Dear Friends, Dr. David is an example of an everyday person who has committed to living an extraordinary life. While he is not wealthy, he gives freely of his skills, time and compassion. “I think everybody has a call from God, and for me volunteering has been my call. I want to build that bridge between what people don’t have and what they should have.” In Mutomo, the community Dr. David is committed to serve, access to water is a daily challenge. Many people spend more than 2 hours every day fetching water, and more than 70% get sick because it is contaminated. Without access to basic needs like water, food, and healthcare, many children die. “Everybody has different experiences, they come from different backgrounds and they can teach us a lot about what it means to be human and also how people go through suffering and as a physician my job is not just to give medication but to accompany people in their suffering.” People like Dr. David are on the front line of our mission, but they can’t do it without your support. Until September 30th, you gift will be matched, dollar-for-dollar.
