Dear Family of Mary!

I had a very busy week last week and so I missed several days of personal prayer. Today I can feel the effects of lack of prayer. I have been anxious, unfocused, discouraged, and lonely. Without prayer, I begin to wither like a flower without water.

So, I want to share with you some of the "one-liners" Our Lady has given us about prayer, more as an encouragement for me than for all of you. I expect you are all flourishing in prayer. But I need to hear these things she has told us about prayer. I need a boost in my desire to pray!

 

"In prayer you will discover the greatest joy and the way out of every situation that has no escape." 

(March 28, 1985)

 

"Let prayer, dear children, be your everyday food, especially when your work in the fields is exhausting you so much that you cannot pray with the heart. Pray, and then you will overcome any weariness. Prayer will be your joy and your rest." 

(May 30, 1985)

 

"Without prayer, dear children, you cannot experience either God, or me, or the graces which I am giving you. Therefore, my call to you is that the beginning and end of your day always be prayer." 

(July 3, 1986)

 

"In prayer you will be conscious of a new way of joy."

"Let prayer be your life. Dear children, dedicate your time only to Jesus and he will give you everything that you are seeking. He will reveal himself to you in fullness."

"Also today, I call you to fill your day with short and ardent prayers. When you pray, your heart is open and God loves you with a special love and gives you special graces." (July 25, 2005)

 

Prayer is the great secret to life that Our Lady has been trying to give us all these years. Prayer with the heart unites us to our Creator so that we can be fed and led by Him to Heaven. I am encouraged. Maybe you are too. Let's pray for each other for the grace to pray more and better!!
