What Holds Us Back in Advancing to Union in Love With God?
St. Theresa of Avila, the Great Doctor of the Church states the answer:
"God will not give Himself
wholly to us, until we give ourselves wholly to Him." Our Lord gives
the solution to overcome our selfishness and pride to Elizabeth
Kindelmann. If we desire and accept the Flame of Love Grace, God will
grant the fruit of this Grace to all who do desire it, which is the
Grace of "full abandonment". Elizabeth prayed in response to His
request: "As You ask, I give myself totally and without reserve. Sweet
Jesus, I live for You and die for You." Our Lord gave her this Grace:
"What I give you now is the Grace of full abandonment to Me. All during
your life, it will control your being, and from your soul, it will
radiate to others."
