Mother Mary said at Fatima: "My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the sure way which will lead you to God." St. Thomas Aquinas said: "The things we love tell us who we are!" 36th Anniversary Novena - Day Nine
Dear Family of Mary!
In Fatima Our Lady promised that "in the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph". In Medjugorje she has told us
"I invite you to self-renunciation for nine days so that, with your
help, everything that I desire to realize through the secrets I began
in Fatima, may be fulfilled" (August 25, 1991). The Triumph of
the Immaculate Heart of Mary is our hope in these dark days. As we
reflect on Our Lady's coming in Medjugorje, this Triumph give us a hope
for the future. We also are being invited to be part of that Triumph,
through our response to her call:
"Dear children! Today in a special way I invite you all to prayer and renunciation. For now as never before satan wants to show the world his shameful face by which he wants to seduce as many people as possible onto the way of death and sin. Therefore, dear children, help my Immaculate Heart to triumph in the sinful world. I beseech all of you to offer prayers and sacrifices for my intentions so I can present them to God for what is most necessary. Forget your desires, dear children, and pray for what God desires, and not for what you desire. Thank you for having responded to my call."(September 25, 1991)
May we respond with all our hearts to Our Lady's plea! Let us pray:
The Annunciation"Dear children! Also in this difficult time God's love sends me to you. My children, do not be afraid, I am with you. With complete trust give me your hearts that I may help you to recognize the signs of the time in which you live. I will help you to come to know the love of my Son. I will triumph through you. Thank you."(June 2, 2007)The Visitation"Dear children; Today I call you to a humble, my children, humble devotion. Your hearts need to be just. May your crosses be your means in the battle against the sins of the present time. May your weapon be patience and boundless love, a love that knows to wait and which will make you capable of recognizing God's signs, that your life, by humble love, may show the truth to all those who seek it in the darkness of lies. My children, my apostles, help me to open the paths to my Son. Once again I call you to pray for your shepherds. Alongside them, I will triumph. In my Immaculate Heart I feel that there are many of those who have drawn closer to me and are, in a special way, carrying the victory of my Immaculate Heart in their hearts by praying and converting. I desire to thank you and to inspire you to work even more for God and His kingdom with love and the power of the Holy Spirit. I am with you and I bless you with my motherly blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call."(August 25, 2000)
Dear
Mother Mary, we gather together to pray this novena, with deep
gratitude for your presence in our midst. You have come to show us the
way to heaven. The Heavenly Father has sent you to us to help us to
repent and return to Him. You are coming to be the bond between us and
the Heavenly Father, and to help us to love and serve His Son. You pray
with us for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, because you have told us
that when we have the Holy Spirit, we have everything. Therefore we
ask that during this Novena you will help us to bond with you and
through you with our Triune God who loves us so much. We ask that every
grace can be poured out upon our shepherds, especially Pope Francis,
during these nine days that they will be strengthened and purified for
the days ahead, these most triumphant days of the Triumph of your
Immaculate Heart! Thank you, dearest Mother!!!

36th Anniversary Novena Day Eight
Dear Family of Mary!
"If you knew how much I love you, you would cry with joy. When anyone is before you, and asks you something, you will give it to him. I am before so many hearts, but they remain closed. Pray so that the world receives my love." (June 21, 1984 Jelena)
Our Lady has come to give us her love. Let me share the witness of Musician Dorijan Skrobonja, posted on the parish website (http://www.medjugorje.hr/en/news/the-experience-of-one-medjugorje-pilgrim,6888.html ) :
"The special encounter with Medjugorje
took place four years ago, when I came on a pilgrimage with my family.
We always came here to give thanks to God and to receive blessings. I
never thought that anything special should happen to me, but that was
exactly what happened. My wife and I were going to the church, to pray
there. I knelt and I began to pray. Suddenly, I felt warmth, love and
gentleness that were being poured on me. It was in that moment that
Mother conveyed a message to me: Don't you know how much I love you;
why do you still question my love? I began to cry because of fear and
embarrassment; I could feel how small my faith was. All of my worries,
all of my burdens were released, I felt completely free, as if I was in
the world of complete and utter love, warmth and tenderness. I felt
ashamed to cry and I could feel people staring at me. My wife could see
that something extraordinary was taking place. It was that same night
that I wrote the poem to Our Lady: 'Tonight I stood beneath Thee, o
Mother, I stood beneath Thee, Pure Tenderness'," said Dorijan who is a
member of Aledory band together with his brother and they witness their
faith with the music. "We are trying to live the messages of the Queen
of Peace. Sometimes we are able to do that, sometimes we fail. I
regret for not having been able to come to Medjugorje more often."
This is a beautiful description of what it is like to encounter the
love of Our Mother, Mary. She is waiting to pour out her love on all
of us. We have only to ask! Let us pray!
The Annunciation"Dear children! Today I wish to give you my own love. You do not know, dear children, how great my love is, and you do not know how to accept it. In various ways I wish to show it to you, but you, dear children, do not recognize it. You do not understand my words with your heart and neither are you able to comprehend my love. Dear children, accept me in your life and so you will be able to accept all I am saying to you and to which I am calling you. Therefore, trust and pray so that I can intercede for you before the Lord, for him to give you the Heavenly Blessing and fill you with the Holy Spirit. Then he will be able to help all those who do not know the Lord - you, apostles of my love, will help them to call him 'Father' with complete trust. I am looking at you, am smiling at you and I love you in the way that only a mother can. Through the Holy Spirit who comes through my purity, I see your hearts and I offer them to my Son. I am asking for prayer said out of love, prayer which carries out works and sacrifices. Do not waste time thinking about whether you are worthy to be my apostles. The Heavenly Father will judge everyone; and you, love Him and listen to Him. I know that all of this confuses you, even my very stay among you, but accept it with joy and pray that you may comprehend that you are worthy to work for Heaven. My love is upon you. In this way, I desire for the darkness, and the shadow of death which wants to encompass and mislead you, to be driven away. I desire for you to feel the joy of the blessing of God's promise. You, children of man, you are God's children - you are my children. Therefore, my children, set out on the ways on which my love leads you, teaches you humility and wisdom, and finds the way to the Heavenly Father. Pray with me for those who do not accept me and do not follow me - those who, because of hardness of their hearts, cannot feel the joy of humility, devotion, peace and love - the joy of my Son. Pray that your shepherds, with their blessed hands, may always give you the joy of God's blessing. Thank you."(March 18, 2014)

36th Anniversary Novena Day Seven
Dear Family of Mary!
Our
Lady has been coming to us for 35 years, injecting into our tired and
discouraged world the gift of Divine Hope. God has sent her to be a
light in the darkness of sin and faithlessness. Now we are asked to
carry that hope into our own spheres of influence. Hope is like fresh
air, it revives our spirits. May we receive the hope Our Lady brings and
give it to others:
"Dear children! Today I call you to renew prayer and fasting with even greater enthusiasm until prayer becomes a joy for you. Little children, the one who prays is not afraid of the future and the one who fasts is not afraid of evil. Once again, I repeat to you: only through prayer and fasting also wars can be stopped - wars of your unbelief and fear for the future. I am with you and am teaching you little children: your peace and hope are in God. That is why draw closer to God and put Him in the first place in your life. Thank you for having responded to my call."(January 25, 2001)
Let us pray:
The Annunciation"Dear children! Also today I call you to pray for peace. Pray with the heart, little children, and do not lose hope because God loves His creatures. He desires to save you, one by one, through my coming here. I call you to the way of holiness. May He, who is peace itself, give peace to the entire world through you. I look at you and I see in your heart death without hope, restlessness and hunger. There is no prayer or trust in God, that is why the Most High permits me to bring you hope and joy. Open yourselves. Open your hearts to God's mercy and He will give you everything you need and will fill your hearts with peace, because He is peace and your hope. Thank you for having responded to my call."(November 25, 2010)The Presentation"Dear children! Anew, in a motherly way, I am calling you not to be of a hard heart. Do not shut your eyes to the warnings which the Heavenly Father sends to you out of love. Do you love Him above all else? Do you repent for having often forgotten that the Heavenly Father, out of His great love, sent his Son to redeem us by the Cross? Do you repent for not yet having accepted the message? My children, do not resist the love of my Son. Do not resist hope and peace. Along with your prayer and fasting, by His cross, my Son will cast away the darkness that wants to surround you and come to rule over you. He will give you the strength for a new life. Living it according to my Son, you will be a blessing and a hope to all those sinners who wander in the darkness of sin. My children, keep vigil. I, as a mother, am keeping vigil with you. I am especially praying and watching over those whom my Son called to be light-bearers and carriers of hope for you - for your shepherds. Thank you." (March 02, 2013)The Finding in the Temple"Dear children, Remember - for I am telling you - that love will win. I know that many of you are losing hope because around you, you see suffering, pain, jealousy, envy... but, I am your mother. I am in the Kingdom but am also here with you. My Son is sending me anew to help you. Therefore, do not lose hope; instead, follow me - because the victory of my heart is in the name of God. My beloved Son is thinking of you as he has always thought of you. Believe him and live him. He is the life of the world. My children, to live my Son means to live the Gospel. This is not easy. This means love, forgiveness and sacrifice. This purifies and it opens the Kingdom. Sincere prayer, which is not only words but is a prayer which the heart speaks, will help you. Likewise fasting (will help you), because it is still more of love, forgiveness and sacrifice. Therefore, do not lose hope but follow me. I am imploring you anew to pray for your shepherds so that they may always look to my Son who was the first Shepherd of the world and whose family was the entire world."(December 02, 2014)
