[MaryVitamin] hidden or interior

Topic: Hidden Life vs Interior Life
For Our Lady of Mt Carmel -- July 16

Quote:
Fr. O'Laverty
We can easily see why Carmel should be the special order of Mary, once we realize that the interior life means everything in the salvation of souls.
Father H. O’Laverty, B.A., The Mother of God and Her Glorious Feasts, (Tan Books), 143.

Meditation:
Fr. O'Laverty
For two reasons, Mary is called Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The first is that Mary is the protector of the Carmelite Order throughout the world. She presented the Brown Scapular to St. Simon Stock as the pledge of her special protection over this order, promising that those who die wearing it would not suffer the pains of hell. The second reason for the title of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is that Mary is the model of the interior life. The interior life is often confused with the hidden life. Some lead very hidden lives and never wish for public notice, and yet they are very far from being interior. Their lives may be external or exterior, and God may be very far from them.
Father H. O’Laverty, B.A., The Mother of God and Her Glorious Feasts, (Tan Books), 143.

Resolution:
At Fatima Our Lady taught us the simple way to lead an interior life. By following her directions in offering sacrifice "for the love of God, for the conversion of sinners and for sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary."
In these words, our Heavenly Mother gives us the means for making our exterior life an interior life for God.
Today I will consider the difference between a hidden life and an interior life.

Marian Vow:
Particular attention should be given the apostolate known as A Day With Mary
… The Day With Mary  is based on the message of Fatima, on all its rich content of truths of faith, of calls to great prayer and generous penance, after the admirable example of the three little shepherds of Fatima.
Marian Seraphic Pathways, Directory #77

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.
