Mary Vitamin for July 9
thTopic: Pray like Our Lady
Quote:
Blessed Charles de Foucauld
To pray is to think of God with thoughts of love.
Meditation:
When Our Lady lived Her earthly life, how did she think of God in her prayers?
At her Presentation in the Temple, Our Lady according to St. Francis de Sales demonstrated her "absolute surrender to the Divine Majesty." At the Annunciation Our Lady thought and said "Be it done unto me according to thy Will."
At the birth of Christ, Venerable Mary of Agreda says:
"The Divine child came into the world most beautiful and resplendent, without detriment to the holy virginity of Mary, for He passed through her virginal womb like a ray of the sun." What thoughts of love and veneration did she offer that night?
God was her child, her baby which she held in her arms. How readily tender, loving thoughts come from the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin towards the God who showers her with grace and yet doesn’t spare her suffering.
Resolution:
Today I will say my usual prayers (Morning Offering, Angelus, Rosary, breviary, Spiritual Communion), and I will try to pray these regular prayers with Our Lady’s thoughts of love for God.
Marian Vow:
For this reason the members of M.I.M. have the concrete scope of cultivating amidst daily duties the knowledge and love, the imitation and cult of the Immaculate Mediatrix, by means of prayer and meditation, of in-depth study of the mystery of Mary "centered on the Immaculate Conception and universal Mediation", so that entire being and activity of the person consecrated to the Immaculate reflect in a living way, existentially, the Immaculate in her being, 'full of grace', and the universal Mediatrix in her activity for the salvation of mankind;
Marian Seraphic Pathways, Directory #10a.
I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Thanks be to God for graces received.
