Novena for Christmas, Day 7
O come, thou Dayspring, come and cheer
Our spirits by thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice, Rejoice! Emmanuel
shall come to thee, O Israel!

25, 2018 "Dear children! I am carrying to you my Son Jesus who is the
King of Peace. He gives you peace and may it not be only for you but,
little children, carry it to others in joy and humility. I am with you
and am praying for you in this time of grace which God desires to give
you. My presence is a sign of love here while I am with you to protect
you and lead you towards eternity. Thank you for having responded to my
call.."
The Gospel reading for today is the first part of the Visitation, when Mary enters Elizabeth's home
Mary
set out in those days and traveled to the hill country in haste to a
town of Judah, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted
Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in
her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a
loud voice and said: "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is
the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother
of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your
greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed
are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be
fulfilled." (Luke 1: 40-45)
Our Lady carried her Son Jesus to Elizabeth. And today she carries Him to us!
Upon
hearing Mary's voice, John leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled
with the Holy Spirit! And today when we hear Our Lady's words to us, we
are also filled with the Holy Spirit!
Elizabeth
was amazed that Mary, the mother of Jesus, would come to her. We are
amazed as well, that the Mother of our Lord would come to us in
Medjugorje!
And we, like Elizabeth, can say to Our Lady: "Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled!" Indeed she is most blessed, and we now are blessed through her!
May
we receive the Holy Spirit through the presence of Jesus and Mary in
Medjugorje, and in each of our hearts as we respond to Our Lady's call!
Come, Holy Spirit, Come!!

LET US PRAY
O
Lord Jesus, Who allowed the greatness of Thy incarnate divinity and
most sacred humanity to be born in time, to become a little child, and
to suffer bitter death, grant that we may acknowledge infinite wisdom in
the silence of a child, power in weakness, majesty in abasement, so
that adoring Thy humility and littleness on earth we may contemplate Thy
glories in Heaven. We ask this of Thee, who, with the Father and the
Holy Ghost, lives and reigns God, forever and ever.
