for our own desires or needs, but we should first look for God because He loves us, and then ask Him for our needs. So many of us have stopped praying because we have fulfilled our needs or received what we were asking for from other people. Then we have no need for God. Our mentality is seeing God as a 'store', in which we go and get what we need and then go home again. We must change our views and mentality of our relationship with God and this change is only possible through prayer and fasting. Just recently it seems that the Church has rediscovered fasting. This has a lot to do with Our Lady's call to fast on Wednesday and Friday. Since the Church is rediscovering fasting, we too are rediscovering the benefit and graces that come from it.

Our life does not necessarily mean the well-being of only our human body, but our soul as well. If we treated our bodies the way we treated our souls, we would destroy ourselves, and many of us have already. Some days we feel so good we could pray for hours and hours. Then a day comes and the thought of praying even depresses us. It is at these moments we should pray. When we are ill and we have no appetite for food, that is the time we need food the most. Thomas Merton once said; "Pure love and prayer are learned in the hour when prayer has become impossible and your heart has turned to stone."

If we cannot learn to just 'be' with God, then our prayer becomes only a task. Our prayer life should not be based on our feelings, because our feelings are in constant motion. Our prayer life takes discipline, work and perseverance. Our Lady says in one of her messages, "YOU SHOULD WORK ON YOUR PRAYER LIKE YOU WORK IN THE FIELDS."

One thing Our Lady wants to teach us, but that she does not say, is that our prayer should not become an argument with God about His will. We wonder who will win - God or me? It can be compared to a battle with God. The following is an appropriate story about our own will. A man heard of a place in the desert where miracles happened continuously. He went to this desert and asked the man, "Do miracles happen here?" - "Yes, miracles happen here," answered the man. "So, let's see one," the curious man said. The man living in the desert said, "It depends on what you see as a miracle. For us a miracle is when a person accepts the will of God. Yet for you, it is when God accepts your own will!"

If we continue that way, only praying for our own needs, we are going to eventually lose because God is always stronger. The purpose of prayer is not to find out who is stronger, but to find out what God's will is for us. Our Lady said in one of her messages, "DO NOT SEARCH FOR GOD BECAUSE OF YOUR OWN NEEDS OR DESIRES, BUT BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU."

What is motivating us in our relationship with God? What is the intention? What is it that we want as compared to what God wants? What is the will of Our Lady as far as our prayer is concerned? What is it that we want when we pray?

Let us reflect, asking for the grace to come before the presence of our Lord Jesus. Let us, through His mother, Mary, express our love, our praise and our adoration for Him. (Fr. Slavko Barbaric. "Be Similar to My Heart". P. 38-39)

Thank you Fr. Slavko! Thank you, dearest Mother, Mary!! Thank you for this message you gave to us about prayer:

August 25, 2017 "Dear children! Today I am calling you to be people of prayer. Pray until prayer becomes a joy for you and a meeting with the Most High. He will transform your hearts and you will become people of love and peace. Do not forget, little children, that Satan is strong and wants to draw you away from prayer. You, do not forget that prayer is the secret key of meeting with God. That is why I am with you to lead you. Do not give up on prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Mary TV: July 8, 2020 Reflection - Return to prayer, Part 2!

More Patient Prayer during Adoration in Medjugorje
  (c) Mary TV

July 8, 2020

Dear Family of Mary!

"...Return, little children, to prayer and open your hearts in this time of grace and set out on the way of conversion..." (June 25, 2020)

Return to Prayer, Part 2! Fr. Slavko continues to help us to return to prayer:

Sometimes we feel that we have gone into many intense dimensions of prayer, but still have not found the joy or patience of which Our Lady speaks. St. Augustine was looking for Jesus once and became desperate. Then in prayer Jesus told him, "You would not be able to look for me, if I was not already with you!" This can only be understood in the atmosphere of love. The logic of love is that you never feel close enough and always feel far away!

Most of the time our feelings and dispositions during prayer control what we do while in prayer. We forget the real reason for being in prayer. We look at prayer as a function or a chore. For example, when we feel that we cannot say the Rosary, we then all to quickly decide that we should leave. Instead of leaving and thus being physically absent, even if we do not say one word, we should stay. It cannot be emphasized enough how important it is to just 'be in prayer' with God.

Often when we are with someone we love; we do not need to say one word to that person. All we want is to just 'be' with him. The time spent with that person is 'enough' for us. So, we can say that silence is the 'language of love' for God. It is through our silence and 'being' with Him that we express total, pure and unconditional love for Him.

Prayer is a decision to just be with God the way we are right now. We pray because God has called us to be with Him. This is the only way we can come to know God. Many people know of God, but do not know God or His love. Mirjana, one of the visionaries, has the special mission of praying for the intention of all nonbelievers. We know those are people who do not believe that God exists. However, this can also include those people who know God exists, but who do not know or have never experienced His love. We should then recognize that this also includes ourselves at given times in our lives!

Many times our heart and soul can be distanced from God and be far away. This can go on for an entire lifetime with some people. We can be considered nonbelievers during this time, in one sense of the word. Our Baptism does not 'guarantee' that we will be the Christians that God has intended us to be. It cannot be emphasized enough that the primary act in prayer is to 'be' with God. This to 'be' in His Majestic Presence, is His will for us.

Our Lady is coming to us to teach us how to pray and how to be with God. She tells us to look for God because we love Him, and not because of our desires. She also tells us that PRAYER IS JOY. We cannot live or exist without prayer. Jesus told us we should pray and everything else will be given to us. Prayer is an encounter with God. God is the One who is always giving. So many times, we ask for trivial things in our lives and we disregard what is truly important. We end up having neither the time nor the space for what is really important, which is living in the center of God's will.

Silence and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament are two key responses to God's wish that we pray. The most important thing is to remain in silence in order to hear God's voice and what He has to say to us. In Adoration, many things can take place without us realizing it, such as, the healing of memories, wounds and sufferings. Sometimes we think that God and Our Lady are not answering our prayers. This is because we have occupied all the lines here on earth - constantly bothering Him and asking for things. We must learn to let go and totally give ourselves to God. In AA groups, there is a well-known expression that says, "Let go and let God." There will always be fear from within when we do this act of total surrender to Him, but we must do it! (Fr. Slavko Barbaric, "Be Similar to my Heart". P. 36-38)

Let go and let God!! That is real surrender! In fact, what Fr. Slavko is telling us fits very well with our Surrender Novena from Fr. Dolindo. If we want to truly enter into prayer, we must surrender ourselves completely to God, and trust that He will take care of everything. Then our petitions fall away, and we have time to be with God in an embrace of love!

Part 3 from Fr. Slavko tomorrow!

Mary TV: July 7, 2020 Reflection - Return to prayer!!!

The Patient Prayer of Adoration of Jesus in Medjugorje
  (c) Mary TV

July 7, 2020

Dear Family of Mary!

"...Return, little children, to prayer and open your hearts in this time of grace and set out on the way of conversion..." (June 25, 2020)

Return to prayer! It might seem strange that Our Lady would say such a thing. Aren't we already praying in answer to her call? What more does she want? But in actuality we constantly need to return to prayer. We need to be vigilant in prayer so that prayer does not just become a habit. I want to quote Fr. Slavko, who wrote extensively about prayer, according to Our Lady of Medjugorje. He helps us return to prayer through his insights. This excerpt is from "Be Similar to My Heart" by Fr. Slavko Barbaric:

"There are two conversions that should happen to us; IN OUR PRAYER and TO OUR PRAYER. The first conversion is to start to pray. Many people do not pray at all. The second conversion takes place in the prayer itself. We make 'free' our desires. Our prayers must be free of wanting to gain something from God, but rather to just 'be' with God. Some people's prayers consist only of their wants, needs and desires. They come to tell their story to God but do not wait for an answer. Once they finish the list of wants, they immediately leave. We must be very cautious when we are praying and fasting, so as not to 'blow the horns' in front of us. We may end up 'boasting' to God about our prayers and be blind to giving Him our love. Sometimes we know we should go to Confession, but at the same time, we are not aware of the fact that we must change first. Conversion is not just saying many words but is then seen really by actions.

"An example of true conversion in our prayer is when we are looking for God because He loves us rather than looking because we want our needs met. In the September 1987 message Our Lady says, "Dear children, I invite you to prayer. May prayer be your life." What is missing then in our prayer? Our Lady continually calls us to prayer. We do all the necessary things - Rosaries, Stations of the Cross and Holy Mass - yet, Our Lady still keeps asking for us to pray! WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN ORDER FOR THIS TO BE FULFILLED?

"...Perhaps the fact that she is asking us repeatedly to prayer does not mean we are not praying. Maybe what it means is she wants to show us a new dimension of prayer....

"In July 1994 Our Lady says, "Patiently give time to God." Even here she is, like a mother, showing us and teaching her children to behave. It can be said that patience is a great virtue. It is a condition that teaches us how we can be with each other. Patience also helps us to speak with others and listen to others. If there is no patience, we cannot speak or listen to ourselves or others. We have probably all experienced this in encounters with others and in our families. If we speak impatiently to someone, their ears close. Patience is important whenever we meet someone and whoever is impatient cannot meet others on any level.

"Patience is also a product of love. If we love someone, we are automatically patient with that person, in all circumstances. If we do not love, we cannot be patient with ourselves or others. Every moment we spend with a person, whom we do not like, is much too long of a moment. Patience cannot be imagined or created. It is only born out of love. If we have lost our patience, then we have lost or failed in love. When we lack love, then we tend to be impatient. Our Lady is telling us that we should 'patiently' give time to God. When we have patience with God, this patience comes out of love for God. Very often we pray impatiently, and our prayers seem to be too long. Even Mass is too long for some. Whenever we talk with someone we love, we make the best of it. This is what should happen when we are with God. Many people in the world today have lost the purpose of prayer, and therefore, have also lost the purpose of love!" (Fr. Slavko Barbaric. Be similar to My Heart. Information Center, Medjugorje 1994)

Tomorrow I will share more of Fr. Slavko's teaching on prayer. I am sure his wisdom will help us to return to prayer as Our Lady asks. In these very difficult days, we need very much to be living prayer!

Mary TV: July 6, 2020 Reflection - The Mother intercedes for us!

  (c) Mary TV

July 6, 2020
St. Maria Goretti

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! I am listening to your cries and prayers, and am interceding for you before my Son Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Return, little children, to prayer and open your hearts in this time of grace and set out on the way of conversion. Your life is passing and, without God, does not have meaning. This is why I am with you to lead you towards holiness of life, so that each of you may discover the joy of living. I love you all, little children, and am blessing you with my motherly blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call." (June 25, 2020)

"Dear children! I am listening to your cries and prayers, and am interceding for you before my Son Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life..."

Our Lady began this message with this comforting sentence. She told us she is listening to our cries and prayers. She hears us. She is tuned in to us! She knows what each one of us is going through, and she is aware of our sufferings and fears. She wants us to know that she hears us!

And what does she do with the information she is getting from us? She turns around and tells Jesus. She takes our petitions and fearful cries and she give them to Jesus, who is the only answer to all our fears and worries in these days. I think we should stop and really take this in. We have a direct line to God! It is Our Lady!!

Our shipmate, Brother Mark, sent me this encouraging story from early church history today:

There is an old pius tradition in which St. Peter went to see Our Lady before her Assumption. The Apostles were all called to give their farewells to the Mother of God.

St. Peter when he went to see Our Lady said, "Mother when you see Jesus tell Him I love Him." Our Lady responded, "Peter, He already knows that." St Peter then said, "Yes, but I want Him to hear that I love Him from YOUR lips!"

That's what we have been given each day through Medjugorje. We pray and Our Lady from Her lips and Immaculate Heart offers our prayers to the Trinity. (Mark of the Mother of God OCDS)

Doesn't this give us peace of heart! St. Peter knew the efficacy of Our Lady's intercession. He knew that a love note sent to Jesus through Mary would be oh so much sweeter!! All our needs and fears and worries and questions and problems and difficulties and desires will reach the ear of Jesus through Mary. We want Jesus to hear them from HER lips!! Yes, Yes, Yes!!!

Take heart!! We are in very good hands with the Mother. Just keep crying out to her and praying to her, and she will take care of it all.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: July 3, 2020 Reflection - Believe!

  (c) Mary TV

July 3, 2020
St. Thomas, Apostle

Dear Family of Mary!

Let's read the Gospel for the Feast of St. Thomas, which is today:

"Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So, the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But Thomas said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nail marks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe." Now a week later his disciples were again inside, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe." Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." (John 20: 24-29)

There are so many levels of meaning in this Gospel! But the one I like the most is the realization that Jesus arranged for Thomas not to see Him at first, so that He could demonstrate to all of us that He was indeed risen from the dead, body and soul! And Thomas did a great job of demonstrating this reality to us by his reaction!!

To believe in Jesus is maybe the most important and incredible gift we can ever receive. Believing in Jesus opens us up to a glorious future in heaven with the Trinity and the Angels and all the Saints!! But as Thomas shows us, believing takes some work. We have to be active in our search for the Truth. We cannot just wait for it to dawn on us. We have to seek it.

Our Lady speaks to us about our believing in a beautiful way. Here are five messages that we can take to heart and pray over. Our Lady's words carry grace as well, and she can help us deepen and perfect our faith. Use these messages with a Rosary today!! It will be like a tonic!

May 25, 1999 "Dear children! Also today I call you to convert and to more firmly believe in God. Children, you seek peace and pray in different ways, but you have not yet given your hearts to God for Him to fill them with His love. So, I am with you to teach you and to bring you closer to the love of God. If you love God above all else, it will be easy for you to pray and to open your hearts to Him. Thank you for having responded to my call."

November 25, 2017 "Dear children! In this time of grace, I call you to prayer. Pray and seek peace, little children. He who came here on earth to give you His peace, regardless of who you are and what you are - He, my Son, your Brother - through me is calling you to conversion, because without God you do not have a future or eternal life. Therefore, believe and pray and live in grace and the expectation of your personal meeting with Him. Thank you for having responded to my call."

December 25, 2017 "Dear children, today, on this day of grace, I am calling you to ask the Lord for the gift of faith. My children, decide for God and begin to live and to believe in that which God is calling you to. To believe, my children, means to surrender your lives into God's hands - the hands of the Lord who created you and who loves you immeasurably. Do not be believers only in words but live and witness your faith through works and through your personal example. Speak with God as with your Father. Open and surrender your hearts to Him and you will see how your hearts are changing and how your life will marvel at God's works in your life. My children, there is no life without God and that is why, as your mother, I intercede before, and pray to, my Son to renew your hearts and to fill your life with immeasurable love. Thank you for having responded to my call.

December 25, 2018 "Dear children, on this day of grace, I am calling you to love. Little children, God loves you immeasurably and that is why, little children, full of trust and without looking back and without fear, completely surrender your hearts to Him so that God may fill them with His love. Do not be afraid to believe in His love and mercy, because His love is stronger than every one of your weaknesses and fears. Therefore, my children, full of love in your hearts, trust in Jesus and say your 'yes' to Him, because He is the only way which leads you to the Eternal Father."

December 25, 2019 "Dear children, today, on this day of grace, in a special way I am calling you to open your hearts and to implore Jesus to strengthen your faith. Children, through prayer with the heart, faith and works you will come to know what it means to live a sincere Christian life. Often times, children, darkness, pain and crosses overwhelm your hearts. Do not waver in faith and ask 'why' because you think that you are alone and abandoned. Instead, open your hearts, pray and believe firmly and then your heart will feel God's nearness and that God never abandons you - that He is beside you at every moment. Through prayer and faith, God will answer your every 'why' and transform your every pain, darkness and cross into light. Thank you."

The Procession with Our Lady on the 39th Anniversary in Medjugorje

July 3, 2020

Dear Children of Our Lady of Medjugorje,

I've heard Fr. Ivan Dugandizic's June 25th homily in Medjugorje referred to as "The homily of the century!" I want to revisit it with you again, so that we won't forget it.  What Fr. Ivan says about Our Lady, the Woman from the Future, is very important for us to understand.

I'm sharing some of the transcription with you again here - though Cathy shared the 2nd half of the homily in her July 1, 2020 Reflection:

That very beautiful Mass, celebrating the 39th Anniversary of Our Lady's apparitions, can still be watched at Mary TV:  https://marytv.tv/evening-international-mass-2/     (And note that you can now easily share with anyone all of the videos on Mary TV!)

God bless you!
Denis

Excerpt from Fr. Ivan Dugandzic's Homily for the 39th Anniversary of Our Lady's coming to Medjugorje.

"Dear brothers and sisters, Mary is the Woman from the future. Because she is the only person, who with her life and with her Assumption into Heaven, has achieved the fullness of Salvation. And according to that, we faithful are just walking in faith and hope towards that fullness of salvation, believing that it will be accomplished for us at the end of time. And since Jesus from the Cross left her to be our Mother and our Intercessor, our destiny has been tied to her and her role in the plan of salvation.

"This is the theological background, and this is the grounding foundation of her frequent apparitions, especially in difficult historical circumstances. When the world's countries are in a mess, and when even the Church does not have a clear vision of the future, God sends the Woman from Eternity, so she can encourage us. She can show us the way of salvation.

"And just like the Angel once gave to her the word of encouragement, "Do not be afraid, Mary;" in the same way, Our Lady encouraged her surprised and terrified children [the Medjugorje visionaries] that she had chosen as her witnesses. Through them to the world, she gave and is giving a clear message of Peace.

"And now, in this moment it is completely obvious that Peace cannot be guaranteed by state officials and mighty politicians of this world. There is conflict between various ideologies and military alliances, and peace conferences are being held in vain. And there are always new peace accords that are being signed. Peace has been endangered more and more, because people do not speak with their pure heart and sincere intentions. That is why it is in danger....

"So, it happens, that in the desolation of the immorality of this world, from Apparition Hill, the clear stream from Eternity has been released into the desert of the world! Many have recognized and accepted this stream of peace. And that is how Medjugorje gradually with time has become the place of conversion and prayer, the confessional of the whole world. And so, in the meantime, the Church, after a long time and much careful observation and questioning, has recognized and accepted this clear stream of peace.

"A year ago, a reputable representative from the Vatican, Archbishop Fisichella, right from this pulpit, publicly said that there is no better form of New Evangelization that the Church has longed for, for a long time, than what takes place in Medjugorje. It needs to be rooted and planted in every part of the world.

"This has been confirmed to us indirectly in the words of Our Holy Father, Benedict XVI, in his recently published book. When asked by the journalist how does he feel about the spiritual stage of this world today, with great seriousness, after he mentions some concrete moral deviations, he warned that there is more danger in that which is invisible and is being hidden behind the visible moral deviations. And he says literally this: modern society at the moment is in the face of forming an anti-Christian credo; and opposing this credo is punished with social ex-communication. The fear of that mighty power of antichrist is completely natural. And what is necessary is the prayer of the whole Church to resist him.

"Brothers and sisters, all of you who are honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace: We are the witnesses of this drama of mankind. The Antichrist, with the help of his many alliances, truly wishes to create man in his own image. That is why he wishes to wipe off the image of God in man; to kill that gene that man has when he as a creature comes from Creator. He wishes to define human nature anew. And he is declaring that what was once evil, now is something which is completely normal and acceptable. And all those who feel differently, they are forbidden. Then in the name of being politically correct and in the name of social tolerance, people represent and defend these evils, since otherwise they would be declared 'conservative' and they would be harmful for advancement of society.

"In such a spiritual state of the world, for 39 years, here, right here, the 'Woman from the Future,' Queen of Peace, has been showing us the way to true peace and the future with God. She is reminding us permanently that this is the path of holiness, the path to God in the everyday realities of our lives. Our Lady of Medjugorje has been gathering the Church that prays. The Church that with the power of the prayer would successfully resist the opposing force of the antichrist, as Benedict said.

"Let us be sincerely grateful that she considers us and calls us her "Dear Children." And she wants us to be her witnesses and the apostles in that plan of salvation of the world. Devoted to her, let us be, in joy, open to the future that God is preparing for the Church and for the world. Amen!"

Amen! Ave Maria!

Mary TV: July 2, 2020 Reflection - The Litany of the Precious Blood

  (c) Mary TV

July 2, 2020

Dear Family of Mary!

"...Out of love, the Blood of my Son was shed for you. That Precious Blood is for your salvation, for eternal life..." (May 2, 2019)

Yesterday was the "old" feast of the Precious Blood of Jesus, according to Fr. Leon. He gave a very powerful and serious homily at the English Mass yesterday. I hope to transcribe it for us soon. But at the end of the homily he told us about the Litany of the Precious Blood of Jesus. I had never heard of it. He made it clear that this Litany is necessary in these days when the devil is so active in the world.

I want to share his concluding words and the Litany with you all today!

On July 1, 2020 at English Mass in Medjugorje, Fr. Leon said this:

"I pray the Litany of the Precious Blood every day for a specific reason. Because the demons are fighting. They are fighting to confuse people. I pray the Litany of the Precious Blood every day and many, many priests and many lay people pray this every day. And I encourage you too. It doesn't take too long. It is powerful. We need the Precious Blood more and more to protect us and to guard us, because only by the Precious Blood are we saved."

Here is a link to Fr. Leon's Homily for English Mass in Medjugorje on July 1, 2020:

https://marytv.tv/marytv-latest-videos/?smid=6FgGLYsAokj&slid=mP9bEiEsi5K

Here is the Litany of the Precious Blood of Jesus. Let's begin praying it today and every day for our safety and the safety and protection of all.

Litany of the Precious Blood of Jesus

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.

God, the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us.
God, the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, One God, have mercy on us.

Blood of Christ, only-begotten Son of the Eternal Father, save us. (after each line)
Blood of Christ, Incarnate Word of God,
Blood of Christ, of the New and Eternal Testament,
Blood of Christ, falling upon the earth in the Agony,
Blood of Christ, shed profusely in the Scourging,
Blood of Christ, flowing forth in the Crowning with Thorns,
Blood of Christ, poured out on the Cross,
Blood of Christ, price of our salvation,
Blood of Christ, without which there is no forgiveness,
Blood of Christ, Eucharistic drink and refreshment of souls,
Blood of Christ, stream of mercy,
Blood of Christ, victor over demons,
Blood of Christ, courage of martyrs,
Blood of Christ, strength of confessors,
Blood of Christ, bringing forth virgins,
Blood of Christ, help of those in peril,
Blood of Christ, relief of the burdened,
Blood of Christ, solace in sorrow,
Blood of Christ, hope of the penitent,
Blood of Christ, consolation of the dying,
Blood of Christ, peace and tenderness of hearts,
Blood of Christ, pledge of Eternal Life,
Blood of Christ, freeing souls from purgatory,
Blood of Christ, most worthy of all glory and honor,

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,
Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,
Graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.

V. Thou hast redeemed us, O Lord, in Thy Blood.
R. And made us, for our God, a kingdom.

Let us pray:
Almighty and eternal God, Thou hast appointed Thine only-begotten Son the Redeemer of the world and willed to be appeased by his blood. Grant, we beg of Thee, that we may worthily adore this price of our salvation and through its power be safeguarded from the evils of the present life so that we may rejoice in its fruits forever in heaven. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: July 1, 2020 Reflection - The Woman from the Future

Fr. Ivan Dugandzic - June 25, 2020 Celebrant at Evening International Mass
  (c) Mary TV

July 1, 2020

Dear Family of Mary!!

On June 25, 2020, Fr. Ivan Dugandzic, Franciscan priest in Medjugorje, gave a rousing homily about Our Lady and her presence in Medjugorje. I want to share some of that homily here in written form, so we can take in the truth he spoke. He presents Our Lady's presence (the Woman from the Future) in terms of the social chaos of our time.

The second half of the Homily for Evening Mass in Medjugorje, June 25, 2020:

St. Luke, the Evangelist tells us about [the Angel Gabriel] who brings the word of the exulted promise: "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Now, behold, you shall conceive and give birth to a son. He shall be called Jesus. He will be called great. The Son of Almighty." This was the introduction into God's magnificent visitation to the earth. And it was the announcement of God's great Act of Reconciliation of the world with Himself.

Thirty-nine years ago, on our Apparition Hill, in the same way, unexpectedly, there was a Woman from Eternity who came and invited mankind to open to the future that God was offering through her.

A German journalist and publicist who wrote two precious books about Medjugorje, calls Our Lady in that way, "Woman from the Future," when he says at one place in his book: "It was after our third visit to Medjugorje, it was obvious. We knew this great shining image, that in the meantime had attracted millions from the whole world to come to Herzegovina - and visionaries called this image, Gospa - she comes from the future. Our societies speak less and less about the future because people have experienced the boundaries of these possibilities. Yet, presented to mankind, from the absolute, from the ultimate future, comes the Woman under the Cross; and she opens up the horizon in a most serious dimension of the future of God. For me, this was something amazing to know."

Dear brothers and sisters, Mary is the Woman from the future.

This is the theological background, and this is the grounding foundation of her frequent apparitions, especially in difficult historical circumstances. When the world's countries are in a mess, and when even the Church does not have a clear vision of the future, God sends the Woman from Eternity, so she can encourage us. She can show us the way of salvation.

And just like the Angel once gave to her the word of encouragement, "Do not be afraid, Mary;" in the same way, Our Lady encouraged her surprised and terrified children [the Medjugorje visionaries] that she had chosen as her witnesses. Through them to the world, she gave and is giving a clear message of Peace.

And now, in this moment it is completely obvious that Peace cannot be guaranteed by state officials and mighty politicians of this world. There is conflict between various ideologies and military alliances, and peace conferences are being held in vain. And there are always new peace accords that are being signed. Peace has been endangered more and more, because people do not speak with their pure heart and sincere intentions. That is why it is in danger.

And therefore, Our Lady's promise of peace has been logically followed by an invitation to conversion, to the change of men's hearts through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Celebration of the Eucharist, Adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, Prayer, Fasting, Reading of the Word of God.

So, it happens, that in the desolation of the immorality of this world, from Apparition Hill, the clear stream from Eternity has been released into the desert of the world!

A year ago, a reputable representative from the Vatican, Archbishop Fisichella, right from this pulpit, publicly said that there is no better form of New Evangelization that the Church has longed for, for a long time, than what takes place in Medjugorje. It needs to be rooted and planted in every part of the world.

This has been confirmed to us indirectly in the words of Our Holy Father, Benedict XVI, in his recently published book.

Brothers and sisters, all of you who are honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace: We are the witnesses of this drama of mankind. Then in the name of being politically correct and in the name of social tolerance, people represent and defend these evils, since otherwise they would be declared "conservative" and they would be harmful for advancement of society.

In such a spiritual state of the world, for 39 years, here, right here, the "Woman from the Future," Queen of Peace, has been showing us the way to true peace and the future with God. She is reminding us permanently that this is the path of holiness, the path to God in the everyday realities of our lives. Our Lady of Medjugorje has been gathering the Church that prays. The Church that with the power of the prayer would successfully resist the opposing force of the antichrist, as Benedict said.

Let us be sincerely grateful that she considers us and calls us her "Dear Children." And she wants us to be her witnesses and the apostles in that plan of salvation of the world. Devoted to her, let us be, in joy, open to the future that God is preparing for the Church and for the world. Amen!

Fr. Ivan Dugandzic! Thank you for your words of light and wisdom!
