Mary TV: October 9, 2017 Reflection - A Quick Update

The Evening Program

St. Denis and companions

Dear Family of Mary!

"...May your only concern be how to live well every moment according to my Son. And there it is - peace for you!..." (October 2, 2017)

We continue our pilgrimage in Medjugorje this week!  And I see the truth of these words of Our Lady.  While here in Medjugorje, it is much easier to live well every moment according to Jesus, because Our Lady is so near, and the life here is centered on Jesus and the Sacraments.  Being submerged in the graces of the Sacraments, we pilgrims can see much more clearly how to live each moment well, and the peace just flows.

For instance, on Saturday evening, Denis and  decided to head over to the confessionals beside the church, to go to confession.  It was 5:00 pm and the priests make themselves available to confession then.  There were many priests in the confessionals, representing many language groups.  This side of the church is for the foreign pilgrims.  I wish I had taken a picture of the other side.  There were lines upon lines of Croatian speakers waiting to confess!!  Beautiful!!

(The Confessional lines Saturday evening)

I experienced such grace when I confessed.  It seems that the Holy Spirit just swoops down and intensifies the graces for confession here.  It was very healing for me.  Denis too!!

Evening Mass, packed as usual!

After confession we headed to the back of church for the evening Mass.  It always amazes me how many people come for Mass in Medjugorje. Every bench was full.  Jesus comes to us in the Eucharist to feed us with His Body and Blood, strengthen our hearts and help us to embrace holiness, and to fill us with His love.  No one wants to leave!!

(This is the Mary TV camera capturing Holy Mass as usual!
The camera man is in the coat with the big hood!)

I caught the beautiful sunset that occurred after Mass.  It looked like a glimpse of heaven, just a glimpse for us who are longing so for that place!

(Sunset in Medjugorje - Saturday Evening)

Then later that evening there was Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  Again, in the complete darkness, the entire seating area was filled with adorers.  No one moves.  Everyone is motionless and quiet.  Only Jesus, in the huge monstrance, is lit up!

(Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament - St. James)

What an evening of grace!  Confession, Holy Mass and Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.  It is a banquet of graces free for the asking!!

I wish you were all here with us.  You are in our prayers!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: October 6, 2017 Reflection - Update on my Birthday!

The Altar at Surmanci, Divine Mercy Shrine
  (c)Mary TV 2017

October 6, 2017

Dear Family of Mary!

I think Our Lady really likes birthdays!  Why do I think that?  Well yesterday was my birthday.  I wanted to keep it quiet, as it was just my birthday, nothing special.  And October 5 is the Feast day for St. Faustina, which is far more important!!

But I think Our Lady likes birthdays!  We were able to go to English Mass at 10:00 am, and the homily was just full of joy over St. Faustina and Divine Mercy.  I was so elated, because as you all know, I love St. Faustina!  During that homily I silently asked Our Lady and St. Faustina if they could find a way for me to go to the Divine Mercy Shrine in  Surmanci, the tiny village just over the mountain from Medjugorje.  We don't have a car, and it seemed that we would not be able to squeeze such a visit in.

Well, directly after Mass, Franjo offered to drive us to Surmanci for a quick visit, right then!  I was so grateful!  We drove through the countryside behind Medjugorje to Surmanci. It was during this ride that I found out that I am right, Our Lady does like birthdays.

Franjo, who has been a part of the Medjugorje phenomenon since the beginning, began to share as we drove.  It was mentioned that name days are often celebrated instead of birthdays, because the saint whose name you have is more important.  But Franjo said that Our Lady loves our birthdays.  He said it is true because she revealed to the visionaries the date of her actual birthday, and asked them to fast and pray before her birthday on August 5, so she could get the graces she wanted for us.  Then she told the visionaries that our birthday should be celebrated because it stands for our life, the day we were brought into life, breathing on our own and living.  She wants us to cherish our lives and celebrate them.  Our Birthday is the day we began to move towards eternity.

Here is how Our Lady's real birthday was celebrated in Medjugorje:

Sunday, August 5, 1984
The celebration of the second millennium of Mary's birthday was preceded by three days of fasting and continuous prayer. Seventy priests heard confessions without rest; there were a great number of conversions. "Never in my life have I cried with sorrow, as I have cried this evening with joy. Thank you!"

In anticipation of this day Our Lady had said: "The priest who will hear confession will have great joy on that day." During these 3 days of fasting and continuous prayer the visionaries say the Blessed Virgin was: Very Joyful. Our Lady repeated: "I am very happy, continue, continue. Continue to pray and to fast."

Her joy seemed to have reached a peak Sunday, August 5th. Like a flower when it blooms, and full of joy, Our Lady said: "Continue, continue, open your hearts, ask God and I will ask for you."

I realized that I should allow my birthday to be celebrated too.  And from that moment Our Lady poured on the joy.

As we neared Surmanci, we came around a hairpin turn, and there was a deep ravine in which Surmanci is nestled.

This river runs to Mostar, and Denis remembered once walking the whole way from Mostar in the night along this river.  But that's another story!

We drove down to the little church, arriving at about 11:30 am.

As we entered, we heard singing in Polish.  There was a pilgrimage group from Poland, celebrating Holy Mass in honor of St. Faustina!  Not only had Our Lady arranged for me to go to Surmanci, but St. Faustina had also arranged for us to be included in Holy Mass at the Shrine, surrounded by her countrymen!

Together we received Jesus, and then we were able to venerate the First Class Relics of St. Faustina and John Paul II!!  What a blessing!

We were all filled with emotion at the graces we received at the Divine Mercy Shrine in Surmanci.  Both saints, St. Faustina and St. John Paull II, were very present there.  Very present!

We drove back to the Mary TV Tea House and were greeted by Rosie and several of our shipmates, with a birthday cake with rockets on it:

Ha, Ha!!  Rosie is such a great hostess!!

Well, after that we prayed live on Mary TV and then we found out we were invited to attend an apparition at Marija's Magnificat Center.  Another birthday present, this time from Our Lady herself.  It was such a blessing to pray with everyone gathered there, and to welcome Our Lady when she came to Marija.  (I offered all our intentions to Our Lady when she came.  It was so beautiful!)

This is the spot where Marija kneels in prayer for the apparition.

I am overwhelmed with the gifts I have received this day.  The biggest gift is a deeper understanding of how beautiful and important each of our birthdays is.  Our lives are precious and important to God and to each other.  And our birthdays are really worth celebrating.  It is healing to know that we are each wanted by God, loved by Him, precious to Jesus and to Mary, and a gift to each other.  Our Lady can teach us so much in one day in Medjugorje!

Thank you for joining me in this pilgrimage!  And thank you all for your birthday greetings.  They bless me!
More to come, from Medjugorje!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: October 5, 2017 Reflection - Today is the Feast of St. Faustina!

  (c)Mary TV 2017

October 5, 2017
St. Faustina Kowalska - The Saint of Divine Mercy

Dear Family of Mary!

Yesterday was a wonderful day in Medjugorje!  The air was fresh and warm, and there were smiles everywhere!  At English Mass, Fr. Leon gave a wonderful homily about St. Francis.  Fr. Leon has a way of communicating the essentials without embellishment, that still leaves you in awe about the topic.  It was so with his homily of St. Francis.  You can listen to it at this link:  http://marytv.tv/?page_id=192

Fr. Leon said that St. Francis was very worldly, until  his conversion:

"What brought St. Francis out of his depression, what converted him, was his encounter with lepers.  In his own words he said:  'God allowed me to begin my  repentance in this way.  When I lived in sin, seeing lepers was a very bitter experience. God guided me into their midst and among them I performed acts of charity.  What appeared bitter to me became sweetness of the soul and body.' In the lepers that Francis embraced and kissed, Francis saw that what is the more despised becomes more and more to resemble Jesus in His last agony, when Jesus was abandoned by practically everyone He had come to save.  To comfort and embrace Jesus, Francis came to see that you have to embrace those who are abandoned."

We can learn so much from St. Francis.  He learned to see things according to God and not according to human standards.  May we learn from him!

Rosie and guests at the Mary TV Tea House!

After English Mass, I spent some time at the Mary TV Tea House!  It was like a family reunion, with shipmates from many countries.  In one hour I met people from Canada, England, Ireland, Columbia and Arizona USA.  We all felt like family because we are family!  The Tea House is a place to gather and share our experiences, our conversions, our histories.  Rosie Zubac is the hostess, and she makes everyone feel at home.  If you come to Medjugorje, please stop by and say hello and have a cupper!

The Adoration Chapel in Medjugorje

I then went to the Adoration Chapel near church, and spent some time with Jesus.  Adoration usually goes from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm every day.   Graces flowing from the Eucharist!!  I was so happy to be there.

After Denis and I did our Hour of Mercy and Daily Rosary in the studio, we went to the evening program behind the church.  I can't tell you how peaceful it is to just soak in the prayer of the Rosary, attend Holy Mass and receive Jesus in Communion.  Everyone is so still, so at peace together outside under the big sky, loving God.

Denis deep in prayer during the Evening Program!

Now here I am at our pansion, trying to recollect the day for you.  Know that Denis and I prayed for you very much, especially at apparition time, 5:40 pm.

Now back to St. Faustina!  Today is her Feast!  She has become very dear to me and Denis.  We are privileged to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy every day at 3:00 pm Medjugorje time, with the live feeds from Medjugorje.  We read from St. Faustina's Diary each day.  And we are overwhelmed at the timeliness of this devotion to Divine Mercy, seeing how very much our world needs mercy in our day.  It is part of Our Lady's mission, to save souls.

St. Faustina on her Feast day!!

St. Faustina lived her life for souls, and fought bravely.  Here are some of her last words in her diary:

1654 O truth, O thorny life,
In order to pass through you victoriously
It is necessary to lean on You, O Christ,
And to be always close to You.
I would not know how to suffer without You, O Christ.
Of myself I would not be able to brave adversities.
Alone, I would not have the courage to drink from Your cup;
But You, Lord, are always with me,
and You lead me along mysterious paths.
A weak child, I have begun the battle in Your Name.
I have fought bravely, though often without success,
And I know that my efforts have pleased You,
And I know that it is the effort alone which You eternally reward.
O truth, O life-and-death struggle,
When I rose to do battle, an inexperienced knight,
I felt I had a knight's blood, though still a child,
And therefore, O Christ, I needed Your help and protection.
My heart will not rest from its efforts and struggle
Until You Yourself call me from the field of battle.
I will stand before You, not to receive a reward,
But to be drowned in You, in peace forever.

We all may feel like weak children, but we can begin the battle in Jesus' Name, fight bravely for souls, and know that it is our effort that pleases God, not our success or brilliance.  Our Lady is with us to help us!

She told us on October 2:  "May your only concern be how to live well every moment according to my Son. And there it is - peace for you!"

If we do this, we will have peace and help Our Lady in her mission!

Jesus, I trust in you!

Well, I am off to bed, with more to follow!
God bless you all!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: October 4, 2017 Reflection -During Mirjana's Apparition

  (c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

October 4, 2017
St. Francis of Assisi

Dear Family of Mary!

Greetings from Medjugorje!  Denis and I have been here for four days now, and we are still jet lagging.  But the graces are flowing from our dear Mother's heart.  On Monday (October 2) we were able to walk over to the Blue Cross to be near when Our Lady appeared to Mirjana.  It was a beautiful day.  The walk through the fields was glorious.  We prayed the rosary as we walked.  And we arrived in time to pray a little bit with all the people gathered there.

(c) Mateo Ivankovic, 2017

This is a picture of the thousands of pilgrims who were gathered on the road near the Blue Cross.  We are way in the back smashed against the wall.  (Ha ha!)

Soon there was a great hush over the crowd, and we knew that Our Lady had come.  As I prayed quietly, I felt such great peace come over me.  Surely this was heaven that had fallen all around us.  And as I soaked up the peace, I felt a voice speak within, saying something very simple to me.  "Before you do anything, always pray to the Holy Spirit for direction, strength and light.  Never do anything without prayer."  That was all.  But it was for me a great light.  How many times have I acted out of my own wisdom, my own desires, my own habits?  How many times have I presumed i knew what God wanted me to do?  Many.

I feel that in our day, we now need to rely on God's leading more than ever! This is a time to stay close to Jesus and Mary, and let them lead us.

Later, as I read the message, I read these words from Our Lady:

"Dear children, I am speaking to you as a mother - with simple words, but words filled with much love and concern for my children who, through my son, are entrusted to me..."

I realized how very much Our Lady wants to speak simple words to us, words that will help us to change, to grow, to understand her Son, and to be useful disciples.  I am thankful to her for her words to me that day, and I hope to follow her advice.

We are having a wonderful time these days, praying and experiencing Medjugorje.  We have met many shipmates of Mary TV already, and what a joy!!  I want to ask any of you who I have met already to please send me a quick email with your picture and name, so I can remember you all.  It is such a joy to be together here in Our Lady's village.

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

I will try to keep you updated on our experiences here in Medjugorje.  It is heaven on earth.  May you all receive the same graces we are receiving!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

October 2, 2017 Message from Our Lady, Queen of Peace

Mirjana's encounter with Our Lady, October 2, 2017

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J
October 2, 2017

Dear Family of Mary!

Our Lady's message through Mirjana Soldo of October 2nd, 2017:

Dear children, I am speaking to you as a mother - with simple words, but words filled with much love and concern for my children who, through my Son, are entrusted to me. And my Son, who is of the eternal now, He is speaking to you with words of life and is sowing love in open hearts. Therefore, I am imploring you, apostles of my love, have open hearts always ready for mercy and forgiveness. According to my Son, always forgive your neighbors, because in that way peace will be in you.
My children, care for your soul, because it alone is what truly belongs to you.
You are forgetting the importance of family. A family does not need to be a place of suffering and pain, but a place of understanding and tenderness. Families who strive to live according to my Son live in mutual love. While He was still little, my Son would say to me that all people are His brothers. Therefore, remember, apostles of my love, that all people whom you meet are family to you - brothers according to my Son.
My children, do not waste time thinking about the future, worrying. May your only concern be how to live well every moment according to my Son. And there it is - peace for you!
My children, do not ever forget to pray for your shepherds. Pray that they can accept all people as their children; that, according to my Son, they may be spiritual fathers to them. Thank you!

Mary TV: September 29, 2017 Reflection -The Archangels

  (c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

September 29, 2017
Sts. Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, Archangels

Dear Family of Mary!

Today is the day that Denis and I begin our journey to Medjugorje!!  I am comforted that this is the Feast of the Archangels, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.  May they accompany us and protect us as we travel.

Let's pray to these powerful saints on their feast:

Prayer to St. Michael to Protect the Church and her Members
O Glorious St. Michael, guardian and defender of the Church of Jesus Christ, come to the assistance of this Church, against which the powers of hell are unchained, guard with especial care her august head, and obtain that for him and for us the hour of triumph may speedily arrive. O glorious Archangel St. Michael, watch over us during life, defend us against the assaults of the demon, assist us especially at the hour of death; obtain for us a favorable judgment, and the happiness of beholding God face to face for endless ages. Amen.

Prayer to St. Gabriel the Archangel
O Blessed Archangel Gabriel, we beseech thee, do thou intercede for us at the throne of divine Mercy in our present necessities, that as you did announce to Mary the mystery of the Incarnation, so through your prayers and patronage in heaven we may obtain the benefits of the same, and sing the praise of God forever in the land of the living. Amen.

Prayer to St. Raphael the Archangel
O glorious Archangel, St. Raphael, great Prince of the heavenly court, illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace, guide of those who journey by land or sea, consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners: I beg you to assist me in all my needs and in all the suffering of this life, as once you did help the young Tobias on his travels. And because you are the "Medicine of God," I humbly pray to you to heal the many infirmities of my soul, and the ills which afflict my body, it if be for my greater good. I especially ask of you an angelic purity, which may fit me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

We will be continuing our usual schedule as much as possible while we in Medjugorje.  Hour of Mercy and the Daily Rosary will be at their usual times.  My reflections may be less regular, depending on our pilgrimage schedule.  I will try to give you updates as we go along.  But I also want to take time just for prayer.  So forgive me if I don't keep up with the reflections on a daily basis.

We will be praying for all of you and your intentions.  We are a part of each other, because we are all a part of Our Lady, as she told us once:

July 02, 2014
"Dear children.... I desire for all of you to be with me in eternity, because you are a part of me. I will help you on your way. My love will envelop you like a mantle and make of you apostles of my light - of God's light..."

We are a part of Our Lady now, as we live her messages!!
Thank you to each of you who have responded to Our Lady's call.
Together we can help Our Lady.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: September 28, 2017 Reflection - I wish you, the helpless ones to begin helping...

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

St. Wenceslaus, St. Lawrence of Ruiz and companions
Dear Family of Mary!
"Dear children! I am calling you to be generous in renunciation, fasting and prayer for all those who are in temptation, and are your brothers and sisters. In a special way I am imploring you to pray for priests and for all the consecrated, that they may love Jesus still more fervently; that the Holy Spirit may fill their hearts with joy; that they may witness Heaven and Heavenly mysteries. Many souls are in sin, because there are not those who sacrifice themselves and pray for their conversion. I am with you and am praying that your hearts may be filled with joy. Thank you for having responded to my call."
(September 25, 2017)

Traci sent us this most joyful response to Our Lady's message:
I wanted to write so much about this.  I love this message. BUT what do I say?
There is nothing funner then practicing renunciation out of love for Jesus. You ask me my hobbies...that is it! There are so many fun ways to do it. One time when I was praying the Rosary my bangs were tinkling my forehead...a lot. I just let them do it and kept praying. I felt like God's heart poured out like a river.
If we can just get ourselves calmed, with forgiveness, and in enough peace, then we can focus on offering even the smallest of sacrifices with joy and love, and then, well, what else is better! The joy and peace just flow into my heart and so many others are helped because I choose not to eat ice cream when I seriously want it.   Or when I was so thankful to be hungry or sick or abandoned and abused.... because our Love is a crucified Love.
It means we can give everything out of Love. The less others think of us, the less success we have, our illness, our poverty, and even every success can be glorified now. There is nothing better than loving God and He gave us the easiest way to do it. The Mother said "You helpless ones start helping!"
So let's not feel sorry for ourselves in the least. It makes us unthankful. The world tells us to feel bad when these things happen but the world doesn't know Jesus, Who gave everything for us. So everything we give to Him turns into joy. Let us rejoice in every sacrifice. Our Love is a crucified Love.

Thank you Traci! Beautiful!!

I believe that we can make a difference, through love. By loving Jesus, and sacrificing out of love for Him, hearts can be opened and lives changed. Here is the message Traci quoted from, which says so much to us:

July 4, 1985 "Dear children! I thank you for every sacrifice you have offered. And now I urge you to offer every sacrifice with love. I wish you, the helpless ones, to begin helping with confidence and the Lord will keep on giving to you in confidence. Thank you for having responded to my call."

We may be helpless, but we can help!! We can make a difference for souls. Let's do it!!

Thank you for having responded to my call." (September 25, 2017)

"Dear children! I am calling you to be generous in renunciation, fasting and prayer for all those who are in temptation, and are your brothers and sisters...."

Our Lady is calling us to a very special ministry in this message. It is the grace of joining in the rescue mission for souls. She sees all the souls who in our day are inundated with temptations: temptations from without, through the media, through materialism, through our drug culture, through atheism and all the other faithless and Godless endeavors that surround us, and temptations from within, through loneliness, abandonment, abuse, despondency and despair. There are many, many souls who are sorely tempted in these days. And yet there are so few who can give them hope and the way out.

But we are being called to offer up our sufferings, our fasting, our prayers and little sacrifices for them, to stand as a bulwark between these souls and the enemy who would like to convince them to despair.

St. Faustina received this very ministry from Jesus, early in her consecrated life. Here is how she describes it:

My Jesus, I will now strive to give honor and glory to Your Name, doing battle till the day on which You yourself will say, enough! Every soul You have entrusted to me, Jesus, I will try to aid with prayer and sacrifice, so that Your grace can work in them. O great lover of souls, my Jesus, I thank You for this immense confidence with which You have deigned to place souls in our care. O you days of work and of monotony, you are not monotonous to me at all, for each moment brings me new graces and opportunity to do good. (Diary 245)
St. Faustina understood that her prayer and sacrifice could help souls to withstand temptations and find faith. And she wanted very much to be part of the fight for souls. We are now being called to join in that fight. It is not easy, because we may not see the effects of our sacrifices and prayers on this earth. The souls saved may be hidden from our eyes. But through faith we know that Our Lady would not ask us to sacrifice and pray for souls if it was impossible to be any help!
So, together, let's begin to understand this call. We can help our brothers and sisters who are in danger. Our prayers and sacrifices are works of rescue!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: September 25, 2017 Reflection - Pray until prayer becomes a joy for you!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
September 25, 2017

Dear Family of Mary!

Let's contemplate the August 25 message as we await the September 25 message to come later today:

"Dear children! Today I am calling you to be people of prayer. Pray until prayer becomes a joy for you and a meeting with the Most High. He will transform your hearts and you will become people of love and peace. Do not forget, little children, that Satan is strong and wants to draw you away from prayer. You, do not forget that prayer is the secret key of meeting with God. That is why I am with you to lead you. Do not give up on prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call." (August 25, 2017)

Hopefully this beautiful message ignited a renewal in our prayer life this month. It is so easy to grow lukewarm in prayer. But with Our Lady's help, we can persevere in prayer, praying until prayer becomes a joy for us!

Our shipmate, Christina, wrote me about her experience of praying until it becomes a joy for us:

Hi Cathy,
This is so true. I've experienced this same "pray until" struggle at one time or another. Some days I really struggle; my prayer is dry and distracted, and I sometimes feel a bit discouraged thinking on its merit. But there have been times where after doing maybe 3 rosaries and a St. Michael chaplet where I start to feel His love and joy in my heart, too. It's an uplifting feeling! And you're right, Cathy, sticking with prayer and not giving up is definitely being active in spiritual warfare. It reminds me of something St. Louis de Montfort had said in True Devotion to Mary:
"Always remember that the best Rosary is the one with the most merit in praying when it is hard than when it is easy."

And:

"He who fights even the smallest distractions faithfully when he says even the very smallest prayer he will also be faithful in the great things..."

It's like that saying, "Don't give up the ship!" We gotta just keep with prayer, even when it's tough, and we will feel the love of the Lord within our hearts as Our Lady tells us!  Christina

Amen!! Let's not give up, no matter what. Our Lady is depending on our prayers!!

Mary TV: September 22, 2017 Reflection - Everything that I desire to realize...

Dear Family of Mary!

There are many theories being offered in these days, theories of what God is doing at this difficult time. This is the centennial of the apparitions at Fatima, in which Our Lady made several predictions that were fulfilled. Over the past one hundred years we have seen humanity fall into great darkness, as nations, institutions and families have been divided and weakened by sin and a loss of faith. It would seem that Our Lady's desires were ignored by most of the world.

But as sad as this century has been, God has not given up on us yet. Our Lady's coming to Medjugorje with a plan for peace has given many new hope. Our Lady has told us so much in this message:

August 25, 1991 "Dear Children! Today also I invite you to prayer, now as never before when my plan has begun to be realized. Satan is strong and wants to sweep away my plans of peace and joy and make you think that my Son is not strong in His decisions. Therefore, I call all of you, dear children, to pray and fast still more firmly. I invite you to self-renunciation for nine days so that, with your help, everything that I desire to realize through the secrets I began in Fatima, may be fulfilled. I call you, dear children, to now grasp the importance of my coming and the seriousness of the situation. I want to save all souls and present them to God. Therefore, let us pray that everything I have begun be fully realized. Thank you for having responded to my call.

Our Lady's presence in Medjugorje with a plan for peace is part of her intervention at Fatima, the culmination of it. She wants to complete the plan of rescue she began in Fatima, and she needs us to help make it happen.

We may be distracted from Our Lady's plan by the things that are taking place and the theories that many are offering us about these portentous days. But Our Lady has told us there is only one sign we should be paying attention to. It is Medjugorje!

April 25, 1992 "Dear children! Today also I invite you to prayer. Only by prayer and fasting can war be stopped. Therefore, my dear little children, pray and by your life give witness that you are mine and that you belong to me, because satan wishes in these turbulent days to seduce as many souls as possible. Therefore, I invite you to decide for God and He will protect you and show you what you should do and which path to take. I invite all those who have said "yes" to me to renew their consecration to my Son Jesus and to His Heart and to me so we can take you more intensely as instruments of peace in this unpeaceful world. Medjugorje is a sign to all of you and a call to pray and live the days of grace that God is giving you. Therefore, dear children, accept the call to prayer with seriousness. I am with you and your suffering is also mine. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Medjugorje is a sign to all of us, and a call to pray and live the days of grace that God is giving us. This is the time of grace, the time of fulfillment. Rather than get distracted by other theories or fearful announcements, we need to live this time of grace through prayer and renunciation. That is our job in this work of God.

As a reminder to us of this plan just before October 13, 2017, Our Lady gave us this message through Ivan on September 1:

September 1, 2017 (through Ivan)
Dear children, today I wish to invite you again to pray at this time in particular for my intentions, for the plans I wish to accomplish with my coming. Pray, dear children, and be persevering in prayer! Mother prays for all of you and intercedes for all of you with her Son. Thank you, dear children, for having responded even today to my call."

She reminds us to pray for her intentions, for her plans, and not to quit! Our response in essential in this plan. She doesn't tell us to look for signs in the heavens, or disasters or storms or wars as our signs. She is our sign, her presence in Medjugorje is the sign. And she is asking us to join her in her plan to bring peace to the earth, through her Heart, so filled with love.

I believe we all need to recommit ourselves to Our Lady's peace plan, and follow her through her messages in Medjugorje at this moment in history. Everything she has done up until this day has been directed towards peace. She is not going to change course now. And we cannot change either. Persevere! Stand firm! Believe in Our Lady's call! Pray, fast, confess, convert, witness! That is our part in this plan. Don't get distracted by anything else, no matter how plausible. It may be a smoke screen. Trust Our Lady and stand firm.

As she said to us on July 2, 2016: "Dear children, my real, living presence among you should make you happy because this is the great love of my Son. He is sending me among you so that, with a motherly love, I may grant you safety... Trust in my Son, because He will do for you what you would not even know how to ask for..."

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: September 21, 2017 Reflection - The well do not need a doctor, the sick do.

St. Matthew, Apostle

Dear Family of Mary!

As Jesus passed by,
he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post.
He said to him, "Follow me."
And he got up and followed him.
While he was at table in his house,
many tax collectors and sinners came
and sat with Jesus and his disciples.
The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples,
"Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
He heard this and said,
"Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.
Go and learn the meaning of the words,
I desire mercy, not sacrifice.
I did not come to call the righteous but sinners." (Mt 9:9-13)

I always marvel at this reading from St. Matthew's Gospel. This is his own story, the story of how he was called to be an apostle. He was a most unlikely candidate. A tax collector, a sinner of the first order. To the Pharisees he was an outcast. Someone not to be associated with. And yet, Jesus walked right up to him, where he was collecting taxes, and called him. No hesitation.

Matthew followed Jesus, gave a dinner for him that night, inviting his other sinful friends, and Jesus sat among them with love. Unbelievable. But Jesus knew what he was doing. "Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. Go and learn the meaning of the words, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' I did not come to call the righteous but sinners."

I want to point out that Our Lady is just like her Son. In Medjugorje there is the biggest collection of sinners you could imagine. From the very beginning Our Lady has drawn sinner after sinner to her village. Once they arrive, they are welcomed by the parish, washed in the confessional, fed by the Eucharist, taught by the witness of others, and healed by climbing the rocky hills in prayer. Our Lady gives signs to each one, according to their need, so that they can understand her individual love for them, and also find their way to Jesus. They learn to know themselves while in Our Lady's brilliant presence. They see their wounds, their scars, their sins, their weaknesses, and they see how very much they are loved. That love is the key to the changes that take place in each person. Medjugorje is very much like Matthew's house, where all sorts of sinners gather to be with the Lord.
Take, for instance, the most recent Fruit Show, #281. (Here is the link to the Fruit of Medjugorje page: http://marytv.tv/?page_id=167  ) In it Melanie shares her story. She was wounded as a child, and lost her way in drinking and faithlessness for many years. But she finally found herself in Medjugorje with her mother, and through the Cenacolo Community discovered the way to healing. Our Lady made the connection for her and gave her the inner conviction that she needed to join the community. She has been 4 years in the Cenacolo Community and now is ready to live her life. This healing happened very much through Our Lady of Medjugorje, who welcomed Melanie to her village and found the answer for her, the way to wholeness and joy.

Melanie was very much like the people who were gathered at St. Matthew's house that night with Jesus. She was sick and she needed a doctor. She found Jesus and Mary in Medjugorje and she has been healed. There are very many testimonies on our web page that share the same good news. Jesus and Mary have come not for the healthy, but for the sick. They are calling us all to come and be healed, to learn that we are loved, and that we are made for God. Medjugorje is a field hospital for the walking wounded. Come and be healed!

Our Lady once said:
June 2, 2010 "Dear Children; Today I call you with prayer and fasting to clear the path in which my Son will enter into your hearts. Accept me as a mother and a messenger of God's love and His desire for your salvation. Free yourself of everything from the past which burdens you, that gives you a sense of guilt, that which previously led you astray in error and darkness. Accept the light. Be born anew in the righteousness of my Son. Thank you."

This is what happened to St. Matthew. It happened to Melanie. And it can happen to all of us!
